    The Horizon T101 is consistently one of Horizon’s best selling treadmills and for good reason: it has all the essentials at a great price!
    The T101 deck pivots to a 10% incline and it will go up to 10mph. The running surface is 20” by 55” long -- and it folds up when you are done! The T101 features 3 Zone variable cushioning which is adjustable via a knob on the side of the track.
    Some of our favorite features include:
    3-Zone variable response cushioning in deck
    Gentle cushioning in the deck absorbs impact force when walking or jogging. This allows you to exercise without discomfort or pain.
    Preset Speed and Incline Buttons
    Preset speed and incline buttons on the console are visible and within easy reach. These allow you to jump from one speed to another or quickly adjust incline.
    EKG grip sensors on handlebars
    Placed directly under the console on the horizontal grip bar, the EKG sensors transmit your heart rate right to the console display.
    FeatherLight Folding
    The T101 folds up easily and locks in place when not in use. This reduces the amount of dedicated floor space you need for your treadmill.
    Max User Weight: 300lb
    The 300lb weight capacity is impressive on a treadmill this size! Users of all sizes can enjoy and benefit from the cushioned deck.
    LED Display Metrics: Calories, Distance, Heart Rate, Incline, Speed, Time
    The LED display keeps track of your stats during a workout with multiple adjustable stats.
    Tablet Rack for your device
    A tablet rack in the middle of the console is a great place to set a phone or tablet. You can listen to a podcast, watch a show or even read a book on your device.
    0 - 10% Incline range
    Incline range is how far your treadmill will pivot upward. As the front end of the tread deck rises, it becomes more challenging to walk. This hill work builds muscle in the legs without having to run.
    Lifetime Warranty on Motor and Frame
    Horizon is one of the few treadmill companies that still offer Lifetime warranty. This reflects the quality construction of the T101 as the company stands behind the product.

For programs getting up to 4mph, it does start to feel a bit unhappy. But I now walk on it comfortably at 3.2 mph and have done 2 1-hour sessions in a day, just fine.

    I just received this T101 treadmill on Dec. 8. I do like that it is quiet. So far, I have tried to use the "Manual program"...and that's all I really want to use, to be able to set the speed and time myself. But, it doesn't stay at a constant stable speed. The speed became irregular after about 15-20 minutes. The worse part is that it will speed up without any indication/warning, even too dangerous fast and then slow down to very slow speed. I have tried to get tech help, via phone, online form and email. I even sent them a video clip. Not sure if it's because of holiday or pandemic delay, so far I haven't received feed back. I know this year is hard for every body, but I really like it to work and not scare to get on the treadmill.

There was a huge crack just after one week use. And, it is so ture that it is IMPOSSIBLE to reach out to their bad customer service, it usually takes 3-4 weeks form them to reply and like you mentioned the replacement parts also take forever to ship and deliver, even the repair contractor who is responsible for my case also complianted about their customer service. This treadmill is so reasonably priced. I am a casual jogger that typically runs for about 30 mins at a moderate pace. I wonder if this T101 would be a good fit for my home? There is lots of rain on the west coast and prefer to run inside. I don't see myself walking that much. I noticed the other treadmills from Horizon have the same width. I am 180lbs 5'9".

    • @TreadmillReviewGuru
      @TreadmillReviewGuru  Před 3 lety +5

      The Horizon T101 is a good little treadmill. For regular running, we recommend looking for a motor that is close to 3.0 horsepower if possible. If you run at or below 6mph a few times per week, you'll be fine with the T101. If your pace is slightly faster than that, and/or if you run everyday, we'd recommend looking at the T202 which has a 2.75HP and is 60" long rather than 55". However, we are consistently impressed with Horizon's build quality and they do back up their frame and motor with a full lifetime warranty, so you'll probably be fine with the T101 (we just always err on the side of power when it comes to motor size.) Good luck!

