COME TO NEW YORK!
What a nice Tribute and Homage to Iron Maiden
Abbiamo gia i nostri biglietti, ci vediamo a Salzburg 🤘
You can't have a full Iron Maiden discography in just a single song.
Nanowar of Steel - "Hold my beer" :)
Not beer, lambrusco.
to be fair, it's not that much to gather xD
Hold my stranger*
Hold my Trooper Beer.
hold my barbagianni
This is not a song, it is the first PhD in maidenology.
Mr. Baffo: Hey, let's do an Iron Maiden cover.
Mohammed: Which one?
Mr. Baffo: ALL of them!
Reasons why I love Mr.Baffo his ambition has no limits
THX for bringing this up. I don't no much Iron Maiden songs and already thought a stroke might have been involved with the lyrics.
All of them, plus queensryche.
This is basically my issue with this song. My ears kept telling me it's an Iron Maiden medley but my brain knew better :D
@@asevadothere's actually a song on Virtual XI called "Don't Look Too The Eyes Of A Stranger", I assume they went for that one
"Live to fly! Fly to live! Fly to fly!"
That was the stranger's strangest strange reference of the strange song.
In a strange land
U forgot he mentioned fly as high as the sun that is from Flight of Icarus
"Fly to fly" cracked me up xD
fly to fly 🤣🤣🤣😂
ahah, I only regret a "Live to Live" lyric
"So... how many Iron Maiden songs did you cover?"
"Yes."
Friend: I want to start listening to Iron Maiden, what songs do you recommend?
Me: Afraid to shoot into the eyes of a stranger in a strange land, from Nanowar.
Friend: But that's not Iron Maiden.
Me: Just listen to it.
Bro, I have your propic as my computer wallpaper, the same picture
I would pay to see a video of Steve Harris reacting to this music
we would pay as well
Me too .... hashtag :)
He would probably order the t-shirt with art and lyrics immediately, and wear it instead of his "Whale Oil Beef Hooked" one 🤣
you have my axe
Please
I knew from the title I was getting some Iron Maiden. I didn't think it was scientifically possible to cram this much Iron Maiden into one song, but here we are.
That sounds more iron maiden than iron maiden themselves 🎉
and its lovely!!

Sorry mate, but in Italy only pop, dance and the thing of the moment are strong (right now the trap, wich has replaced rap)
@@yopchakiand at the same time we're a very rock-loving country. Not in the same way that, for example, in Norway metal music is more common in society, but big rock and metal artists always sold out quickly, there's always a passionate crowd, album sales have always been (in proportion, talking about the billboard rankings) higher than many other European countries... 5 Wasting Love
6 Women in Uniform
7 Run to the hills

16 The evil that man do
17 Running free
18 Children of the damned

22 Virus
23 The rime of the ancient mariner
24 Can I play with madness?
25 Hallowed be thy name

That is roughly 15 percent of the Iron Maiden's whole discography 😳
Well, the first reference I heard was the bass intro from Blood Brothers. Later I heard many more riffs I should actually name instantly (but sadly, I can't). So I think we can easily get 25% if we dig a little more.
man on the edge (falling down)
And Strange World
@@richardstrikesback8798 It's the intro of Blood Brothers combined with the one of Lightning Strikes Twice.
I think there's also a riff from Deja Vu and the rythm from lightning strikes twice is in all the song too
Legend says that the long distance runner was caught somewhere on the dark web, but without fear of the dark he explored all the evil that men do.

Flash of the Blaze è la perla!
There were lyrics here? Strange.
166 tocco di classe vintage 😂😂 per vecchi come me
The imitation of Maidens style is underrated here, I feel. This is so detailed! There are the guitars playing harmonies, the tempo, the solos, Bruces style of singing, the structure of the song... all of it.
Really well done!
It just OOZES with what makes the Maiden songs what they are, and are a great joke on Iron Maiden
also the length of the song... :D or almost. Could have been at least 12 minutes very easily
Not to mention the useless, too long bass outro 🤣
Edit: correction, for the first time, I've seen a use for that outro: the end credits.
Yeah, this song is a really good pastiche of Iron Maidenendom.
😁
More like Blaze's voice !
Producer: Okay, how many Maiden songs you want to revisit?
Nanowar: Yes.
So basically the whole Iron Maiden musical history in one song.
Another masterpiece!
0:45 The Nokia 3310 with the dial number 166 on the screen is a reference to their old Iron Maiden parody, _The Number Of The B1tch._

