Just picked up an ARC 560 8GB 149.00, to replace my current desktop, have an RX6600 that has no fan curve even thru AMD Adrenalin. Fans go 0 to 2000 rpm at 50. Did not do it in my gaming rig, replaced that with the RX7600XT 16GB which again MicroCenter had it for 299.00. Yeah I spend a few on Hardware. Have built 4 pc's, upgraded 2 picked up an old HP Compaq for 15 bucks added ram, needed parallel port for old hardware. Have the stock myself to retro build. My basement looks like a PC store. With Oleds I dunno Daniel, QD OLEDs: only okish blacks while in bright room, great contrast otherwise with glossy finish, luminance in realistic scenarios is higher than WOLED (even when WOLED has higher peak brightness), ever so slightly better text. WOLED has 480hz mode, matt finish (not a fan), in theory higher brightness, but in reality only with white colors, perfect blacks even in sunny day. Both are good, would rather focus on "bright room/dark room" thing at this point.

    B980 Xe 64/256 bus/16-24gb/250-300W (launch H1)
    B970 Xe 56/256 bus/16gb/225-250W (launch after B980)
    Mobile Xe 40/192 bus/12gb (launch 2025 with the new mobile CPU)
    Those very low value chips you were guessing for Battlemage I believe are Alchemist for the mobile. Mobile Battlemage is delayed because the CPU is delayed and last mobile CPU was just a refresh for the refresh and that is not what we want for the mobile Battlemage. 384 EU at 1.8GHz and 2.05GHz. That fits in the category of mobile and Alchemist.

    • @gaav87
      @gaav87 Před měsícem +1

      The xe 56 and 64 are canned.
      From shipping manifests and sisofsandra benchmarks
      There is xe 48/ 384EU / 3456S ~30-32TFLOPs FP32 (~4070 performance)
      xe 24 / 192EU ~15 Tflops FP32 (4060ti perf)
      xe 20 / 160eu ~12Tflops FP32 (4060 perf)
      You looking at the data wrong the "1.8ghz" is the base clock. The boost clock is around 2.4ghz
      You can easyly calculate the TFLOP FP32 based on:
      24(cores) x 8(EU) x (32FP32 x clock) =TFLOPs FP32
      Clock ~2350mhz gets u almost exact value of siofsandra data for the 24xe core variant.

Plus if they suddenly decide to change the specs and start again it would take lot longer and lot more expensive. Dev will train their AI to perform tasks on data, this requires Machine Learning accelerators from the likes of Nvidia & AMD. The training needs loads of storage and RAM and GPU power.
    When they are done, a small "AI app" is generated with the "neural net" and their weightage for certain parameters. These are specific task apps in that they do only 1 thing, like upscale 720p video to 4K or OCR of Korean text.
    The AI app is then incorporated into a normal app in the phone, like video editor, or a PC with NPU running Windows Co-pilot. When Co-pilot needs to do something like translate spoken English to spoken Chinese, it runs the AI app on the NPU which is tailored for that task. This means the AI App runs faster and used much less power then a normal app using standard algorithm running on the MMU of a normal x86 CPU.

    I been using the LG C1 48" since it was released, actually I preordered it, it has been amazing for years and I been unable to replace it, I tried 4K 240hz Mini-Leds from Samsung/AOC/off brands, also QD-Oled from Dell and Samsung 2nd Gen, my issues with QD-Oled is the grayish/milky looking blacks when even minimal room reflections, its a deal breaker for men, I will be purchasing the C4 42" this black friday, better image processor, better brightness and refresh rate, still, try the new QD-Oled and see how they compare to your C1, you will be surprised

    i still think its worth noting the performance gains over the past years with their driver updates along with the pure amount of silicon put on these chips. they have a massive amount of specs, just like how AMD cards age like fine wine.
    Along with that, as a gamer I’m not a fan of every release, as the industry moves towards constant mtx and predatory practices, I haven’t played a game on release since 2016.
    With the pure amount of silicon, the arc gpus are the MOST hardware/value currently with pretty much no competition in the new market

    glossy panel will show better colours but your room needs to have less sunlight to reduce blacks looking grey and reflections on screen
    cleaning a glossy oled monitor will leave scratches on surface of monitor, noted in hands-on user reviews, rather than just monitors unboxed talking specs and benchmarks
    matte finish has a bit washed colours but more versatile in bright rooms
    screen burn-in an issue and pixel refresh control every 3 hours or so
    normal desktop use and text fringing slightly better with newer oled panels
    ulmb - ultra low motion blur, with backlight strobing can be unjarring or
    eye fatigue with oled monitors, with or without ulmb
    near instant response times for oled although 540hz monitors do seem to be a tad close to those 0.4ms response times nearing 1.25
    the types of games that will take advantage of these response times would be competitive fps games like overwatch2

