So with a QB who’s obviously hurt and the #2 RB in the league.. you decide not to run the ball... and leave a rookie Tackle solo against the front runner for DPOY... how did Stefanski think that was gonna be a winning strategy??

It says the Browns may take one of the 2 top QBs if they fall to them though I don't think they would make a Bears move for one of them, maybe a 2nd to move up. They may want to convince the owner and fans this is not Love in GB and he does not want static from fans or veto from ownership if it happens. If they don't have a move on QB when he is gone, they might as well blow up the team to get a top 10 pick. I would like to see them deal with a $40M cap hit from a big QB, I think they would have a hard time preforming at even their current level with the cuts they would have to make. GB or Seattle had several years not signing free agents to get where they are, you drop that on a team not prepared there are cuts, dead cap, more cuts.

it honestly kind of feels like the browns purposely were hanging baker out to dry, so to speak. they have the best interior o-line in the league and a top 5 running back yet constantly put baker in situations where you almost know he won't succeed. add on top of the injuries he's playing with. i'm not advocating that baker is anything more than average either, i'm more making the point that this is perhaps the most blatant example of the organization as a whole constantly ruining quarterbacks by putting them in situations where they cannot succeed. there is no reason chubb should not be getting at minimum 20 carries a game. it's very frustrating to watch as a fan bc you're essentially stuck with baker for at least another season, barring some crazy acquisition for watson or rodgers; trading for players like cousins or carr make no sense as that's at best a very minor upgrade. so why not put your team in the best position to compete and win by utilizing your strengths instead of trying to make baker into something he's not, or not yet. makes no sense to me other than to just sum it up as, it's cleveland.

Also if he’s so injured why is he lowering his left shoulder to initiate contact on a QB run? Using injuries as an excuses doesn’t have anything to do with his horrible footwork, decision-making, and inability to read defenses

When people say Baker is a poor man's Philip Rivers, I see more of a Middle Class Blake Bortles

Chubb shouldn’t take another Carry all year. Save those miles for when you’re not eliminated from the playoffs. These guys only last about 2000 Carries MAX.

Fun fact… the GB Packers of Wisconsin, TJ’s home…. Yea they passed on TJ in the draft even though they need an OLB. Same front office that wants / wanted to move on from Rodgers. FML 🤦‍♂️

I’m a Steelers fan and I want baker. I think he’s kind of like a Carson wentz trade. I think we could work with him it we just need an offensive coordinator. It’s a miracle we won 8 games this year. Rudy isn’t it at all. I don’t really want a young QB in the draft because he can’t learn behind an experienced QB. We aren’t in full rebuild mode yet because we’ve already got some solid talent.

Baker could start for half the teams in the NFL. I wouldn't pay him top shelf money to sacrifice the payroll for the rest of the team. If Cleveland took a page from the Pats' complementary handbook; run the ball, strong D up front, good special teams, don't turn it over, they'd be in the playoffs. I could see Baker in Denver, New Orleans, or Washington in '22 or '23.

Personal opinion for both sides of the ball for the browns. Their offense is weird. It’s supposed to be run first then spread the ball with the play action pass. They have talented receivers but couldn’t figure how to use them. It feels like only Higgins gets open. The play calling for Odell was never there either. Then on defense the media acts as if it’s elite but it’s really not. The defense is slightly above average with a lot of talented young players but the only stars they have is still Garrett and Ward. I say new head coach. You don’t have much to offer a free agent Vet

As a Browns fan, Kevin is the problem with this team. The coaching staff should have pulled Baker after the Cards game to do surgery and heal up. Look at what the Ravens did with Lamar after his ankle injury. Immediately rested him to heal up. Now they are likely headed to the playoffs and we are done.
Outside of that play calling has been abysmal this year as has general offensive schemes and adjustment. For example TJ was double teamed only TWICE yesterday against a rookie tackle that tried his best. Terrible coaching.

Have you seen Tyler Huntley? He's almost as good a Lamar. Kase is not that. Injured baker was the best qb on the team. Kevin's play calling wasn't very good this year, but to fire the previous coach of the year would be a mistake. Like they say, you can get a new coach, not a better one

The difference is the ravens know Lamar is their franchise. Stefanski doesn’t know if Baker is the future, and so far it doesn’t look like it.

dood has thrown more interceptions than any other active starting qb in the league, and he is the quarterback of a run first play action style team. he just doesnt throw the ball well. injuries aside its always been that because he doesnt handle pressure... at all. hes tough as hell and he clearly cares about his team, but, despite all that, production matters. he had a great season last year but still threw balls to the moon and this year with the injuries it was even worse. for a team with so many offensive weapons and to have been in so many close games they should have won you have to look somewhere. As a browns fan i like sending baker to seattle for russ or even getting huntley from baltimore. maybe even the kid from liberty to develop under a guy like russ.

That Odell tape came within, they had actual film tape. I knew Baker would get exposed the rest of the year. Baker got a fly mouth too so you mix that with his performance ticking time bomb.
