make sure to check bulletin board before the black market if you have black boxes, ancient artifacts, rebel plans etc. There's often missions looking for them and they pay more.
I found an USS earlier today with a single Asp who was wanted. I destroyed him, earned a 16k bounty and went back to the cargo he dropped. Loads of chemical waste but there were also four cannisters of some "jellotine modifier" or something as daftly named. Looted all four then flew back to the station.
Each cannister was worth 11k on the Black Market! And this USS was right on the door step of the station!
So I made 60k for five minutes work!

Nice vid enjoyed the tips. Just a mini tip i heard along the way - when you sell your ship you sell it and its modules at 10% less than purchase price. However if you go into outfitting and sell your modules first you sell them for the full price of purchase and therefore get more money on your final ship sale.

Thanks or this - I actually searched for non-combat ED tutorials and this came up so I watched it.
The reason I searched non combat is because I got started yesterday and I SUCK at combat. I didn't even survive the advanced combat training so I have been focusing on just doing deliveries to earn money. I have managed to buy the Eagle which is apparently a more combat based vessel but doesn't have the gimbal weapons when you buy it so I find it a bit harder to kill anything as a new player. I think the gimbals are like 40k each.
Anyway, this tutorial gave me more confidence to try using combat to my advantage so thank you

Really nice tutorial and love the arrow inserts so to know what to look at etc. I would skip the Eagle and go for the Cobra MkIII as it has much better jump range and weapons and extras. Eagles are good for missions that have a low time frame to get your mission finished quick. Bounty Hunting I'd go for Federation 'High Extraction Sites' as they help you kill bounties and get more money for the wanted kills. Oh and go for 'High Extraction Sites that have High Metal resources, that way the bounties are higher. You can attack Pythons, Anacondas's in these sectors as the Fed Police hit the pirates mostly, wait till the shields are down to at least 20% and put a few shots in yourself. Pirates won't attack you so you can take on much bigger ships in either your sidewinder of Cobra MkIII. DON'T use Point Defence as it destroys the Fed Police's missiles aim at the Pirates, after all we all want to kill the bad guys so by shooting the Feds missiles it will take you longer to kill the pirate your after. Love the tutorial Commander so going to hit the subscribe button for you and tag along. I play on Xbox One

You should really specify that your GUI is a different color than the default holograms. I can see many beginners getting sorely confused by the "yellow" bar part, when it's typically blue.

I remember while in my sidewinder starter I was destroying higher bounties by getting feds to damage them
any tips with tracking enemys? ive just started playing this on ps4 and its so frustrating. cant even get through the combat tutorial, soon as i start firing on an enemy they turn and fly behind me and start shooting, i cant do anything. i cant turn quick enough to see them, so i just end up looking all over the place trying to find the enemy ship using the little radar thingy but its damn near impossible.

Turn off flight assist for long turns, make sure your ship has grade A thrusters of max rank or special thrusters for 2-3 size engines, and use boost to get far enough away that they can’t circle you easily. Also, use gimballed weapons. The damage may be lower, but you hit more shots.
Psst - better distributors have boosts more often.
I cannot believe the difference a docking computer makes. makes things flow much faster and smoother and it was only 4500 credits

3,000 is good? I literally just got the game, and my first quest was for 80,000... It told me to deliver 3 slaves to a different station. The hard part was figuring out how to get out of jump shift drive once reaching my destination! xD

got this game for $15 on steam.. and flying combat (in the tutorial) is very difficult.. at first i was using keyboard + mouse but had to switch to a PS3 controller which was a little bit earier but its still hard to properly lock on to a target and shoot at it
This game has future, it has a certain charm to it... I might actually buy it, who knows.
i need help for fitting out a ship i got a fer-de-lance as i hear its a good combat ship its sheilds are 5c Bi-weve and military composite everything is mostly A grade, the sheilds are a pain in the ass they take ages to charge up im constantly at war with those pips, my cockpit keeps been smashed so i have an oxygen limit with no hud it can be a challenge getting back to the station to repair it, after all i hear about this FDL been so good i aint feeling it, ive tried 5A sheilds they even worse the bi-weve is better but not by much. no the system authority dont kill you for a few stray bullets acciedents happen, you get a caution if it wasnt ment for them.
So how do you get your dashboard the funky colour?

Old way still works, make sure you change both the one in the F-DEV folder and the x64 one in the other folder.

I remember when I started playing and for a pretty long time I was just flying around wondering how do I make money. I remember when I killed a Viper in uss and I was like “16k ? Thats a load of money” and then I bought an Eagle. Good times.
But how do you do combat missions?

how do you invade People while in supercruise?
still got that Problem
DaTscheka you will have an escape vector on screen, you have to point your ship in that direction. It keeps changing. If you do it good enough you might escape.
If you don't, you will drop out of supercruise. But If you are caught this way, you can often simply run and keep boosting away, especially from NPC pirates.
When your frameshift drive has recovered (it takes a while) you can press J or whatever to get back into supercruise. Make sure you have a good destination for supercruise or you might get an error saying "align ship with target" or something,, I forget exactly how it goes, if you have one of the ships you are running from targeted. Because it is behind you.
A good tip for avoiding interdictions all together is don't stick to the ecliptic. That is the plane where all the planets rotate in, and it is the shortest path from the star to the planets. But it is also where all the pirates hang out. If you go up and then down away from the ecliptic, you probably will avoid them :3*

I finally got this game and just do bounty hunting all day it pays really well just following authorities and shooting what they shoot. At high resource extraction site. If anyone reads this send me a friend request I go by the same name on CZcams I dock at Ashby City around Luyten's Star.

i have a vulture and want to take on a anaconda.. i saw people on youtube fighting an anaconda and won easily.. but i cant get the shields down before i am dead..
+KleytenHD You need to constantly stay behind him. With a bit of training you will be able to shoot Anacondas down easily with a Vulture, as they are far less maneuverable than you
Nice tutorial Sty. Just too bad this is only really viable early in the game, at least if you want to get a good ship. Once you have the money for a decent freighter, and to fill it with cargo, trading is just way more profitable in every way.

Only thing you can do to prevent interdictions is to keep your ship aimed at the circle once it's happening. You'll know you're doing it right because the blue bar on the left will start going up. Once it reaches the top you'll escape the interdiction and be on your merry way! They can be a little tricky especially if your ship has horrible turning but be prepared if you fail to escape :) hope this helped

Try out the Barons Blue UI instead of the dark blue, wont be so hard to read!
It's all down to personal opinion. Use whatever ui colour you like :)

You've got to be kidding me, right? *"ULTIMATE guide for combat"*? It covers almost no actual combat processes, and talks about tons of general knowledge beginner stuff about non-combat related tips. There are other guides that cover navigation and fuel/energy management techniques.. If that's what I was after, I'd have gone to them.
Actually making use of all the combat related gear, like kill warrant scanners and interdiction, now that's what I was hoping/expecting to find in an "ULTIMATE" combat guide.

Man I'm frustrated with this game. Nothing makes sense, nothing works, servers constantly going down, no direction to follow, No story. Despite having a Viper mkIII with 3A shield generator and upgraded hull im still getting destroyed by ai controlled eagles by one shot. It's fucking Bullshit. Ask Frontier for support but thier too busy adding more systems and content rather then making it feasible and functional. How this game is 9 of 10 is beyond me. Fuck No Man's Sky plays better. I really want to love this game. But i feel Frontier doesn't want us too. Played two weeks straight and all I can do is boom data or transport people, but moment i want to combat the game just gives me the finger. Thanks for your tutorial but i didn't work for me. Not your fault I blame the developers.