Ive tried to dysect the lyrics to find all the Maiden references in the songtext. To flesh out the answers I used ai.
Here are all the references I found:
1. Afraid to Shoot Strangers: A track from the album "Fear of the Dark" (1992), dealing with the fear and confusion of soldiers in battle.
2. Stranger in a Strange Land: A single from the album "Somewhere in Time" (1986), about an Arctic explorer who dies and is found frozen years later.
3. Flight of Icarus: This seems to be alluded to with the line "Fly as high as the sun," referencing the Greek myth of Icarus and Daedalus, paralleled in the Iron Maiden song from the album "Piece of Mind" (1983).
4. Wasting Love: A track from "Fear of the Dark" (1992), discussing the emptiness of one-night stands.
5. Women in Uniform: A non-album single released in 1980, covering the song originally by Skyhooks.
6. Run to the Hills: One of Iron Maiden's most famous songs, from "The Number of the Beast" (1982), depicting the conflict between Native Americans and European settlers.
7. Caught Somewhere in Time: The opening track from "Somewhere in Time" (1986), dealing with themes of time travel.
8.Acacia Avenue: Likely referring to "22 Acacia Avenue," a song from "The Number of the Beast" (1982), about the life of a prostitute.
9.The Loneliness of the Long Distance Runner: A track from "Somewhere in Time" (1986), inspired by the short story of the same name.
10. Seventh Son of a Seventh Son: The title track of the album "Seventh Son of a Seventh Son" (1988), dealing with a mythical child with clairvoyant powers.
11.The Number of the Beast: Title track of the album "The Number of the Beast" (1982), inspired by a nightmare of bassist Steve Harris, dealing with the theme of hell and damnation.
12. Flash of the Blade: A song from the album "Powerslave" (1984), about a young swordsman seeking vengeance.
13. Aces High: The opening track of "Powerslave" (1984), depicting a British RAF pilot fighting during the Battle of Britain in WWII.
14. Running Free: The band's debut single from their self-titled album (1980), about a young man's adventures on the streets.
15. Live to Fly: Likely a misquote or blending of "Aces High" lyrics, pertaining to the theme of flying and freedom.
16. Children of the Damned: A track from "The Number of the Beast" (1982), inspired by the films "Village of the Damned" and "Children of the Damned."
17. Charlotte the Harlot: A song from the debut album "Iron Maiden" (1980), about a prostitute. This character is revisited in "22 Acacia Avenue."
18. Fear of the Dark: The title track of the album "Fear of the Dark" (1992), dealing with the universal fear of darkness and what lies within it.
19. Rime of the Ancient Mariner: A lengthy track from "Powerslave" (1984), based on the poem by Samuel Taylor Coleridge about a cursed sailor's tale.
20. Can I Play with Madness: From the album "Seventh Son of a Seventh Son" (1988), dealing with a young man's confrontation with a prophet.
21. Hallowed Be Thy Name: A song from "The Number of the Beast" (1982), contemplating a man's thoughts just before his execution.
Edit 1: Yes, the commenters below are correct, I used ai. I used ai to fill in the gaps, after writing down the titles I knew.
22. Virus, A song from "Best of the Beast" (1996)
23. Don't Look Into the Eyes of A Stranger, a song from "Futureal" (1998)
24. The Evil That Men Do, another song from "Seventh Son of a Seventh Son" (1988)
25. Only The Good Die Young, yet another song from "Seventh Son of a Senventh Son" (1988)
26. Strange World, a song from their debut album "Iron Maiden" (1980)
27. "Falling Down" is a reference to "Man on the Edge", a song from "The X Factor" (1995), a song about an office worker about to commit suicide due to financial struggles
28. Be Quick Or Dead, song from "Fear of the Dark" (1992)
29. No Prayer for the Dying, song from "No Prayer for the Dying" (1990)
30. "You'll take my virus and I'll take yours too" is a reference to "The Trooper", a song from "Piece of Mind" (1993). The song starts with the lyrics "You'll take my life but I'll take yours too".
Oh and "Live to Fly" isn't a misquote, Aces High has exactly that verse in its chorus. (Run, live to fly, fly to live, aces high)
Yes, that's a proper AI answer. It just needed a bit of fact check, but a good idea.
Edit: this was meant to be comment to the guy who posted the first part 😊
2nd edit: And I want to emphasize that there's absolutely nothing wrong with that; I just would've appreciated denouncing it as an answer from AI 👍
31. Blood Brothers: the bass line in the end is the intro of the song, from the album Brave New World.
I believe "be quick or be a long distance runner" in the first verse is a reference to "Be quick or be dead".
@@RiimukiviMusic you are correct, Ive added the hint :) i wrote down the song titles I got by going through the lyrics and let ai do the rest. Did not mean to decieve, was just a bit naive. But no offence taken. Thanks for pointing it out. You help make the internet a better place. :)
once you've seen Eddie the Harlot, you cannot unsee it.
This is why I love Nanowar - I have no idea what I just watched, get none of the references, all the jokes flew right over my head, and I'm still having a great time and laughing happily. Bit by bit, the 'what the hell was that about" questions will by answered by people in the comments, and once I know I'll still be having a great time and laughing happily. May Dog bless you all, Nanowar!
same, plus I'm watching it with my 7yo son who points at the screen and asks "dad whats' that?" and I honestly can't answer, and we still both enjoy the experience.
To understand all the references you need to know a lot of things and listen at least seventy times the discography of Iron Maiden
@@Kleyguerthit’s basically every well known Iron Maiden song, either by title or by prominent lines of the lyrics. From their debut until mid 90’s at least, didn’t catch references to any of the newer songs though, maybe need to watch it several times to catch the rest?
@@aunjohnsen5041 I'm pretty sure they stopped at "Futureal". I'm sure I would catch references up to "Dance of Death". Also there's not much wiggle room, every single word is a reference and I got them all.

