As an artist, I think it’s really impressive that you use markers in your drawing and MAKE IT WORK. I’ve never been able to use markers without messing everything up, but you do it so well, it looks more natural then anything I’ve ever seen!
Thank you so much for that! I think markers just kind of go with my flow the best. Like my own person workflow. (I came from being a full time digital artist) So I tend to be a quick sketcher and lazy with with color mixing, so it just sorta works out. You might find you work a little differently. i'm sure there is an art supply that suits you perfectly!

@@drawingwiffwaffles For me, it depends on what Im drawing. When I’m drawing characters or cartoony stuff, I use my markers, but when I’m drawing something meant to be realistic, I think colored pencils work the best.
@@drawingwiffwaffles and @ Whisper Willow it also takes time to get used to using the markers! Alcohol markers are so much more different than regular markers like Crayola. I’ve been using alcohol markers, thanks to Waffles, for 7 years now! You wouldn’t believe the difference between my art 7 years ago to now. Don’t beat yourself up about a certain art supply. It also might not be the art supply you are the strongest in! You might be better at using paints, you never know. For example, I’ve been an artist for 10+ years and I still cannot use any form of paint mediums for the life of me. 😂
The way you can instantly find a personality that fits candies is amazing, you are so creative with your art!
Jolly Rancher is a Colorado company that originally sold ice cream and chocolates! They chose the name to appeal to the folksy-western aesthetic of the American Southwest 🌵🤠🍬

AHA! I guessed the mint dark choc bit from the “likes herbs” & “once they’ve warmed up” coz dark choc is bitterer than lighter chocolates. Cute description!

My favourite candy is quite simple, quite honest, but also sweet. She never changes in her sweet nature; when you've figured her out completely, you'll find that she's the same as she always was. Type of girl who just rolls with the punches.

Candy Character: Dark sense of humor, a bit bitter, but also sweet, mysterious, elegant, and a bit aloof.
The candy is….. Hershey’s Dark Chocolate.
Nice! I thought about a Kiss chocolate which was almost accurate because it's from Hershey's too... but when you said elegant my mind went to that silver rapping and curves from the Kiss :)

I was listening to this video while on shift at my job, so I didn't actually get to see any of the designs until I came back later. While I was listening, I got a really slick idea for a red carpet gown based off the Roll candy, using the shape of the candy to create a mermaid style dress with tiered sleeves and a tall collar. I'm one hundred percent gonna try and draw it at some point, it looked so cool in my head.

the rolo thing got me thinking of a dark skinned singer with a huge afro and one of those abba/1970s overalls in orange. i also would've included the lights but the round shapes of the candy itself reminded me of those old boom-box speakers :)

With the rolo girl, you shoulda put a black/brown circle around her then she coulda had a white outline and it would have looked like she has a spotlight on her….just spitballing ideas 😁♥️

It's most definitely way past this videos upload date, but I ran across your channel a week and a half ago and have been watching all your videos (even from like five years ago). Your attitude in your videos makes me joyful and hopeful. I used art when I was at a really dark part of my life (I am only 21). Because of your videos I've picked up a new found joy for art...even when I am happy. I look forward to following along with your channel in the future, and who knows... I may even start drawing along when I get a little better and more comfortable. This is a brilliant idea, and we can never look at Halloween candy the same way again after this! That's if we did actually look before eating candy... it seems to go away on its own and we have multicolored tongues when we look in the mirror. We'd love to see Space Food Sticks or maybe those wax soda bottles filled with syrup personified, or maybe circus peanuts. We bet circus peanuts like to dress comfy casual.

I'm british and wow the rolo packaging looks soo different from the ones over here! from what i remember (havent had in a while, they're a bit boring) the packaging here is usually a tinfoil tube with them all stacked with a paper wrap around with all the branding and stuff
This personified candy is sweat, fun and loves to dance. When you get into a conversation with them they are verry loud and passionate.

I’m late but favorite candy: Usually quiet, enjoys breaks, has a troop that comes in all shapes, sizes, and flavors in life. Also favors the color red but different troop members have different colors. They also have lots of layers to them.

I just wanted to share. I teach kids karate and one little girl (4 yrs old) came up to me yesterday and asked if she could tell me a joke. She said, “what do you call a bunny with no ears?” I said I didn’t know. She giggled and said, “a DUCK!!” I laughed SO HARD.

Candy character:
A little bit of a nerd, but LOVES pastel colors and is a little shy yet sweet. (She also wears those candy bracelets)
Smarties.
I've had the same issue with a few of my Copics (and had some dry out completely). This will sound ridiculous, but try taking off the caps of the cursed markers and see if you can suck air through the caps like a straw. If you can get any air through (even a tiny amount) it means there's a crack in the cap that's letting the marker dry out. Unfortunately it's next to impossible to fix (as the alcohol fumes just reactivate basically any glue), so I've had to replace about a dozen of my markers, but the one thing I've found that's seemed to work is a construction-grade adhesive called PL Premium. I pop off the colour indicator from the top of the cap, fill that chamber with the glue, and then seal the colour cap back on with the glue inside. It's a lot of work but it's the only fix that's worked so far.

I'm not much of a sweets person, but I do ĺove chocolate. Both of these characters turned out awesome! I honestly love Rolo's outfit, it's so true to the packaging and very on theme for a performer.

I honestly love the idea of Jolly being a rancher, and a strong one too, because you know, most jolly ranchers are that hard candy substance (idk what it's called) and thats pretty strong too
