  • The Casio Waveceptor WV-59DJ-1AJF is a digital watch that a few have seen or heard of outside of Japan. This is an inexpensive world time watch with radio clock, meaning it will automatically set and correct the time in major cities in Japan, North America and Europe where there are atomic clock signal coverages.

    A very good review, i have been using my Casio Wave Ceptor for 2 years and 9 month now. I use it every day, and i bought it in a watch shop in Sweden. I like Casio digital watches and have been using them since the eighties.

      A great watch for travelling and for most occasions. I recently got the casio a700w as well, a nice thin dress watch at an affordable price.

    Bought mine in Germany three years ago. Original battery. I use the stopwatch whenever I go to the gym. Excellent value for money.

    Super retro fun looking watch. I am tempted to get one.

      You could also check out the 2019 release Casio a700w. It's a smaller retro looking watch, but not as rare or sci-fi looking as the WV-59DJ-1AJF

      I know this is an older vid but I just came across this model and it hooked me. I'm mainly a smartwatch guy with a couple Liminox's and a few G-Shock's thrown in for good measure. I love the look, but not the plastic. I heard some say there's a metal wave ceptor called a 300? I cant find it. Are aware of what I'm referring to? Please and thanks.

    I recently purchased this watch via Japan and I have say it is one of the coolest Casio watches that I own. I also own a casio db-e30-1av tough solar databank watch world and the WV-59DJ-1AJF is even cooler IMO. Thanks for the review for all of us Casio fans around the world 👍😀

      I presume you're a big fan of "Aliens" too? My absolute number one favorite movie of all time and yes the shape of the WV 59 reminds a lot of the Seiko Pulsemeter 234 👍

    Hi, is the Japanese market watch compatible with the atomic clock signal towers in Europe? I know that the solar-powered older version of this watch (WV-300) is NOT compatible and won't sync if outside of its market/manufacture zone. Have you been able to confirm this in real ilfe? Thanks

    The glass is acrylic according to the specs, not mineral.

    Is the case still made of plastic? If the case is steel it looks amazing... you said it is, but ebay says it's resin.

    • @rugby3652
      @rugby3652  Před 3 lety

      Plastic with chrome cover. If you want an all-metal casing, the A1000D-7EF might be better.

    Seems Casio doesn't know how to spell the name of its own watch. The
    watch front has "Captor" rather than the correct "Ceptor". Is it really
    a Casio or just some cheap knock-off?
