    I have been getting a lot of questions via email, DM's etc. regarding my Nokta Legend. I wanted to clear the air about what has been happening with my Nokta Legend thus far, and Nokta's response to the issue . This video will explain from the beginning where it all started and where we are at now.

    I wanted to create this video, so I can point people to it instead of having to explain in every single email and DM. I want to share my experience with Nokta's customer service. This is a company that cares, hands down.

    I thought my Nokta pinpointer was bad - it kept chirpng when I was checking clumps of soil in my left hand...finally remembered I had screws & wires in my wrist from ladder fall :) It was working just fine

    Good for Dilek and NOKTA for superior customer support. This is one reason I bought a Legend, also own a Simplex+ and the all awesome Impact just a bad a ss machine.

    So, purchased a pre order when they first came out. Long story short, I blew 3 speakers in first unit. Being replaced each time. I attribute it to pitch tone. Anyway, sent me a new detector. I am pleased with customer service. As far as chatter goes , and I know there has been so much discussion on this on social media, but after the 1.09 update it was haywire. I know many said that us that had that problem were crazy, but you and your wife are a perfect example of how some work and others don’t. The first year I had it I ran 1.07 at beach and while there u updated to 1.09. Detector was smooth as equinox. Last year did the 1.11 before going and machine was crazy. Even unstable on land in places that was never a problem before . New generation detector they sent had 1.13 and has been a problem at all. Something was definitely wacky with some of them.

    Their service is excellent. I won’t name the other brand, but a friend of mine was experiencing a water ingress issue on his “water proof” machine (a known issue for this model which had even had a recall issued for it and a nickname it had developed amongst the metal detecting community), he was 1 month out of warranty and the control box was replaced for a nominal fee in the area of $700 CAD. They would not honour the recall even with the timeframe so close to the warranty ending. The other manufacturer honored their shareholders whereas Nokta honours their end users.

    Everyone can have problems, it’s how they deal with it that counts. Minelab has been plagued with problems with leaks, etc over the years. Coil ears breaking continuously. So under warranty it’s a pain but you’re covered, but as soon as the warranty expires, you are on your own. This is really strange because you seem to be the only one I have seen with re occurring problems. I’ve only seen a couple bad speakers, that’s it.

    I had similar to you on Bournemouth Beach here in UK and it would come and go when I was walking up and down the beach. I tried ground balancing then setting it manually to Zero and did noise canceling the first section of the beach. What I found was Bournemouth beach and lots of cctv along the beach and some are wireless so when I walked close to an wireless cctv it would kick off vdi going all over the place so I did a noise cancel pointing the coil towards the cctv and emi noise vanished until I hit the next one. If you get it again look around for cctv.

    I've had the speaker replaced in my Legend and before that I had the Motherboard replaced having the same issues. Every since I haven't been able to turn the sensitivity higher than 21 without it getting too chatty.

    I feel lucky . I bought one when they first came out and just received my 2nd one today . After changing my old one to 1.15 I took the new one out of the boxed and updated it . I took the new one to the test garden so far so good .

    Out of curiosity: 1. Do you carry a cell phone, if so, have you turned it off to see if issue goes away? 2. Do you carry any other electronic devices i.e. GPS etc. if so, does it happen with them on or off? 3. I hunting with another person, have you given the Legend to them and have they experienced the same issues? 4. Do you have any metal or electronic implants? Just trying to help diagnose.

      Hey Lee, i have tried eliminating all electronics, leaving them in car. The issue remained. Watch the follow up video where I suggest a fix. It looks to be a driver issue when updating.

      @@SOFLOTreasureFinds I sent the following email to Nokia on 12/17/23: I noticed the Driver to update the Mac on your web site is v6.0.1 dated 10/15/21. There is a newer driver on the Silicon Labs web site for the Mac v6.0.2 dated 10/26/21. Is there a reason you are not using the newer driver for the Mac. Others have also noticed that there are newer drivers for Windows PC's and one person who was having issues on a PC used the newer driver and resolved is updating issues. Thanks in advance for the help.
      I then received the following email from Nokia:
      Dear Lee,
      Thank you for reaching us.
      We haven't encountered any problems with the current driver, so I suggest we stick with it.
      Kind Regards,
      Gülşah YILDIRIM (Ms.)
      I did download the newer driver for the Mac and updated to 1.13 without issue and did a Factory reset before and after doing the update. My Legend works perfectly. I had posted my find around 12/15/23 and a few other guys used the newer PC/Windows driver successfully. I don't know if they were using Windows 10 or 11.

      Stay out of the Water and Pirate's Cove 😂 And it's very good that they are going above, But they have to and To get everything figured out and Make a Better Detector and hopefully not losing Customer's and the Simplex + that I had, I Had Enough to not go back with another Notka.....

