Join me in a day of gardening - transforming the centre section of my tropical garden with some key landscaping principles including balance, focal points, rule of odds and making do with what you already have. Plants include dieffenbachia, ferns, hup This includes the making of a simple planter, potting media used, and how to introduce heights and layers in a small space. Hope you got better soon! ❤
Actually, you really show how gardening really is, it's never perfect on the first try☺
Love this video, so real, non-scripted, spontaneous, witty & funny. Great beautiful outcome!
I was laughing so hard 😹😹😹😹. That’s exactly how I garden. Then I few days later I hate what I did so I dismantle everything. Kim is such a wonderful friend to come help. I need new friends
It's good exercise for us!🤪🌱🌿☘️
@@leafing.around U need to plan b4 making final decisions so that u will not exhaust yourself.
@@leafing.around Irene why not add another hanging fern?
@ana. Me too!
My daughter and I watched this together and she’s spent her breaks from homeschool in our tiny garden moving bricks, talking to the plants and even using her slipper as knee pads, just like you did 🤣
Thanks for inspiring her!! (And me!!)
Oooh a mini me!!!! 😍😊😊🌱☘️🌿Sounds like I need to feature her in a video one day. She can be my gardening assistant!
@@leafing.around she would LOVE that 😆
Hi im 11 yrs old and excact same loving plants !!! 😂 nice to hear theres other kids like me
This is exactly what I do when gardening! Frantic, messy, indecisive, lugging impossible weights, and sometimes staring off into space - either planning the layout or having an existential crisis!😂😂😂
I relate to you so hard!!! Complete with the messy bun and slippers ...and the "ow ow ow! That hurts!"
My husband also mysteriously disappears or becomes deaf when I shout for help to lift soil bags or other manual labour!😅 And when I hunt him down he moans about it being too heavy when he lifts more than that in the gym😠🤛
Hahaha...so happy to know there is a tribe like us! Yeah, my husband the same too - lift weights so macho but has no interest in lifting my gardening needs. "You can DO IT! Lifting weights is good for you..." he says. 😐
@@leafing.around Just be careful not to lift things which are beyond you. It's not worth it. Be patient. Wait until your husband is free and then engage his macho-ness. 😉
@@tonyeclau I shall try! Bit been lifting weights to be stronger!
That Medinilla is to die for
I loved this video. It was so funny. Definitely how I garden.
I am so glad to hear am not the only one😄😬
@@leafing.around I am also here with ur company
Great DIY...Kim was the best Assistant...👍🏾👏🏽
So blessed. You have someone to offer help, be happy.
It was fun Irene. Its good to see how gardening is also a lot of huff n puff. yes an assistant is a plus👍
You show difficulties with rare sincerity and authenticity. Congrats for this and for the result.
Thanks for mentioning my country in your video 😉, always looking forward to your videos because you’re so natural, funny and cute 💚. Love your garden.
Laughing so hard. All gardeners can relate to this. That’s why I would need a day when I need to do something on my garden. My chaotic and fickle minded self can’t help it. Lol you’re lucky Kim’s patient enough to put-up all that. 😂
Once again, amazing video!

Hi, Irene, I am a Chinese lady living in Malaysia almost for 10 years, and I am a gardening enthusiast for many many years. I have been following your videos for more than one month, I have watched every single video. I really like your unique and creative DIY very much, which brings me a brand new aesthetic enjoyment.
You're so funny but I love the vibe! Gardening looks so much fun I'm sure the plants also enjoy being around you. You made my heart smile and made me feel better. Power on!
Odd plant numbers and odd slippers. Right foot on left foot, blue and black. Love it
Thank you! I love seeing the way your design brain works.
I now started watched your VLOGS and I really love it. I really admire how you take your time to take care of your garden and even if you make a mistake you'll take your time to start over again.

You are so funny and refreshing. I have been gardening for over 40 years and grow some beautiful tropicals. You did a great job. Your garden is beautiful. Keep gardening.
I felt so engaged with this video ...I literally felt I was present in your garden the whole time while you were setting them up ....and felt I should look around if you can find the right pot 😆😆
Ah...pls I need an assistant like you too!😄😬

Never thought gardening could be so hilarious! Thanks for sharing! Great work too Kim!
So cute! Love her sense of humor and her determination. The hard work pays off...love your garden.
I think you have perfectly captured the gardening process in this video. The hard way is the best way - great workout routine. I laughed at your humor (your husband does an amazing cricket impersonation)! I, too, am always on the lookout for snakes/rats/icky bugs here in Florida. I also awed at the beauty of your garden. It is so tranquil. Thank you for sharing.
Wow...thank you for such a lovely feedback and being in this gardening session with me!
I love watching you Irene. You do a great job of the gardening but you are also funny and have a really soothing voice. Keep doing more🌺😄

