Totally agree with the "don't upgrade every year" I just upgraded recently but that was only because was using an iPhone 6s still and it was going to stop upgrading, I also needed to change my battery but also upgrading every year is not great for the environment. I totally see the point if you a youtuber or someone who needs to have a great camera on hand all the time or is in constant need of a large battery to use. I wouldn't say that having or not having an EDC makes you a minimalist. However, it is one of the places you can start practicing minimalism. Remove keychains from your keys, choose a slim wallet. As someone who is also into style, a watch is essential for me whenever I leave the house!
I have found it's helped a lot with keeping some semblance of organization. knowing my keys are in my pocket as they should be and my cards are as they should be.

Minimalism and edc are pretty much on the opposite ends of the spectrum but doable. Here’s mine: Phone, watch, thin wallet, keychain (key, gerber shard and keychain flashlight) and wireless earbuds. All black btw. Great vid! 👌🏻
Small pocket knifes like the 74mm and 58mm Victornix Swiss Army knifes are legal carry in the UK but no knife or sharp object like a screw driver is allowed as carry on when flying. I carry a Swisscard or an Executive pocket knife - both in black. A key chain pocket torch is useful. Victornix Midnite Manager with a press and hold spot light or a full 600 lumen keychain torch like the Rovyvon A8X.
Love this video... Those are my exact everyday carry! My Bellroy wallet, my car key, my phone, my watch and a plain Blistex lip balm! Even my smartwatch always rocking an analog face! Something about the ability to read time and not having to rely on my phone is clutch for me! If anything I feel more naked w/o a watch than any other tool. I will literally drive home from work for it!

Great bit about the wallet-I have a card case for sometime and then i bought a stick-on stand to my phone (I have an 8 Plus, so the stand is a nice touch) for the cards! I found that I had to replace my cards more often because of being exposed. The keys are the next thing that I have to figure out, so I’m checking out what you use! Thanks
Our EDC’s are so similar! Cole Haan minimalist card wallet, leather Volvo key, AirPods (sometimes) and iPhone SE. I also have the Bellroy key case (which lives in my car because someone is nearly always home). I’ll have to check out the Bellroy wallet. Thanks for sharing!

You have described really well the function of a watch in this digital era, not really a need but a passion, a statement. Please don’t give into fashion watches, they are to the craft what fast fashion is to the real clothing industry. If you like quality and minimalistic style, and want to invest some money on a nice mechanical watch, have a look at Junghans Max Bill (Bauhaus style, ideal for an architect!), or Nomos Glashutte. I realise that those may be on the expensive side, but you could have a look at a serious brand even on the cheap: check out the Timex Fairfield series for example! I live in London so we can go over these models in front of a coffee when you fancy!

I’m a woman and I do this. Just depends. It’s easy to find jeans with pockets and I just carry my 1-keys (AirPods connected) 2-phone (someone I use the pop wallet connected to the phone on the back) 3-wallet 4-mask That’s it. So it’s 2-4 pats to check if I have everything and I’m done. I think a lot of woman find it hard to go From a big purse carrying everything to 2-4 things. So they just don’t bother to try and make that change. But I’ve never thought 💭” “damn I really need my hairbrush, mints, gum, charger, extra jacket, huuuge zip up wallet, pocket mirror, makeup” I’ve never liked having a bag. It feels annoying on my shoulder.
@@emilys8890 I 100% understand, but people like mother's or if you are in your period can almost never do that. Or what if your jeans do the have pockets big enough or you don't even like jeans. I get it that it may work for you, but for the majority of women, we really have never been able to do that. I am personally not a person who carrys small extra stuff. I really carry my airpods, phone, and wallet, bet even with so little stuff, my pants just don't have big enough pockets to carry those three simple things, and unlike men who can fit that and probably a lot more. So yeah, I understand that it may work for you, but you also have to consider that not everyone has the same type of lifestyle and maybe if women's pockets weren't so small because that is how companies design them, maybe more women wouldn't carry bags. I hope you understand what I'm trying to say and completely understand your point of view, I just wanted to say that so you understand what I was trying to say.
EDC is a funny thing as it is a super common thread for people that are big time collectors of stuff like watches, knives etc etc. I think we all carry some stuff around and I think figuring out what works can be useful. Like you I carry a card wallet that ive had for years (an old saddleback I got as a gift). I carry my iphone, car keys when Im using the car and I will usually carry a pretty large pocket knife. Kind of a stupid reason but I walk in the woods a lot and honestly want to be able to have some kind of tool to protect my dog from an attack (last resort but it makes me feel safer for my girl haha). Other than that I carry a treat pouch for my dog that has poop bags :). I like to keep it pretty minimal. I will say my phone has a case on it just to prevent accidental breakage.
It's funny, seems I'm not the only one who prefers black for certain items. I used a wallet for years and it fell apart. It wasn't expensive enough, to get it repaired. So my wife bought me a new one (for Christmas). In black but with orange threads on the outside edges. For me, this was like it was purple, but I couldn't explain it to her. She thought all black would be to boring. And especially looked for something less boring.
Excellent Video! I was pleasantly surprised at some of your edc choices. Specifically the sunglasses and TaoTronics wireless headphones. Love the all black carry! Keyfob and wallet are quite lovely. While I rarely wear sunglasses, I always prefer a pair of cheap metal framed ones as opposed to plastic ones that are prone to having their arms fall off. From a durability standpoint, metal may bend, but plastic will crack. As far as my own EDC, I use a cheap Relic Wallet with an integrated bottle opener that I never use, a Fossil Gen 5 smartwatch as some of the features on it such as the flashlight, notifications and ability to see the time in the dark are quite valuable to me, a Cross Classic Century Pen & Pencil set, a Fenix E35 V.30 flashlight, a small carabiner with my keys that clips on to the belt loop on my jeans, and a small cheapo folding pocket knife and of course, my smartphone (Moto G7). Maybe I should lighten my carry 😂. Take care!

I’m not a Minimalist but I just hate having things in my pocket. I use to have only my wallet and phone, but I just started only to carry my phone and put my driver licenses and one credit card inside the phone protector, all you really need.
i share the idea of not spending much on sunglasses and true wireless headphones, we tend to lose or scratch them so i see no point in having the very best. I usually carry a very compact edifier buds (20$) and a dark green sunglasses from Nike, the model is called the Verge and they cost around 45$
Agree that the watch can tell much about a person. But it isn't just about the looks either. The choice of movement (quartz vs mechanical etc), the level of craftsmanship, value for money and misc other stuff say a lot about the wearer as well.

I enjoy your channel, particularly the minimalism stuff, and listening to you talk, you have a great voice and should reach out to audible or get a vocal agent do you can read audio books. There is no one way to be a minimalist. If you like sunglasses, wear them, they are good for your eyes anyway. I hope you keep up the good work

For my keys I got the Orbitkey, everyday keys plus a USB stick! very minimalistic and keeps the key's from touching other pocket items!
