- The client decided they wanted to gravel the entire mile long driveway. But man I fought the gravel the entire day. Because it was so cold the day before the base rock pile was frozen about 6" thick on top and was so clumpy it wouldn't come out of the tailgate very well. The other base rock was fresh out of the crusher and was so wet it would ball up against the tailgate and wouldn't spread either. It was a fight the entire day. Just glad I had the Bobcat with me.
Yes SIR! You are quite the *SKID STEER-ER* ! Jobs like this will ramp you skills beyond what you thought you could do. Without your Skid Steer what other of your equipment would you have used? Thanks for sharing this one and taking us along and I can't believe how long some of these driveways are! Good job buddy!!!
Thanks Sonny! I would have used the 850 if I didnt have the skid steer. Would of much tougher without the Bobcat.
Great job Larry. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks buddy!
Be careful young man, you’re starting to look like you are enjoying operating that skid steer, turning out to be a handy machine to have in the fleet. Drive came out looking nice from what could see on the video. Thanks for the update, appreciate your time.
Thanks Terry! I hope it starts earning it's keep.
Gotta love cold weather road looks good great video buddy 👍
Thanks Willard!
That's the downside to working this time of year, everything is harder to do when it's cold. Looks like you and the skidsteer are getting along pretty well though.
Yeah, it just makes everything that much more difficult! Thanks, yeah it’s finally starting to earn its way.
Working with the fozen gravel is not to different to working with crushed rock that is contaminated with mud or clay it can be a patience tester. At video's end its eay to see that you are a bit frustrated with the spreading. Id say once a bit of traffic has been over it you will be happy with the outcome. 🙂👍
Yeah, it's not fun at all! Fortunately the client has a field roller he's going to run over it while it's still wet. Thanks Sam!