  • @ToysNGamesFan
    @ToysNGamesFan Před 3 lety +4

    Thanks for the great and detailed review! The Horizon T101 seems like an excellent treadmill. However, it lacks the heart rate program and does not work with a heart rate chest strap, which only T303 has. I found a similar treadmill from Schwinn (810) has both, but with the current discount with Horizon, the Schwinn 810 is more expensive. In your opinion, which of the two treadmills is better in terms of both built and features? If Horizon is better, perhaps it is worthwhile to forego the heart rate program for a better built machine, but I do want the heart rate program.

    • @TreadmillReviewGuru
      @TreadmillReviewGuru  Před 3 lety +4

      The Horizon T101 is a good entry-level treadmill, but it does lack certain features and doesn't have the best record for durability. We'd probably recommend looking at the Schwinn 810 or even the Sole F63. It's a bit more expensive but much more reliable and it has heart rate training.

    Great review overall! I have coule questions: since this treadmill is meant for light walker and the reviewer especially mentioned that it is not for long duration of running, how durablee would it be for a moderate runner(around 5-7 MPH)? Or should I look into T202 for this purpose? Also does it have pause function because I know some treadmills only allows you to stop the entire session even if you just want to simply pause it and grab a water.

    • @TreadmillReviewGuru
      @TreadmillReviewGuru  Před 3 lety +2

      The treadmill will pause briefly if you need to step away. Due to the size of the deck and motor, the T101 is ideal for walking and light jogging. The 55" length is enough for a comfortable walking gait and the 2.5HP motor handles walking and jogging speeds fine. The T202 is longer at 60" and has a 2.75HP motor, so it provides more kickback span for a longer running stride and the larger motor suits faster running speeds. The T101 will support running at 5-7mph - it's not going to break down - but it is slightly more taxing on the motor and you don't get quite as much deck length. The T202 will support that pace a bit easier especially if you plan to run longer distances. The extra length is nice as well. You could go with either, but if your budget permits, we'd recommend the T202.

      We've tested ours using multiple speeds and users. It holds up fine. With long term use, it may wear out faster than the T202 or T303 which have larger motors... but really it's sufficiently powered for regular use. However, the console on this one is a bit limited, so if you want more functionality, you may want to upgrade for that reason.

    • @TreadmillReviewGuru
      @TreadmillReviewGuru  Před 3 lety

      The T101 is a solid little treadmill. It is not very large and the motor is just at the cusp of what we recommend for regular running. However, if you are a petite user with a moderate pace you'll probably be fine. The cushioning is a bit more extensive on the higher models, but this is a comfort and not functionality issue.

After trying to contact them several times with nothing other than an automated response, I called Dick's and they said if I paid for a warranty with them they would send a tech. I said why should I do that when the manufacturer (their vendor) has a warranty.
    Bottom line is the product is cheap for a reason. If you have a problem, your lugging it back to the store or getting ripped off again to get it fixed.

      The T101 will fold, so you can fold and roll it. If your doorframe is wide enough, you may be able to roll it through. We'd recommend measuring your doorframe and possibly removing the door from the hinges before you disassemble the treadmill. If you need to disassemble it, you'll have to remove the console and possibly the uprights. We only suggest this as a last resort.

    • @TreadmillReviewGuru
      @TreadmillReviewGuru  Před 3 lety +2

      We recommend the T101 for users under 6 feet tall because the deck is only 55" long rather than 60" long. The motor is 2.5hp which is good for walking or some quick intervals, but may not be sufficient for longer distances (>6miles at >6mph) For taller users or those who need the full 60" of length, we recommend looking at the T202 which is a bit longer and has a larger motor.

      We think you should be okay. Your weight and speed are well within range. Walking 10+ miles per day is quite a distance however, and this could be taxing on the motor over time. An upgrade to the T202 would not be a bad idea if you can afford it. However, we are consistently impressed with the T101 and it is excellent for walking. It also has a full lifetime warranty on the frame and motor which would cover any issues in the future.
