Targem gave us a unique, powerful, yet balanced weapon that brings something interesting to the game - something is very wrong with the world. I fear for our future lol. It could probs get away with having a bit more ammo given the slow fire rate and limited fire angle though.

Honestly the thing I love about this weapon (and thank you for reviewing it) is all the possibilities for finding a sweet, fun build. You have light, medium, heavy options, increase durability, increase reload, increase damage, and myriad combinations... man, that's super exciting.

Resistance isn't calculated like a summary of all perks. It is something like 100 - 30% = 70 - 30% = 47 - 30% = 35
So maximum resistance is around 65%
okay, so the way the game calculates damage resistance is really dumb
Averter has 30% damage resist
DMG = 72 /(1+0.3) = 55.38
Grizzly gives an additional 30%
DMG = 72/(1+0.3+0.3) = 45
Ermak gives one last 30%
DMG = 72/(1+0.3+0.3+0.3) = 37.89
So it's less like you're reducing the damage you take, and more like you're increasing your resistance to damage
And to add ANOTHER layer of fuckery, Bastion 50% damage resistance actually *halves* the damage taken, exactly as you'd expect
And the way THAT interacts with Averter is:
DMG = X / (1.3/[1-0.5])
And do you know why I wrote (1-0.5) instead of just 0.5?
it's because I'm willing to bet that this is how the bullet damage resistance of frames (and other resistances stated under the "features" row of a part) work!
So in conclusion, the damage formula is:
DMG = X / [(1+ΣY)/(1-Z)]
@@PanzerSoul yeah, you're right. Resistance is actualy bonus health, i saw one guy tested it. This is weird and it doesn't actualy work as it supposed to work if it was actual resistance but however
Very nice investigation on this weapon, perks and quirks that come with it with various combo's. Time taking very much appreciated by the crossout gang.
just a little more projectile speed and it's perfect. Even when i'm missing every shot, its just so fun to use. The explosion radius is monsterous, you can hit hovers for a good amount just shooting the ground, if you land a good shot between someone's tires, even if it hits the ground, you can de-frame them, etc etc. one trick yes but very fun regardless.
I've had some fun with Avalanche + Icebox or Ermak on a couple of Augers... it's around 9k PS and having the gun elevated up a few ticks helps to avoid hitting the ground
And I completely relate to your laughing at those one-shot hover kills, this is the most fun I've had in XO in a while

*How dmg resistance works now and how it should be:*
100dmg… 30% dmg resistance would make that 70dmg
Now take that 70 and add another 30% dmg resistance … 30% of 70 = 21
70-21 = 49
Now take that 49 and again 30% it..
49 x 30% = 14.7
49-14.7 = 34.3
That means
100 - 34.3 = 65.7
65.7% damage resistance if all perks would work (averter, ermak and grizzly driver)
For those who are wondering, with omamori instead the dmg resistance increases to 75.5%
I did NOT consider avalanche dmg resistance…

I love seeing your videos man played Crossout about 3 or 4 years ago and recently got back on it is pretty cool to see that people are still playing this game
I think Avalanche works really well in close brawls. Echo could be a decent choice.
I felt pretty good about my build tanking Avalanche rounds; took 3 hits for the guy to kill me (I was testing if the Jay co-driver with 3 spectres stacking could strip the Avalanche before he offed me)

Funny thing is, the Mandrake on the old Yolo builds where the mandrake shoots forward like a cannon even though it only shoot 1 time now and not the 5 rappid shots it still deals more damage than this cannon and it has faster reload and accuracy, they need to redo this cannon for sure, more blast radius or faster reload maybe even both because this weapon is a sad thing in the current state.
Man I tell u wut dang ole Avalanche with a Hadron, flywheel & king mine that's badass right there man 😆😆😆
Hopefully the future nerf of these newer weapons won't be too harsh I mean the avalanche probably won't be touched since it's fairly balanced but the new artillery weapons might not be so lucky especially since it's being used ALOT at a wide range of power scores.

I'm gonna try a hadron dog build with the avalanche. Seems plausible since you can get the reload down to 4 secs. I'm also gonna try a avanche/flash combo, probably with the nova cab or something
try it with a icebox cabin for that juicy 15% dmg buff. at 10k it just yeets people back to the garage :D
I have yet to try it with the icebox I have seen a few hover with it and it looked fun
as for resistance stacking, I'm pretty sure it is multiplicative, the numbers still don't quite line up, like you say 72 damage dropped down to only
the damage calculate should work like this
72 - 30% = 50.4
50.4 - 30% = 35.28
35.28 - 30% = 24.696
so those are the numbers we should be seeing, not many % based buffs will stack additively, this in most cases could let you get to 100% damage resistance, which would be OP, things like coolers also stack in a compounding way, for coolers 100% cooling makes your cooling twice as fast, if they stacked additively, 200% cooling would mean cooldown is instant, however again, coolers stack in a compounding way
100% cooling would reduce 8 seconds, down to 4 seconds, 200% cooling reduced 4 seconds down to 2 seconds etc etc
radiators stack additively however 100% radiator gives you 2x firing time, 200% radiator gives you 3X firing time etc etc if the stacked in a compounding way radiators would be broken, 2 rad's would give you 4X 3 rad's would give you 8X etc
i don't think there's a cap on damage resistance, it's just calculated weirdly. try bastion cab with averter and grizzly perk. gets well below 50% damage resistance
From what I can tell is A: damage resistance is hyperbolic. The more you stack the lower the damage you take will be, but you still get some value out of it. And B: Flat resistance and perk resistance are I guess coded wrong because Bastion with Averter (which averter itself only does about 23% when you get to the actual reduction math on itself) DOES go past the 50% like you said, tho it gets inconsistent when you add on the grizzly copilot. I’ve had numbers anywhere from 53% to 71% reduction using a single Joule as the test weapon

