- I have been doing the first two phases of this routine for almost fifty years now. I was lucky to have had some great sessions with David Roth when he was running the magic shop at Circus Circus in Las Vegas in the early seventies and got to see David do his version of the Sachs routine with coins. Dean Dill taught me the third phase of this routine in the early nineties.

I saw someone do the two-card matrix routine at the TAOM back in 1971. I am not sure who to credit? If anyone knows where this phase of the routine first appeared in print, please comment below.

@@marektomanek1913 Thanks for the info on the two card assembly - nice to know the credit.
@@allanackerman4848 glad to add a bit of my knowledge 🙂
I think I know who came up with this coin trick!
It was me but now I have since been reincarnated...... 😃👍💯
You actually taught me something that has nothing to do with the routine... its the mirror set up and close up pad.. what a great way to practice and see what the people see.
Yes -- the practice mirror is a great tool. 👍👍👍
David Roth was magic!! His close up magic was special. We shared a birthday so I could not believe it when he passed away in 2021. You were fortunate to have met him and witnessed his amazing talent closeup😉
One amazing magician and a super nice guy. He worked at Magic Mansion at Circus Circus here in Las Vegas for a couple of years in the early 1970's.👍
I like this trick it’s magical for an audience as well as the performer..i do coins across then this trick..I like how you added those variables to the end of this routine..I can’t wait to try it, although I don’t have any pet turtles
Agree, it is one great coin trick. So lucky I got to spend some time with David Roth and Dean Dill.👍
I just do wonderful seeing good magic done great! I love the line, keep your eyes on the coins, keep you eyes on my hands and keep your eyes on me. Such a great and funny tension breaker. Thank you for sharing Allan!👍🤓👍
Dave - glad you enjoyed the routine
Wonderful as always. Thank you for sharing ☺️
My pleasure 😊
The Master - You should put your method in print or on a DVD, I think it has some great original ideas that you use to make it look so magical.
Thanks Glenn - this routine has been a favorite for many years.
Your handling is flawless Alan😊👍😊👏👏👏👏👏👏👏🤜🤛
Thank you Robert -- always good to hear from you.
Hi Allan, thanks for this great trick.
You never stop making people love magic.
Your hands are a kind of gift in the modern world. And your life example is very valuable and honorable, especially for young people.
I wish you to continue the development of this channel.
Thanks Gevorg - appreciate the nice complement👍
Love this! Watched it twice. Thanks.
Awesome! Thank you!
Wow that was wonderful, flawless!
Thank you so much!
Great routine! So sweet
Glad you enjoyed the handle.
Great coin routine Alan! So refreshing to see you do something different. That was really strong.
Glad you enjoyed it
Wow this is amazing, very skilful!
Thank you so much 😀
Very well performed. The routine is really an eycatcher. Bye the way; your book, "Las Vegas Kardam" is really great.
magic greetings from Switzerland
Thank you -- glad you enjoyed Kardma
Very nice, good to see some coin magic here!
Thank you kindly
This is my favorite performance of Shadow coins I've seen. I'm curious where the instant matrix (all 4 coins at once) idea originated.

MJ -- I did David Roth's handle for years -- in the mid ninties Dean Dill showed me his extended version. Not sure if Dean ever did publish this handle.♦️
@allanackerman4848 If I were to perform ANY "backfire" matrix routines. It would be this one. I already do the Ammar version, but this just takes it to the limit. Keep up the great work!

@@allanackerman4848 So after almost 2 weeks, I'm doing your sequences here. Honestly, I'm a bit bummed out, because I'm 75% of the way there (sequence, not patter) and am missing a few subtleties. I'm afraid to give anything away here, so if you're open to it, I'd love to PM you or chat about it. If not, I totally understand. I want to do it justice and perform it for laymen :)
Amazing coins across 👏 very magical ✨️
Thanks Donald -- glad you liked the routine
Really enjoying your channel.. thank you for sharing
Thanks Derrick🔶👍
Great execution ...👏👌
Thank you so much 😀
Spectacular as always! I'm not a big fan of coin magic, but it is nice to see some coin stuff done well once in a while. The channel is growing, keep it up, sir!
Thanks for watching!
Umm WoW!! So clean that presentation!!
Thank you 😋
Great routine, bro.
Glad you liked it! Kristijan. 👍
Al, Nice clean routine. My first love was coin magic with Bobo's, until I got bit with the card bug.
Like coin magic too -- actually any magic that can be done one on one is my favorite. Like stage, but love close-up.
Superb
Thanks 🤗
I know this trick, yet I am still fooled.
It is a great piece and has a long history. Doing the effect with coins is my favorite and we need to thank David Roth for that bit of knowledge.😊
I'm curious why you don't credit to Michael Amar? That is where I learned it.
Michael - the first part of the routine is what I saw David Roth do -- probably in 1972, it might have been 1973, the two years he was in Vegas running the magic shop at Circus Circus Hotel and Casino. It was not until the early nineties I saw Michael do the routine. He added some beautiful moments to the effect, e.g., it looked like your hands never came close to the coins. It felt like your hands were about 6 inches above the ground. But when you add something, sometimes you lose something - you now had to have the audience view looking downward. So, I never did use that approach. But yes -- Amar's version is more magical looking -- and he is the one that made the effect famous. So, thank you for your comment -- I should have mentioned Amar.
Accept for a little talking, well done.
I always like to know the history of an effect. When working for laymen I do leave that part out, but when working for my fellow magi I always try and credit.
Where to learn these
It is in the first issue of Apocalypse. You can search for it on CZcams and I think will find a few versions with explanations. The first part using the two cards is in Stars of Magic.
