I doubt if there can be another director & personality like Sriram Raghavan. Grounded, intellectual and has a unique vision towards his craft. The pacing & beautiful story telling added with thrilling experience makes him standout as always. Looking forward to Merry Christmas.
Seems like indian fincher or hitchcock
What I like about BR's interviews that there is so much talk of craft which is missing in other channels
Johnny Gaddar
Andhadhun
Without these two, Hindi cults in the 21st century cannot exist 😊
Sriram spoke at a screenwriting workshop in Mumbai that I had attended seven years ago. That was when I took a shine to him and his demeanor. What is so different about him is his candidness, intellect, and "naturalness." There are no airs about him or pseudo-stuff. It is as real as it comes. I could see myself in him with his laid-back attitude, and it gives me hope that I too can be more successful as a writer :-) Needless to add, I thoroughly enjoyed every moment of this tete-a-tete.
One of the most underrated directors in Hindi cinema Sriram Raghavan
Now underrated word is overrated.simply support and spread the good work bro.people fail to remember if directors don't make film often.Eventually, people appreciate. To be honest he is popular.
I'm glad that you got this comment out of your system today. Now, wait for a day and go comment the same thing tomorrow on some other video. Thank you in advance.
Andhadhun is overrated
@@_swapnilmishra_ he also make cid episode
@@_swapnilmishra_Andhadhun is best suspense thriller of bollywood
I really want to watch this movie in theatre..I love how it look.
Also Sriram sir is so artistic.
I loved it when Baddy and Sriram were talking about lack of having more cameras to take reaction or close-up shots and Puja starts speaking there and we don't see her for a while as the cameras are only on Baddy and Sriram. Then the camera guy shifts to Puja for the main thing. Meta moment 💥
These interviews are becoming a film in itself 😭🙏🏾❤️
Best interview with Cinematic experience. You can hear Pooja mam and won't see her, you have the urge if the DOP pans the camera bit it doesn't. 😊😊😊 43:54
Bhai mujhe to Andhadhun aur Merry Christmas dono hi badi feel good lagi. I would watch Andhadhun anyday when I am feeling down.
Mr Rangan is a cinema encyclopedia
Film Noir and Neo-Noir are my favourite genres and I wish there were more filmmakers like Raghavan and Kashyap who were specialised in these
It was the Tamil trailer of Merry Christmas that intrigued me more than the Hindi one. Now, after watching this interview, my intrigue has turned into interest.
I would like to see Baddy also to direct or write for a movie. He has so much knowledge and always asks relevant questions helping us viewers and also takes notes for himself i guess. He's an inspiration 😭 Love you Baddy 🙏🏾🫂
Sriram is maasta aadami. So relaxed and chill!!
Sriram Raghavan is a film institute.Loved this interview, a student of film should listen to it.
Btw searched and found he is an FTII graduate 🎉
Nowadays Baddy Interviews are like one hour conversation films
Sriram Raghavan universe of cinema 🎦
Watched the picture today...it was a delight..a proper mastery...all those by the book elements...ppl who know..can understand it was a classical film-school filmmaker's picture...elements like Checkhov's Gun was instrumental and the humour was a cherry on the top...there's this scene within the first 30 mins ig where both Katrina and Vijay dance their hearts out..made me smile the entire scene...it was a oner..or atleast seemed like one...with such technical nuances these small moments are the soul of the picture...i'm no fan of katrina kaif, vijay sethupati or sriram raghavan...after such a "dishoom-dishoom" blockbuster year...this picture was a breather...loved that it was shown in the big-screen...
I don't know he is a tamilian ... Superb everywhere tamil technicians are stupendous in the Indian film industry...
Vasan Bala is also Tamilian
@@atatur123 thanks sir I have watched his Raman raghav their works are critically acclaimed ones.. that's what I am saying we have to be proud everywhere they are ruling we have to break the myth of Bollywood by sending heroes as well
@@sivaprakashpurushothaman8336 Totally agree. People like Madhavan, Siddharth & Dhanush have tried but a Tamilian hasn't broken into the Bollywood A-list hero set yet. Hopefully the day will come soon.
1. I went to the Producer & I said I made a mistake.
2. I felt it was not working, but I didn't know why..
- Wow !! This guy is so upfront & honest. Absolutely no bragging & he's so grounded !!
Very rare personality these days.
Best Wishes to u, Sir 🤗👍
1 more among countless guys from RGV camp
Damn excited for merry Christmas 😍😍
Amazing outstanding slow burn suspense mystery film. Loved it. Felt like watching Hitchcock film. Liked the Teddy bear and Bear references and connections made in film. ❤
One of the best thriller directors of India
Loved this
I had a nice time watching this Interview :)
That’s my next hr sorted then
🤩Best Story Best Screenplay Best Direction Best Background Music In Andhadhun. Jonny Gaddar. Merry Christmas Most Popular Suspense Film's🤩
Huge fan of him.
I wish I knew where he gets the tshirts from
Ek haseena thi is so underrated
