- It's been over a month now after the release of 'Reckless (But Make It 80's)' with the ever-talented guys from Vintonic. To close things off in 2021, here's a video for the song - (Apologies for it took quite awhile to get here).
As the title implies, compared to the original version of 'Reckless', We (well Vintonic) took a spin on the song and made it as if It’s out of a John Hughes movie and heck I ended up loving this version as much as the original one. Initially the song was a work of an impulsive idea coming from a conversation between me and and Heston. The song was almost named as ‘Reckless (If this is an 80’s movie prom sequence where everything ends well)’ because it offers a happier perspective compared to the previous one.

Bbrp hari lalu nonton Turning Red di Disney+ dan entah kenapa lagu ini jadi earworm, stuck bgt di kepala.Baru tahu alasannya, lagu ini nangkep bgt mood & sensibilitas generasi 90awal yg menginjak puber di awal milenium (00s), vibenya “noughties nostalgia” bgt. Teen angst, boyband renaissance, 3gp-esque video format,dll. Ditambah sentuhan Vintonic dengan vibe “kartun Minggu pagi”nya

Maaf nambahin lagi. Maybe it’s little bit presumptuous and too much to ask, but I’d already pictured in my head that you did another version if this song with “Mahou Shoujo” manga touch. You know like Minky Momo or Sailormoon. Like Daft Punk did with their album, Interstellar 5555 or Dua Lipa with her recent single, “Levitating.”
Nevertheless, I still like this song tho(this version), remind me of early John Hughes’ film, “Pretty in Pink”. I always play it everyday.