    I didnt watch your unlisted video, but ive never had good luck with the legend at the beach, or going deep deep in the grass, i just cant seem to pinpoint targets in those two situations, no matter how much i circle the target i just cant tell where exactly it is, so i just usually throw the lg24 on and only dig thestuff thats in the first 6 inches down in the grass or so
    I thought maybe it was the lg24 at the beach just wasnt powerful enough so i tried the lg28 last time, i had the same issue of not being able to tell where the target is exactly
    And im not even on a salt water beach, its freshwater georgian bay on lake huron.
    I dont get a emi like chatter like you do though, but still, it makes me not too interested in going to the beaches and i only want to go to the parks

    have one of the older one with metal upper shaft still finding targets house i live at built 1890 but 40 khz makes a big diffrence used mine lab etrac or 600 garett at pro 13 inch coil the etrac has the old fbs teck how many used legion come with two pairs of head phones wireless wired ones like these better so battery in head phones battery does not go dead cause when i started their was no vid had an garett TR machine we went on sounds alone

    I bought a ledgen about one year ago and found more gold in 3 months that 12 years with my AT PRO.
    sadly its all busted up from me getting pissed it wouldn't work right 😂

    You cannot set the speaker to max i blew mine before i knew of this issue so if you run your house speakers at max they will blow also, Nokta sent me the LG30 carbon cuff and shaft for the inconvenience Customer service is second to none

      The original speaker they used was faulty in some machines. They have upgraded the speaker since and replaced anyone who had a speaker die with the new upgraded one. Thanks for your input blain.

    It could be something your doing or how your storing it or even the update.
    The speaker issues were well know for the first Legends and you were getting them replaced with the same batch hence same speaker issue.
    The dealers still have those and selling them unless they sent them all back.
    To many people have the Legend with no issues for this to be a normal common issue.

      Everyone has their preference. But the level of customer service from nokta is exceptional. Manticore is a great machine.

    I think if nokta were to admit having discovered a problem means a mass recall and that kind of thing can break a company, I think its policy not to search for the problem, just to replace and hope for the best...

    Got me nervous to pull the trigger on an upgrade to the legend from cheap crap cuz need it to work without hiccup a month from now for a weekend, so ig I’m just gonna be nervous either way… esp since best customer service

    got mine used let others pay 500.00 payed 411.00 for this one came with two pairs of head phone this machine is easy to learn dont let any one tell you diffrent just a few ajustments you will be off running wish i have vdi on detector i was running 40 yrs ago we went on sound alone

    Do a test and try the new coil on the old one you are sending back and and old coil on the new machine.

      @@KJ4IQE Hey No I have not it rained all day yesterday. I had to package it up and send it out today. Nokta messaged me saying they noticed the package hasn't been shipped yet. BUT, Nokta told me it is going to Turkey to be looked at by the engineers and they assured me 100% they will fill me in what the deal was. I will definitely give an update once I have the details, that I promise you.

    It must be something you're doing...it's almost impossible to get 3 bad legends in a row.
    How are you storing it ? ... something odd is going on.

      Hi Lukazs, not sure. Nokta is going to check it out. I store it in the garage along side all my other machines and next to Amys legend. Nokta seems to think something is wrong with it. This is why I am hoping Dilek/Nokta fills me in on what the deal is. If I find out I will do an update video. Thanks Lukas.

      @@SOFLOTreasureFinds yes mine came with 1.07 I have windows 10 of course I li by fresh water but I hunt with around a lot of power lines and I still run my sensitivity almost max most of the time sometimes I might have to drop it to 27 my son also runs the Legend and if he is to close to me I may have to t 26

      @@SOFLOTreasureFinds sorry I didn’t finish writing I usually run park mode 1 or 2 recovery of 5 to 7 IF 1 Stability 1 bottle cap 8 ground S 0 and I have my volume enhancer at 6 and me and my boy have been killing it we just found a seated quarter S mint mark I recently found a opal ring 14 k ringing 18 worth a few grand made in Australia field, one the setting as I do the only problem I have is my headphones will sometimes keep disconnecting and reconnecting it may be because I have dirt in the on and off button I will have to give it a good cleaning very impressed on how deep it goes and the recovery speed is incredible we have found many old coins and jewelry that others have missed a few months ago I found a Tiffany s jewelry lid dated 1890 to 1910 I was able to determine the date because Tiffany’s company went with initials for that period of time that was at least 2 feet in the ground. The first I thought was piece of aluminum but then I seen it shining and it says Sterling on it. Wait in on almost 21 g of sterling, so yeah the legend has been really incredible machine plus I got mine for $500 the old stock machine s and mine came with headphones They made a mistake headphones so that was pretty cool we found so much stuff in the last year with it.

    When people say good customer service so much, not a good sign, that means there's a lot of problems and they want to keep people hushed up with good customer service as much as possible. I just hope mine will last

      People, being 'people', are generally inclined to negativity these days. So, if a lot of people give positive customer service reviews it is indicative of a companies success in manufaturing a great product......A bad line of any electrical components can negatively impact many finished articles. For me, I'd re-call all the series of machines that left the factory which corrolate to their respective batch that may harbour more disfunctional units. Failures from one batch-line is not cause for universal condemnation. If it were, all the Minelab Equinox 800 range would have be condemned as 'useless' in the field/sea/lake, very early doors: for months on end. from a former Nox8 owner.