Damage reduction stacks highest to lowest multiplicatively.
50% off total, then 30% off of the 50% value. Then 25% off the 30% off 50% off value.
It gets pretty great but never a flat 100%

ok so I was a little wrong in my last post, first of all let me say that, their are two types of resistance in this game, and they are calculated differently, resistance type 1 are flat resistance stacks, non perk based thing, this includes stuff like goliath tracks etc type 1 resistance is calculated like this "damage" X (1 - %) =
type 2 resistance, which is what we are working with here is "damage" / (1 + %) =
type 2 resistance is additive, but type 1 and type 2 resistance stack multiplicatively with type 2 being calculated first, then type 1 being calculated second
lets look at your test and put it into numbers
72 / (1 + 0.30) = 55.38
72 / (1 + 0.60) = 45
72 / (1 + 0.90) = 37.89
so you can see, theirs not really a hard cap of 50% but 50% is the reasonable limit of what you can currently reach in game if you fuse the ermac cab, however, if you could manage to get 200% damage resistance, the damage in this test would only down to 24 and with 1000% damage resistance, the damage would only go down to 6.54, which is honestly kind of stupid but, it is clearly done this way to prevent people from absolutely being able to break the game
Yeah makes sense. On the other hand that is what super tanky build should feel like. way back in the beginning they nerfed heavy cabins their energy because they were meant for tanky build and I would be okay with super tanky heavy builds with half the energy and then light squishy fast builds with more energy but weapons on those tanky builds would also need more resistance but that's a ton of work to rebalance everything so I guess they just dropped that idea. wish my trucker cab would get his energy back though

when I was doing blast damage testing for this weapons, on my standard test setup I have a wall, and then a bunch of pieces off to one side with only 7 durability each, if i shoot the setup i manage to knock off 4 pieces/ squares, compared to something like the little boy for example will knock off 8 pieces, oddly enough if i shoot a different part, I can sometimes manage to destroy pieces that are behind other pieces, the blast damage will skip, a number of pieces, and then destroy pieces behind it, I have no idea what is going on with the blast damage of this weapon, it makes no sense
THIS is just now with the players that bought the battlespass levels or could afford the Heathers on the market! It's gonna be even more fun in a few weeks :D

Jb maybe percentage is calculated differently my guy, starts with the highest percent off the max damage then it subtracts from the ammount after the 1st percent is subtractes

Why does the King boost reload? It doesnt say in the description of it, its something ive been wondering for a while
I think it has something to do with either some module or a cabin, but i dont know of any that would make it boost reload (mostly because i dont know all the parts and their perks)
A king with the hadron cabin boosts reload.
Because the reload of the mine is so fast, the hadron splits reload evenly. So super slow shot with super fast mine means faster reload for slow gun.

the rate of fire is terrible on it. last night on my rocket build one snuck up behind me and blasted me from behind and it stripped me so i just u turned around and self destructed head on into it and blew it up

The splash damage radius is pretty mediocre. Shots that you think should definitely be doing damage do nothing.

Why does adding the king minelayer reduce reload time?
it's because of the hadron cabin. the perk of that cabin takes the reload of your long reload weapon and short reload weapon and distributes the reload equally to all weapons so the king mine reload the fastest so there for a weapon with a long reload and a king mine makes the weapon shoot faster.

Hey JB can you plz test what is better Durability or Resistance to damage?
Already did buddy and it's comes down to the same thing. i tested it on a mammoth cannon and both got shot of at the same time weather they had +10 dura or +10 resistance. Some players say resistance is better and some still say dura so I don't think it really matters.
Oh more dura might come in handy if you have perks that already give resistance because as you saw more resistance perks don't stack
Right now the Avalanche rocks, but once Gaijin gets paid for it, meaning no one will buy it any longer, they will nerf it like they do all other things that really work...

That's not how damage resistance works and you are probably mixing it with damage reduction. The game does it correctly. There is no resistance cap and they stack perfectly. Example in your video:
Everything has a base resistance of 1. For 30% damage resistance, whirls do 72 / (1 + 30%) = 55 on averter, 72 / (1 + 30% + 30%) = 45 on averter and grizzly, 72/ (1 + 90%) = 37 with Ermak. For damage reduction (Bastion), it's 72 * (1 - 50%) = 36. If you think the resistance calculation is weird, it's actually not. Think about electric current = voltage / resistance.
