If you read the webcomic you actually learn that Saitamas power level is limitless. So no matter the strength of his opponent he will be stronger!

This is a decent overview, but it misses the core element of One Punch Man in my opinion. One Punch Man is supposed to be a mockery of all anime that came before it. It violates every fighting anime convention. Basically, Saitama is everything but an anime fan. He hates the theatrics, extended monologues, convoluted fighting styles, and he's hilariously underwhelmed by everything that goes on around him. His reaction of borus' armor breaking, thus releasing his true strength, says it all.
Yeah, i think the most suitable reason is that when created Saitama, the designer was boring with all the clíche mangas.

I would have actually thought the show is a satire on the traditional American super hero trope. that's just how it seems to me, it's just the Japanese take on making fun of how they see classic American super héros like superman who have limitless power and always let the villain cause untold damage, kill entire cities before they finally step in to save one little girl. the joke here is he's a caped hero who doesn't take his villain as seriously as American comic heros

You didn't mention that he got kicked by his enemy all the way to the moon...then he jumped back to earth
He did, indirectly. He said Saitama has supersonic speed, and the moon-to-earth jump is one of the occasions when we get to see this speed.
Saitama is also immune to psychic and telekinetic powers. His strength is so strong, his normal punch with no effort blasted a mountain even though the punch didn't connect. His speed is so immense, he jumped from the Moon to Earth in whoping 3 seconds.
I'm mildly surprised that one of the most subtle points was entirely ignored in this: the underlying theme. Example: The fish king person: Some of the strongest heroes fail to scratch the thing. Then a relatively weak guy with a bike shows up, and gets trashed while doing the typical hero thing: don't stop fighting while civilians are in harm's way. Then OPM shows up, does his thing, and the bad guy predictably doesn't make it. Next, the civilians start badmouthing the other heroes who tried and did nothing. OPM's handling of that, I think, is significantly deeper than you imply with the words "doesn't take itself seriously"

Saitaima challenges are different but some what relatable to us normal humans. He's very poor , wants recognition , everyone looks down on him and doubts him. Yet he still saves them. His Friends are better at popularity , and even videogame experts.

I think its such a good anime/manga because it uses a character so powerful with no known weakness. Through the the story it shows that overwhelming power is not always a good thing. Saitama himself is shown to feel alone.

Saitama actually does fly. He does so in several scenes including karate chopping Super sonic right out of the sky from behind AND in the later episodes flying toward the dominators space craft whilst dodging missiles being launched at him.
I think One Punch Man is such a likeable series because you can choose interpret it however you like. Some people take it seriously, others don't.

This is very hilarious because whether you know it or not, both Saitama and Vaccine man represents two of the most famous Japnaese kid's show characters, Baikinmann and Annpannaman. You'll love them. Look up アンパンマン and バイキンマン I'm jsut really happy that they made this OP character.

I would have agreed since everybody has started comparing him to Superman/Me/Hulk/Thanos etc. But the point is, Saitama is a PARODY character of shounen manga, where everybody just powers up ridiculously. Fans understand this and just have fun with the ridiculousness and humor of the show, but fan-tards just want to see Saitama defeat everybody. So, it depends on your perspective whether Saitama is overrated or not.

You should read more manga Arris, some of the stuff that has come out of Japan rivals western comics for sheer awesomeness.
Some reading recommendations: Hellsing, Berserk, Trigun, Full Metal Alchemist, Full Metal Panic, Appleseed, Ghost in the Shell, Kenichi, Naruto and One Piece.

I love how the show is a satire of the heroic ideal, esp. in Anime. You have all these fancy-pants heroes monologue-ing, or powering up like in DBZ, and it really makes them look ridiculous compared to Saitama. Everyone is all melodramatic and ... he just ends them. I appreciate it.
