If only the hybrid system was reliable it would’ve been a formidable opponent against the other LMP1 cars, they had to keep the Hybrid motors off since they didn’t work properly, so the car kind of lumbered out of corners

How it began and how it ended is really embarassaing...NIssan was so ashamed, they cut completely the LMP2 engine program afterwards. I do not expect them to show up at LM in the distant future.
Nissan made great efforts in the 1990s, including Le Mans 1990 and 97-98. This car at Le Mans 2015 was a shame for Nissan, which qualified in the last positions. The car's design was really exaggerated by LMP standards. they migh return in the hypercar era. This car could perhaps do well in this new class with adjustments ... they deserve a win...
cant believe i watched this video till the end. the only good point of this gtr is the acceleration on straight lines but were beaten in corners by lmp2 cars. when exiting every corner, they struggled to get away from lmp2.
That's reason why prototype made car is about more important things is aerodynamic balance, cornering and speed performance. This Nissan was way to non realibality for De La Sarthe track just look at that design, that long front end and how in the world that such a thing can go fast in cornering but in the straight line maybe yes. This is the reason this car in the list one of the ugliest racing car and non having a good performance
@@Druze_Tito all LMP 1 hybrid car also doesn't use the full hybrid energy at all too, they recently used it from few mileage exit the corner for the speed drag reduction Do you think Toyota, Porsche and Audi using a full of hybrid energy? No they were not. It's clearly you have seen it right, even LMP2 can easily catching them up after every corner

First thing is Nissan told their team to break the stereotype which is to design completely different from the likes of Audi , Porsche and Toyota. Thats great but it became one of the main causes. Besides, nismo didn't had much time to develop their cars.(imagine if nissan had perfected this car, they would be another main rival in lmp1) You see they originally planned to compete in full season but due to many circumstances they decided only to take part in 24h of LM. The hype was good but the outcome was disaster. The hybrid part also one of the main problem(due to limited developing time). Almost everything doesn't go as planned. But on the bright side, Nissan showed the world that they are bold enough to make a difference. Much respect to them. 💪

I tried driving the car in gran turismo sport, as soon as you come out of a corner and gas it you'll almost lose the car bcuz there's just so much torque. Even with the ERS added to the car in the game I still couldn't keep up with the other hybrids and I would be overtaken by other lmp1's like the peugeot 908 and the audi r18 2011 and they don't even use hybrid systems. I do like the design but how it performed, it was terrible.
Since it is an ff the middle and the rear can be sculpted without any mechanical components getting in the way. And in an endurance battle having less moving parts increases efficiency. And a little cool fact is that since the rear is basically empty the whole section can be used as an air tunnel and as a diffuser which increases downforce therefore putting a thinner tyre can be possible which increases efficiency without decreasing cornering speed. These are the main things that i remember. (With efficiency i mean less fuel consumption, higher power delivered to running wheels, wind drag, road coefficient, etc etc)
Ananda Fitrian Anshary You are not wrong. Most countries get this teached at middle school where they learn that theories fuel science which then adds up to our knowledge in the universe. An example from the same subject can be Tyrrell P34, another example can be Audi first "properly" using AWD to dominate Rally, Group B and Touring Car races. And the things that i have explained on my first reply comment can be explained with begginner level physice.

Even though the Nissan was the slowest car in LMP1, i still like the sound, and how it looks.

Perhaps if they had KERS working it would be a different story. We'll never know.
They only had 500hp from the petrol engine. if the KERS worked they would have had 1200hp. it would have been up there with the other LMP1 cars.
Yup. 1200hp is more than enough to beat the hybrid rivals. But unfortunately that didn't work

Sad how this flopped. Looks great, sounds good but performed awfully.
Front wheel drive and 5 speed gear box kill this car, it don't even have the characteristic of a GTR.