@@Kleyguerth I’ll probably rewatch this a couple of times over the next week, and guess I will catch even more references. I am not 100% on maiden, so I might need refreshers there to catch them all. How the fuck they managed to make a narrative out of this is beyond me, but i applaud them for it.
I died at the long distance runner. And then they kept going with it. The evil that the long distance runner do indeed.
Ok. Now we know that the long distance runner has at least 7 sons. It's good to get an update after so many years.
I always think "they surely must be running out of ideas and ways to surprise us soon?".
That's one of very few things that i'm glad that i'm always wrong about.
May Eddie have mercy on my soul... but this is the best Maiden track since the Brave New World album was released.
This might be the maidenest song that was ever maidened.
Absolute beast of a song fellas. When your mother says she can make Iron Maiden at home better than the albums, and she was right. Kudos from Australia.
When an Italian mother says she can make it better at home, she can make it better at home.
This is actually the short version of the original title, "Be Quick or Be Afraid to Shoot to Thrill into the Eyes of a Stranger, a Stranger of the Strange World to Tame a Strange Land"
I am liking it before it is released because I am sure it will be a quality song!
Up the steels!
Someone forgot about their pop song.
So kind of Nanowar to help Maiden write their first Quadruple-Disc Album.
Nanowar truly captured the essence of Iron Maiden in this! Even the "man, this song just keeps going and going" feeling. XD True masters of the craft!
This is so much fun, but the most impressive thing is not what they did here, but that they did it in less than 7 minutes.