I saw the trailer in Tamil and i didn't had this thought in hindi one but it gave me the vibes of Martin Scorsese's After hours basically a man's worst night of his life where he goes on a date with a woman he just met and it goes downhill for him after that it is dark comedy and one the most underrated Scorsese film, I'm not saying it's a copy or remake I'm saying it looks like it From the trailer that it's basically the same premise/situation and not the same plot/characters about just a guy trying survive a night in an city area that he is unfamiliar with
Obviously i can be completely wrong and the film can be completely different story and plot
Johnny Gaddar, one of the best thriller movie made in lndia.
Great director👌
Masterpiece loading 😍😍
Sriram’s Badlapur & Agent Vinod are underrated movies. I left exhilarated after watching these movies as well.
Throughout the promotions of Merry Christmas I've come across so many innovative new ways that the interviewers have used to ask Sriram Raghavan about the casting of a bad or non-actor like Katrina 😂
Love how Sriram is using these interviews to promote Noir classics with his tshirts. Psycho here, I confess in the FC interview, Tere ghar ke saamne in some others. True cinephile.
Do the Hindi and Tamil versions have different endings?
Very enjoyable chat
Sriram Raghavan 🙌
BR got crafty with those glasses.
Can someone tell me what they mean by MC apart from the movie name merry christmas ?
The moment kumaraja name came up, my excitement for movie went up…
What does mc mean? I didn’t get why it may have been insulting?
Asli
🔥❤️🎬🙏🏾✨
His best movie is Johnny Gaddar. Because it’s a movie with no loopholes despite being a thriller.
Johnny Gaddar is a movie that took me by surprise. Amazing movie and superb casting. I had not expected Neil Nitin Mukesh, and Dharmendra in such an interesting character!
The Japanese movie Sriram is trying to remember is Decision to leave
decision to leave is Korean I guess
Super movie
lets fucking gooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
0:40 anyone understand what is MC?
❤
@BR, The Sisters Brothers, Hell or High Water, No Country for old men, Wind River, which are neo-westerns, set in modern world. Similarly neo-noir has its own elements such as - eroticism / sometimes has neon soaked night lights, modern cynicism, etc. Noir was restricted by the Hays code, whereas Neo-noir movies can contain nudity, sex scenes
💯🤝👌
💯💯
We have neo westerns
No country for old men could be described as a neo western
Logan too
Yes absolutely and its from masters coen brothers
Baradwaj's glasses!
What is the MC reference in the beginning? I did not understand, can someone explain, please? 🙄
MC is a Hindi bad word 'Madarchod' - MOFO
Mc is the short form of hindi abusive word "Maderchood"
Is it just me or this feels less like an interview nd more like two frnds talking abt movies they like?
I think he was probably thinking about "desicion to leave" at 46:00 mark
Yeah that was the one he was referring to!
sriram raghavan > anurag kashyap
There is a subgenre of westerns called 'Neo-western' Mr. Rangan just like how it is with noir. You can research about it.
No Country for old men is a neo Western film
Johnny gaddar still remains his best
I'm a fan of Sriram Raghavan's films, and I appreciate the interview. But I feel that Guntur Karam seems set to become the movie of the decade. The trailer has set a benchmark in storytelling, casting, and acting, prompting other filmmakers to rewrite scripts and elevate their standards.
Bro just stop fucking crying and know about mass and masala cinema where it originated why it is entertaining whole bunch of audience dont be that pessimistic psuedo psycho cinephile that wont get you anywhere
Your sarcasm is epic sir. You have a gem of sense of humour
Your setting new standards too bro by cmnting on filmmakers and their films must be really tough more tougher than making a movie becuase you have to think how should i down this latest telugu movie that is garning attention with trailer views huge work bro huge work
I don’t think Guntur Karam is being marketed as a pan India film. It’s only made for Telugu audiences, I repeat , Telugu audiences.. so you could just keep your lame comments to yourself …
😂
Why is Baradwaj waring a lab glass?
What is santosh Sivan doing in the editing?🙄
I always wondered. Guess it's somebody else with this name
Which is your most favourite Sriram Raghavan movie?
Andhadhun hands down

He had a cataract surgery recently
@@SilentSrini Thanks for the clarification
Body heat...is it an action film? ;)
does sound like lot of action 👀
He was talking about neo-noir movies
MC??
Vijay and Katrina lacked chemistry
I think having Katrina in this film will be its biggest downfall. Her inability to act has ruined so many films. She is this generations Aishwarya Rai
She has highest hits among all actresses.. Most popular since 2decade .. Giving performances like jazz, jenny, dimple, meera, indu, Zoya, laila, babita.. Audiences love her..she got 3 filmfare nominations,..Great directors worked with her n working with her.. Now you aSsshole sit down n make your shit life more shittier 😁😁
Hey you mind your language Katrina is a great actress
@@user-rs9ut2lw4x hahaha. Good joke!

Naah... Actually it's underrated

Andhadhun is in no way underrated, it had his recognition.
