Me and my boyfriend have started to think about our wedding too and I think we are doing a small family wedding in Hawaii + a small gathering in our hometown just because it is way cheaper than having a big wedding and prefer to keep our wedding small and intimate but also want a chance to celebrate with our friends too. Also, I feel like planning a big wedding can be pretty stressful too but we are not doing any performance, first dance, etc and keep our wedding pretty casual to make it less stressful. All the best for your wedding and the new chapter of your life.💖
Hi Miki! As someone who just got married last year here's my advice: figure out your top 3 (doesn't have to be 3) most important things to spend the money on and everything else u can search for more affordable alternatives. Looking back, for me it was dress, photography, and makeup/hair. Have a clear decision of what u want in these and be unforgiving about your top things. It seems like photography is really important for you, so maybe focus on how the background will look on your photos- is it location? Can you go to a natural park with gorgeous backdrops and spend nothing? Can you build something for photos or around areas that will be heavily photographed? (ie by the dance floor/location of vows) and focus more on those areas rather than decorating every inch of your venue. Quote things like crazy, its a lot of work but totally worth it. There's no reason to spend 30k on something like flowers for 1 day trust me. You won't regret the photos, but you may regret spending a lot on things that don't last. I love these unfiltered vlogs & how honest you are, it's super refreshing :)

Pandemic bride here 🤚🏼 Prior to only having a backyard wedding and reception at our house with 10 people due to COVID (in June 2021 when small gatherings were OK), we had planned on having the ceremony in the backyard with family (20 people) and then a week later have a reception with about 100 people (extended family flying in and all our friends) at a brewery in town. Some days I wish we had that! Best of both worlds: intimate ceremony but everyone still gets to celebrate. And it wasn’t terribly expensive if we did it.
I was inspired by Mandy Moore who did something similar. I agree - the wedding industry is crazy but I believe you can find something non-traditional that works and means more for you and Kevin. I’m excited for you and cheering you on! ❤

My husband and I eloped, and we do not have any regrets. We used the money we would have used on a small wedding to visit several places we wanted to explore.
I've several married friends and the wedding planning was very stressful for them. If you go that route, I would recommend hiring a planner, so it doesn't put a strain on your relationships.

My husband and I didn’t have a wedding. Instead, we went to an Asian restaurant with parents and a few friends. Not really have a reason why we did so. It’s been 7 years now❤
When I got married back in 2020, I was also overwhelmed by finances because my husband and I didnt have much. One perk about covid was we werent allowed to gather for a reception so that cut a huge amount of money already. The most important part of a wedding isnt the after party, its the actual ceremony. So we had our wedding in church with minimal decorations. I didnt have bridesmaids and groomsmen, only a MOH and best man. We also had party favor and lunch plates for our guests to take home after the ceremony as well as a photobooth set up outside the church so guests could have fun taking pictures. My wedding costs overall included the dress, suit, matching masks for the entourage, bridal and MOH bouquet, boutaneers for the groom and best man, decor for the church, lighting in the church, party favors and food plates to go, my wedding planner + wedding decorator, photobooth (im sure im missing a few but these are the only ones I can think of) and it all cost me about $7K. You could totally have a memorable wedding day under $10K and itll still look amazing!

Miki, years ago you also do make up and livestream, but now, rather than speaking to camera, you have a boyfriend to share vlog, I say that's a good thing. Sometimes, I don't know if you talk to Kevin or audiences, but that's not important. It is great to see you still can be active and positive on Ig and youtube.
I can't do the first 2 outs. I tried but I get the 'playing victim making stuff up' lecture, treated like I'm the problem.
I hope you let yourself buy things you want but definitely a good goal if you think you spend too much.
