  • The E.U.R. Universal Exposition Rome (formerly E42 Universal Exposition 1942) is an urban and architectural complex of Rome.
The area was designed in the thirties of the twentieth century for the construction of the headquarters of the Universal Exposition of Rome, from whose acronym it took its name, planned for 1942 but which never took place due to the beginning of the Second World War; the complex was completed in the following decades, modifying and expanding the original project. It houses some examples of monumental architecture, which coexist with modern buildings built in the following decades, with most of the buildings being owned by the state-owned company of the same name.

I don't care for EUR, even if photographed so beautifully as it is by you, Massimo! I know that "very cold design" very well, but I cannot appreciate it, and the history behind it. I regularly stayed at the Sheraton near by in the 1980s...

It's actually one of the best examples of xx century modernist architecture. The palazzo della civiltà is a masterpiece, regardless of the ideological background of it
