Private rooms are $600-$700 with sharing. You wont find 1 bed apartment in $1200 range, expect atleast 1400-1500 for 2 bedroom apartment.

The following comment is a result of a very recent visit to Moncton after 30 years since the last.
My last visit, there was a Tidal Bore at Bore Park that you could see. Now... it's a "Total Bore", not even a ripple.
Allow me now to enlighten you to the true side of Moncton. It's not raining, it's pouring.
Did you notice the Meth/Jib Heads or "temporarily homeless folk" that were sitting squatted in the Store alcove, they are part of the local scenery and they get bussed here ( 1 way ) from god knows where. I don't know how you were able to get down Main Street without tripping over them, I can't. I've even been accosted by a junkie waving a dirty needle and telling me what he'll do with it if I didn't give him a cigarette... I DON'T smoke and he'll never do it again.
You should film Saint George Street and Vaughn Harvey Blvd. 🙄
THAT 🤨is Clean Needle Central and home of free government supplied drugs AND even a "safe place" to shoot up... there's a food bank that gives out good food to foreign people driving $60,000 to $100,000 + cars and trucks while the local Senior Citizens that drive 20 year old vehicles get rotting produce and collectively useless items... a free Church meal lineup that gets in the street and hinders traffic... and as a topper, there are folks doing the "Fentanyl Zombie Sleep" on the corners... these people are dangerous. You can't take a walk in any city park without getting used and dirty ( biologically used ) needles in your bare feet/footwear so take heed: If you are new to Moncton... DON'T go anywhere barefoot ( nor let your children ) in the summer.
Did I forget to mention the Grocery cart Trains you can see approaching in your driving lane... or the foreigners walking in your driving lane instead of using the city provided sidewalks???
Use extreme caution while in this city.. it isn't like it used to be, not by a long shot. If you're just visiting, don't stay too long and careful where you go or you could become a victim.
All of Canada is like this now