    I have q 1st generation alienware 34 in 3440x1440p, the text clarity issues are non existing and I am really picky. So don't think about that. The option is reallybeasy. Get the Gigabyte 32in 4k 240hz qd-oled... is the only one with displayport 2.1 with 80gbps... you wont have issues in future. Tha is glossy, otherwise you can pick the same panel from asus, or from alienware or dell... all of them are glossy but displayport 1.4. The msi started with an aggressive price, it is already out of stock or being sold by scalpers. Trust me WOLED are not better, even of on paper their are brighter it is because of the white led on the oixel layout, so it will be brighter but washed out compared to qd-oled oled, just please don't pick a monitor with a matte coating, because it will look like trash next to your oled tv, which is glossy

    i think most Woled monitors use a heavy matte panel, where as most of the qd oleds use glossy. so the qd panels are usually much better for colors and not getting the smeared look. but if you are in a heavily lit room or mostly at the pc during the day you might want the woled instead. anyone that games more at night or can control lighting should go qd oled for sure.

    • @gorjy9610
      @gorjy9610 Před měsícem +1

      qd olded's are actually brighter and better suited for bright lit rooms. But woled is just better or at least more matured tech, most problems people have with xoled monitors and picture degradation are with qdoled models.

    • @tomgreene5388
      @tomgreene5388 Před měsícem

      @@gorjy9610 I'm just saying usually matte panels are usually better for daytime use and glossy for low light use because of the reflections. I hate the grainy smearing from matte panels so my preference is to avoid the woleds. Although there might be a few that are semi matte or glossy out by now, I'm not for sure on that though. the brightness thing doesnt matter if the qd oled is full glossy its going to reflect direct sunlight still. and you dont want to be using an oled panel at full brightness at all times anyways, so i think my point still stands.

    The only thing I'd care about Microsoft doing for handheld gaming is getting to the point where I could use Windows (I don't care about XBox because I'm a gamer) completely as normal on a handheld PC and any 'small screen' features I might need such as touchscreen work. Its notorious for not being great on tablets, and completely fixable. I want to have the device, which is just a mini-PC folks, and be able to take it around with me and do all my Windows tasks on it. The Steam Deck is more than powerful enough to run your email and so on. If I can dock it on my desk, in a dock designed to pair it with monitor, mouse and keyboard, and it runs full windows, its all the PC anyone entry level needs. For instance, a console 'gamer' who wants an Xbox or Playstation doesn't need one if they have a Steam Deck level device but especially doesn't if its a full blown mini-PC that's portable.
    But they should fix Windows tablets first. All this should be one operating system. Instead of the fragmented stuff they've done before. And it'd probably be better on ARM - if we're lucky Qualcomm will prove that later this year (but it'll probably be more like Vision Pro and still useless due to the software - I'm pessimistic).

    • @andersjjensen
      @andersjjensen Před měsícem +3

      SPECviewperf numbers simply doesn't translate to anything useful. All the tests make sure to take memory bottlenecks completely out of the equation, which means they basically run on 100% cache hits. And just getting an aggregate score like this, without knowing how much each subtest is weighted makes it further impossible. Zen5 will switch from "double pump" AVX 512 to true 512 bit wide registers, so that alone could boost all AVX 512 subtests by 100%.
      TL;DR: I find it absolutely plausible that Zen5 is overall a +40% uplift in SPECviewperf. That seems perfectly in line with the 20-25% real-world uplift the leaking scene seems to center on.

The fact is that the specifications of this “console” have already been officially published and, spoiler spoiler, by all indicators it’s just a mini PC X5-Z8350, which they are trying to sell for 3 times more than its cost in our local marketplaces (like Amazon and eBay i dunno how is it in other countries).