Nanowar of Steel: Yes
Il made in Italy non è morto e non morirà mai \m/
I love how the whole video is about Eddie vs the Virus. The Virus is one of my favourite Maiden songs.
The real key here I think is that it carries all the corniness of a real Iron Maiden video, because honestly, no band has ever been worse at music videos than the best metal band of all time.
And we love them for it.
The only thing missing in this song is more "clicking" sound of the bass guitar.
Then it would have been a perfect Maiden song with Blaze on vocals.
As a long -distance-runner-to-the-hills-Maiden-fan myself, i absolutely ADORE this.
I love how each of the tunes is slightly off not to brake any license :D but still even when each of them is bit off its Iron Maiden :D
I blame Metal Pilgrim for sending me here, and I am not mad about it. Confused? Yes. Highly entertained? Also yes. Now sporting one hell of earworm? DEFINITELY YES!!! This was awesome. ❤
It works. Just listening to the music, I could be fooled into thinking this was Iron Maiden and then stand around increasingly weirded out by my inability to pin down which number I was listening to. Pretty well, done because that playing style is taxing to say the least but you nail it. Watching the vid, I realize the lyrics are as if Dickinson forgot to put on his oxygenmask flying to his next gig. Seems like it's basically as many maiden-lines as possible crammed into the verses and never mind if it makes any sense. But the cartoons are awesome! I don't know how many nights I've been sitting listening to Maiden while drawing Eddie from the album covers. It puts me right back in that mellow late-night mood.
Overall a great and suitably weird homage to a bunch of essentially very weird characters having formed this awesome band👍
Flash of the Blaze😂😂😂😂
This actually made me laugh out loud. So much love for the long distance runner (but Charlotte comes second). Please Bruce&Steve watch this!
When there are too many good Iron Maiden songs that you cover all of them at once... Brilliant !
I will list as many references/easter eggs as I can find (if you find any missing feel free to suggest them as a reply and I will update)
Starting with the elephant in the picture - super obvious for anyone who have ANY knowledge about Iron Maiden and their music. The song is a reference to them! Yeah, I know I am a genius for figuring it out!
Thus the main character in the video is the Iron Maiden's mascot Eddie (the humanoid monster which is always presented on their album/single covers in one shape or another).
Abbreviations of the Iron Maiden albums:
IM = Iron Maiden; K = Killers; NotB = Number of the Beast; PoM = Piece of Mind; P = Powerslave; SiT = Somewhere in Time; SSotSS = Seventh Son of the Seventh Son; NPftD = No Prayer for the Dying; FotD = Fear of the Dark; X = The X Factor; V XI = Virtual XI; BNW = Brave New World; DoD = Dance of Death; AMOLAD = A Matter of Life and Death; FF = Final Frontier; BoS (Book of Souls); S = Senjutsu
The title of the song (and the whole chorus) is a reference to 4 of Maiden's songs: Afraid to Shoot Strangers (FotD), Don’t Look to the Eyes of a Stranger (V XI), Stranger in a Strange Land (SiT) and Strange World (IM).
The lyrics are formed from the titles and partial lyrics of Iron Maiden songs. In order of appearance these are: Flight of Icarus (PoM), Wasting Love (FotD), Women in Uniform (single), Run to the Hills (NotB), Caught Somewhere in Time (SiT), 22 Acacia Avenue (NotB), Be Quick or Be Dead (FotD), The Loneliness of the Long Distance Runner (SiT), No Prayer for the Dying (NPftD), Seventh Son of the Seventh son (SSotSS), Flash of the Blade (P), Aces High (P), Man on the Edge (X), The Evil that Man Do (SSotSS), Running Free (IM), Aces High again, Children of the Damned (NotB), Charlotte the Harlot (IM), The Number of the Beast (NotB), Fear of the Dark (FotD), Virus (single), Rime of the Ancient Mariner (P), Can I Play with Madness (SSotSS), Hallowed be Thy Name (NotB), The Trooper (PoM), Only the Good Die Young (SSotSS).
On the music side while the majority of the song sounds like Iron Maiden there are 2 parts in particular that resembles more specific parts of their songs:
the opening 0:05-0:47 and during the credits 5:44-6:20 sounds like the opening of Blood Brothers (BNW), Dance of Death (DoD) and Face in the Sand (DoD) (thanks to @pauloviniciosappelt9789)
the solo at 3:59-4:25 resembles the last part of the solo in the song Sign of the Cross (X) (at around 9:13-10:08)
As for the video. After 2 times watching I have find only a few of them. Surely there will be more to add
Virus (maybe the song maybe the COVID-19) references across the pretty much whole song
Many planets maybe referring to Out of the Silent Planet (BNW) or When Two World Collide (V XI)
Also a lot of shooting stars - maybe reference to Speed of Light (BoS)
0:31 and 1:24 The sign with 22 Acacia Avenue is pure reference to the song mentioned in the lyrics as well
0:42 and 2:35 166 on the NOKIA is reference to the Number of the Bitch (previous parody of Nanowar of Steel)
1:42, 3:35 and 5:15 the explosions reminds the ending of the Writing on the Wall (S)
2:30, 3:14, 4:14 4:47 The children of Charlotte the harlot and The number 7 in red shirt looks suspiciously like Cristiano Ronaldo - the 7th son (thanks to @claudioviola1445)!
3:43 Crossing of the blade maybe reference to Duelist (P)
2:07-2:11 and later on the scenes with the blazing blade has a microphone on the end of the handle referring to the lead singer of the song Flash of the Blade - Blaze Bailey (thanks to @claudioviola1445)
Well done!
The number 7 in the shirt means the guy is the 7th son of... Charlotte.
The knife (blade) with a mic in the place of the handler is a reference to... Blaze.
Bravo! I don't much enjoy Maiden so while I got the main references I missed a lot.
Adding to that, the intro sounds like a mix of Blood Brothers with Face in the Sand
The amount of nanolore in this song is amazing, this band has never dissapointed me. ☕
Aces High came on this morning and I sang along but the words came out as "Fly to Fly".Damn you, you cunning lot.

I was afraid to look into this strange video in a strange website
Is this what metal sounds like to non-metal fans? Regardless, this is more Maiden than Maiden. Great song guys.
Holy shit you've dialled the sound in, vocals sounded like Bruce's younger brother, guitar tones on point...I've been listening to Maiden for 35 years and this is well up there amongst the best tribute bands
