Since this song was used in Elite Beat Agents in a stage about a child missing her deceased father, I always saw it through the lens of familial love, or otherwise platonic love.

The band Chicago and older music will always have a special meaning to me I was a kid when the song first came out and I still had my whole life ahead of me I married a 21 in 1979 and my wife filed for divorce in 2023 after a lifetime together there was no one's fault sometimes time just does this to people it's sad but it's a fact and I never thought that I would find love again and then this past December I took a chance on someone that I saw on Facebook and she accepted my friend request the first night we chatted on WhatsApp for about 6 hours we have so much in common and we both felt like we known each other our whole lives lives the connection was immediate and very real I found my soulmate in life and this beautiful woman feels the same way I thought I was going to spend the rest of my life alone and for a while I was in a pretty dark place but it seems like with the wave of her hand my whole world changed she's such a kind and gentle person with a lot of love to give and the heart that has no limits she's become not only my life but also everything that makes life worth living and she came to me when I need to turn the most I believe that there are no coincidences in life everything happens for a reason some people go through their entire lives looking for a love like this and here I met my wife to be on Facebook and just two years ago I had absolutely no interest in Facebook I like to call it divine intervention she was just as lost as I was I needed somebody in her life to make her feel like life was worth living also there's never been a better match anywhere she's my life , My lover, my best friend, my angel and I'm a better person for knowing her she absolutely rocks my world and I couldn't imagine a life without her in it and I believe that I've become a better person just by being around her so this songs lyrics exemplify what love really is the feeling in the pit of your stomach when the one you love isn't there to greet you when you get home or how you feel when their health is failing and you wish it was yourself instead of them this is exactly what I get from this song and it's amazing to have someone in your life that makes you feel that way so the song has very special meaning to me and it always will for myself it will always remain one of the greatest love songs ever written and I hope everyone watching this video has the same chance at happiness that I've been given it's been a whirlwind Romance and we've never been happy in our lives

I was born and grew up in Japan. Some of my friends recommended Western music to me when I was in high school. I went to a CD rental store and picked up a Chicago CD that had this song on it. I don't remember how come I chose it. But the moment I started playing the song at home, I fell in love with the beautiful melody and arrangement. Now I am 50 yo. I have experienced a lot in my life. Now I appreciate the emotions and meanings in this song more deeply.
David Foster and Peter cetera created a true masterpiece in this song, Chicago 17 is one of my favorite albums, it's sad that Peter and the rest of the band could never put their differences behind them, it's mind-blowing to imagine what they could have accomplished if they would have stayed together.

I would have loved to been born in the 60's or 70's just to live through the 80's because so much of our current technology was from the 80's....that and the 80's had more interesting cartoon shows and music.
Being in your 20s in the 80s would be better, you could party, work, enjoy the nightlife, go dating and all that.

I grew up with Chicago, my parents loved them (and Peter Cetera). I sang this song to my bride during our wedding. So this song means a lot to me for a couple of reasons.
I was lucky enough to have had parents who did the same with me with Chicago and Journey. This will definitely be playing whenever I get married.

I have always loved Chicago, and when I was in high school, the marching band director was OBSESSED with them, so there were often arrangments of Chicago songs played at halftime. Usually the only reason I even went to football games was the band lol 😂