OMG, I love those plants! Wishing and hoping to find two; Beautiful!!!!! Happy Gardening!
Beautiful!!!!! I love your medinilla magnifica and tree ferns. I used to have a medinilla magnifica years ago.
I laffed my ass off when you said husband do you want to help and the crickets were louder than him. I showed my hubby because it is the same here. Ha! Ha! Ha! I'm laughing so hard I'm crying. You're hilarious! You are too much like me.
Haha...yes...it is usually these times he wants me to be THAT independent, strong woman! Imagine that 50s poster of the woman that says "We CAN do it!" 🙄

Great job. You are working very hard but we can tell you are enjoying it.
I love your dieffenbacchia and episcia. Awesome garden project!
44:54 LOL that comment on the water feature 😂
Like your sense of humor
Hai Irene Madam,It was a very realistic presentation in which Kim ,the guest proved how to help others & l liked her humble nature and she took a great effort with you to make the garden more elegant.l also congratulate your great effort.🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿❤️
Thank you! I must invite her back to assist me again😄
I really enjoyed your enthusiasm Irene because I can relate with the chaos. I often decide to start a project Late in the afternoon and will continue through the late evening indoors to complete it . I make a mess but everything always turns out great. Since I know my propensity for doing this, I stock up on supplies ahead of time : top dressings, sphagnum moss, perlite, orchid mediums, coir, pumice, orchid pots , urns, stones etc, etc. I even keep a lot of the nursery pots for extra plants . I don’t throw plants away and those plastic pots don’t end up in the landfill (:
Omg Irene! I absolutely love you! You make me laugh so hard while learning so much. You and Kim (welcome Kim!) are definitely “my people!”
I loved this!🌱🌿☺️Thank you Kim for the help!
Those terracotta drain things are so great!

Awesome garden tips ❤❤
I love your style! Plants move all the time with me, good thing they forgive me! You really get me worried with the snakes, even though the one you found sort of looks cute, for a snake anyway! I hope the kind you get isn't dangerous for you. Happy gardening!
Looking forward to another makeover Irene. Invite Kim again.:)
Love the hard work you’ve done
It is not an easy task but it is worth it 😍👍☀️🙏🌿🌱🦋
I am Philippine nationality but
I'm watching you here Abu Dhabi UAE 🇦🇪
It is the same process as I began a little Vivarium!! Mistakes, what actually are not real mistakes... Struggling... And now, I have me dream Vivarium I always wanted... Still under construction but all the learning lessons I just needed it to do before succes💪
I loved this video a lot..💕💕 from Kerala, India.
love watching you both. i had fun.
I love 💕 the way you do your gardening... Hermosa. I learn so much
seeing too much of myself in your gardening ways... :) i am totally enjoying watching your vlog, and even inspired when you mentioned "Philippines" :) i rarely see that variety of medenilla around here though. what is very common here are those with smaller lighter pink blooms, called medenilla cumingii. thank you for the idea of the rule of "odd"...happy gardening/landscaping!i appreciate you having a "kim" doing all those liftings and shiftings of those heavy terracotta pots. am happy stumbling upon your vlog. :)
You made me laugh, Irene, the gardening looked so funny. Although the situation is recognizable when gardening. We sometimes miss help or strenght... but there is your nice friend Kim!
The medinilla is very beautiful, I love the plant and its flowers.
Grtz
Hi Irene! I really enjoy watching your gardening videos.. got some awesome ideas from you on how to arrange a tropical garden. I will make my own one day😊☺️ take care always! -Jaz from the Philippines..
its very refreshing to watch your videos..pls keep doing it.
Sweety, I recognize an obsessed gardener when I see one. Don't ask me how. It's not like I'm one myself. Not me. Neva eva. 😁 Your videos always put me in a good mood. Your quirky manner of doing things, 💕 reminds me of someone I know!
🤪 glad to brighten up your day, you non gardening person! Do try it...tons of fun!

Well done Kim great work 👏
It was great seeing other folks have some of the same issues we do 🤪 It might even help us think about some of the issues & plan different. Thank you for your video!
I love this. This is exactly what I did. I only have a small compound. I m 68 now. I had a fall yesterday and hurt my elbow
Those Medinillas are gorgeous! Your garden is getting better and more beautiful...wow!

Its feels like i am there with you gardening, always love your shows, very informative.
I love your attitude and engaging personality and your garden. You are young at heart and an inspiration as a gardener. My surroundings are totally different but if I can incorporate a bit more of you then I will enjoy it more. The process is as important as the end.
Hilarious lack of planning but it all worked out in the end! Love your tree ferns, wish I could grow them here.
You made me laughed so hard! That's me, plant something then dig it up again.
That was a good work out though. But it was worth it. It looks really nice.
So great to see someone gardening by feel. You are inspiring Irene.
