Executive Producer Simon Cowell returns to the star-studded judging panel with global fashion icon Heidi Klum, fan-favorite comedian Howie Mandel and acclaimed actress and international superstar Sofia Vergara. A beautiful performance that brought tears to my eyes! For those who don’t know, the Phoenix is the emblem of Lebanon, we always say Lebanon rises from the ashes like the phoenix, which looks like an impossibility today and this is why it’s very emotional. The last pose that the three ladies did at the end depicts the Statue of the Martyrs in downtown Beirut. With the phoenix standing behind them, it’s representative that we will rise from martyrdom over and over again like a phoenix. Thank you Mayyas for this beautiful performance!

I thought the emblem of lebanon was a cedar tree but thank you so much for sharing. This is a shortened version of their Horra video. If you have any insight into it it will be most appreciated. When I have time I will look into these martrys you speak of.
@@Tuberiascaesar yes the National emblem of Lebanon is the Cedar, it’s portrayed on our flag. The phoenix however dates back to Phoenician mythology, Lebanon was previously known as Phoenicia (or part of it). Still the emblem of the Phoenix is used by some lebanese military units. And it’s part of our folklore.
What the other dance groups seem to forget is that costume is a very important element in a dance performance. Also, the Mayas has a great creative director that makes their performances very mesmerizing, seductive, and magical.

Paying homage to their country LEBANON and its capital city BEIRUT , the choreography was filled with Lebanese symbolism, including a nod to the phoenix ( from LEBANON's old ancestors the PHOENICAINS ) , representing immortality, rising from the ashes. At the same time, at the end of their choreography on the show's Season 18 Finale, the group paid tribute to Beirut's iconic Martyr's Square monument. where a statue with 3 lebanese martyr soldiers carrying the torch of freedom holding eachother ( please check >> Martyr's sqaure monument - Beirut ) --- the PHoenix is the mythical bird of Lebanon who dies but comes to live again from its ashes

Martyrs' Monument was built to honor the hanging of a cross-confessional group of Lebanese Patriots on May 6, 1916, who had spoken against Turkish rule by Ottoman General Jamal Pasha.

The phoenix rising from ashes out of fire 🔥 is a representation of Lebanon’s perseverance against troubles and time. So beautifully done. Bravo 🇱🇧

That was spectacular. Such talent. Voters have to get over their love of dogs….that was NOT the true winner….the dance troupes this year were absolutely amazing.
This show could last 500 seasons, Mayyas will always be the best. They are New York, Paris, Dubai, London, Paris, Berlin, Sydney, Seoul, Las Vegas, Tokyo, etc. No other act is or has been at their level. They would win no matter which year they entered the competition past, present or future.

The imagery was amazing. The fire and the bird represent the Phoenix which Lebanese people identify with because it rises from the ashes. Just like Lebanon has. And the last stance the dancers took is them recreating a statue in Martyrs Square in Beirut.

The costumes are very important for performance, look at Putri Ariani , her costume, she wore at semi final was fabulous, and also at the final was gorgeous. The mayas costumes are magnificent, therefore theirs performance was so enchanting.

I just LUVV when they took out the red flowing fabric out of no where, I wasn’t expecting that. It literally looked like fire and I love how it looked like it was GLOWINGG EEEE and the performance was PERFECTION and the outfits, STUNNING✨👏

I would think if AGT isn't interested in crowning Mayyas the "Million Dollar Act of 2023", then maybe they should turn their attention to one of the mega casinos in Vegas. I've seen lots of awesome shows there, and the Mayyas definitely should be able to get a very lucrative contract with one of them. Beautiful! Phenomenal!!🤩👏 😎👍
They're fine in Lebanon
They took out the first prize in 2022. This was a guest appearance for which they would have been paid an appearance fee. As 2022 winners, they got to perform in Vegas.

I wasn't paying a lot of attention to what was going on in the season finale, I admit (it's my wife's show😉). Anyway, I was about half asleep and just noticed the Mayyas' routine. I loved it, and figured they were part of the competition, rather than special guests. So, everything I hoped for in my comment came true, I guess. 😂 (yeah, I'm not the sharpest Crayon in the box). Anyway, I love their work, and thanks again for squaring me away on the facts. Cheers!😎👍
