Lyle Mays ❤😢
No words. RIP, Lyle!❤
Always when I listening to Pat Metheny he is touching something deep inside of me. It go’s further then just music. When he is playing you’re in a place between earth and heaven❤️🙏🏻
This is sublime. Boy, do I miss Lyle Mays.
My heart aches
Oui , Lyle Mays est une grande perte pour la musique !!
How can you miss Lyle Mays? Unless he was your neighbor perhaps, but you have access to his talents for the rest of your life
Out of all of the drummers that Pat Metheny has played and worked with in his long career, some of those who are legendary but not since the days of Dave Weckl have i seen someone who has helped change the drumming game quite like Antonio Sanchez. Whereas Dan Gottlieb who is a fusion guy and Paul Wertico leans more towards the avant garde style of playing, Antonio Sanchez for me is the whole package, he brings a lot of energy and power into not only his playing but the music as well. When he joined PMG in the 00s, he definitely helped beef up their sound in a big way and gave them a very muscular feel. When it's all set and done, Antonio Sanchez could very well be the greatest drummer that Pat Metheny has ever played with on stage and for me, they are the best guitar drum combo since Allan Holdsworth & Chad Wackerman, the fact that Sanchez has played in virtually every Metheny led project and band is a true testament to his incredible chameleon like ability. He truly is the best in the world.
Thanks Cuong Vu , Steve Rodby , Richard Bona , Antonio Sanchez , Pat Metheny & Lyle Mays , ALL of you are GENIUSES Level GODS
😃
That last on the guitar is the best.
Love this DVD…. Probably my favorite. Pat takes flight once/(twice) again….
Watching Lyle hits all the ‘feels’ after his passing…
This is ‘the shit’. 🐸👍
You forgot Richard Bona on guitar and vocals 🤷🏾♀️
The greatest album of all time, undoubtedly
A melody that should exist. Phrasing that Mozart would be proud of, played by a wonderful ensemble of musicians.
I think this is better than the studio version. Fantastic stuff.
At this concert, Antonio played an impressive solo in four different tempos in four paws. It took a while to get going, but the effect is stunning.
The DVD from this tour is essential for PMG fans. All members of this version of PMG were simply terrific. Lyle Mays contributions transcended the history of the group.
@Gabriel Eleres "Speaking of Now Live"
Absolutely transcends....
I had not seen this live version. As good as studio version...or still better. Thanks for info about dvd.
@@claudioeternod7064 its extraordinary solo at the end....enjoy
@@ninovasev yessss!!!
Best band of all time. Period.
wooooooooooooooooow extremely magnifiscent
Undoubtedly the most intense and exhilarating 7:50 of music I've ever listened. I revisit this one often!
Everyone firing on *all* cylinders for this one-memorable!!
Yessir facts @JGlassy
Pat Metheny’s project at its best. Top shelf musicians and delivery.
I like much kind of guitarplayers and their music but Pat’s sound and playing always lift me from earth.
OUTSTANDING performance.
Amazing, simply amazing!
Mi santa madre. Pero que nivel de música es este grupo...y me vienen con el maldito regaeton...esta gente no saben lo que se pierden...tendran los oídos tapado de polvos.
Simplemente magia....❤
so much power, yet so much control in Antonio's playing. i was blessed to have met him in Singapore after a Metheny gig, and he signed my ticket.
I have this on DVD. Bought it as soon as it came out! Before YT existed’
That was my first time PMG concert ever.
There were three shows, nine hours in two days.
Amazing!!! ❤❤❤
That was absolutely brilliant! I loved it!
1:54 the sound is so smooth, even Pat looks back at Richard.
Thanks Tony, lovely crisp recording , you must be very proud of all your work in the larger PMG , hope you continue with last years quartet sometime soon?
Thanks for sharing Antonio. I've followed Pat since about 1979 when I was in high school. I appreciate all his work, but the Group work is definitely my favorite. From an outsider's perspective, it seemed you added a unique "spark" and creativity to the band. To Pat. Having seen a bunch of shows and then the first time seeing you and how the set started with you playing solo... driving and then Pat came in. It was different, charged and truly special. It would have been great to see another Group recording come along... Maybe some time in the future..... :)
I was wondering when you started with Pat, did he request specific cymbals be used i.e. flat rides?
cada vez que escucho este tema se me paran los pelos!!
Unreal ❤
Genial,brilhante!
What an ecstasy.....
How come no credits for Richard Bona???
Did you forget Richard...
Richard Bona
one of the greatest guitarists and composers, playing the ugliest guitar ever lol!😄
