@mickbanner Doesn't matter as Doku's boot, studs shouldn't be above the waist. A high-boot is "Dangerous Play".
"player makes a reckless or dangerous play for the ball by kicking above the waist level of an opposition player.
High boot moves are exemplified by the motion where a player leads with the studs of his boot. Such moves make other players prone to hurtful contact."
Referee and VAR need to study the rule book. 🤣

Rules in relation to a high-boot (Dangerous Play):
"player makes a reckless or dangerous play for the ball by kicking above the waist level of an opposition player.
High boot moves are exemplified by the motion where a player leads with the studs of his boot. Such moves make other players prone to hurtful contact."
It's a foul by the rules of the game and a clear penalty. The referee and VAR have yet again got it wrong.

@rakimrobinson6505 You do understand the concept of "Rules" and a High-Boot above the waist is a foul even if there isn't contact as it is deemed "Dangerous Play".
"The following fouls are punished with an indirect free kick as long as there is no contact (contact fouls require a direct free kick): playing dangerously* e.g. high foot (no contact) obstructing/impeding an opponent's progress** (no contact) preventing/blocking a goalkeeper from releasing the ball from their hands"
I suggest reading and comprehending the rules in relation to Football before making loudious statements.

Or, if we want to take doubt of the occasion or the biases. Mane vs Ederson a few years ago. Doku & Mane both following the ball with their eyes, but both raise their foot into a high position that could cause injury to the opposition player they are up against. Mane is sent off directly (correctly, his foot was higher and catches Ederson's head) and Doku gets away with it somehow.

  • @edenholt4394
    @edenholt4394 Před 2 měsíci +12

City fan here, from the second Mac Allister scored the tone shifted entirely - up until that point I could hear the city fans “boys in blue” chant but from them on it was purely the roar of Liverpool fans and the team instantly responded to it, they were far and away the better team in that second half and I think we got outrageously lucky that the foul was not given. That draw was incredibly important for us though, had we lost it would’ve felt like Liverpool would run away with it, especially considering they have arguably the easiest remaining fixtures between us. It’s going to be an exciting 10 weeks that’s for sure…

It should be an exciting next 10 matches. I looked at the fixtures for all 3 clubs and IMO your City boys have it easiest. We all have 5 home and 5 away matches. You lot have 4 clubs (Arsenal, Villa, Wolves, West Ham) currently in the top half of the table at home and 2 (Spurs and Brighton & Hove) in the top half away. Arsenal at home will be your toughest match. We, Liverpool, have 3 home matches vs top half sides (Brighton & Hove, Spurs, and Wolves) and 3 away matches vs top half sides (United, West Ham, and Villa). Arsenal only have 1 home match vs a top half side and that's vs Villa, but ALL 5 of their away matches are vs top half sides: City, Brighton & Hove, Wolves, Spurs, and United.
With such a tough away schedule I think Arsenal drops some points. I think it comes down to City v Liverpool, which is why we needed to win this match and go 4pts clear of City. We're going to have to be nearly perfect these last 10 matches to stay ahead of City since their schedule is a bit easier than ours. Just as this match ending in a draw was the best thing for Arsenal then the best thing for Liverpool would be for City v Arsenal to also end in a draw so neither side collects 3pts.
Glad we only have 3 matches the rest of this month (maybe the EPL will reschedule the match away to Everton for later this month) as it will give our banged up walking wounded more opportunity to get fit for the stretch run. It'd be nice to edge City by a point for the title for a change.

On the penalty shout, even if Doku gets the ball first it is irrelevant, he has to put his foot high and dangerously to do so, and the contact with the player is either simultaneous, or immediately after the touch. Therefore it cannot be argued Mac Alister arrived late and simply ran into Doku to buy a foul (as some have claimed). Stonewall penalty.

Managers allowed 2 Ref Challenges per game.... only way to counter corruption / incompetence.
This isn't about petulance. It provides a counter balance opportunity by each team to Challenge the ref to go to the monitor manually review a situation, and demand explanation of their decision making in real time.
This creates a context for accountability. The Ref today, will not want to have their decision making or lack of highlighted by potential challenge. The manager has the opportunity to demand a review

Haaland absolutely nonexistent. Rodri was shown up big time. Pep got it wrong in the second half. Liverpool shown everyone in the league how to cause City problems, you have to cause chaos, press, have way more energy than them. Thought Elliott was brilliant on both ends and had unlimited energy. Endo was amazing, so many of Liverpool's chances came from Endo winning tackles in midfield. Mac Allister is world world class. Ortega was impressive when he came on. Still think he's a better shot stopper than Ederson.
City got away with murder at the end. that's a stone wall pen and borderline red card. Studs into the chest is unacceptable. The handball chat is silly, its in the armpit and on the sleeve. It doesn't matter who gets the ball, his studs go into his chest, at a normal chest height. It a very obvious penalty. I'm surprised there is even debate over this. Thought it was certainly getting overturned, to the point where I didn't even react to it not getting given originally and just went "VAR will get that".
Thought Walker was very lucky to not see red for the challenge on Salah. It's 2 foot off the ground, studs up and with force. Refs are so inconsistent with this rule.
