    Went into Logan's today...A very, VERY FINE establishment...Jerry knows his customers names and has for decades now. A WONDERFUL store to visit year around!! Thank you, Jerry, for all your hard work and for being a solid part of the community.

    As much as automation continues to take over manual labor, there's still some magic & charm about good'ol traditional craftsmanship. Too bad the market won't allow them enough pay to continue their livelihood that way.

    In Vietnam, we call it "Kẹo Kéo" (meaning - Pull Candy). It's mixed with peanuts. It's traditional candy in my country and sold by street singers. It's our childhood :)

    The process of making these candies reminds me of my childhood. There was a candy factory in my hometown and I was absolutely fascinated when I visited it and found myself amid enormous wooden trays with thousands of colored candies like these. I had always thought they were Brazilian candies. Those are hard to find here nowadays.

    I love all sorts of candy and I love seeing how it's made. I hate that no matter how politely you ask people to keep comments "G Rated" there will always be some who feel the need to be uncouth. Great video.

    Me too! I totally make my own peppermint mochas all year (half a candy cane, some hershey's syrup, sugar and creamer in coffee). Sooo good.

  • @capt.richgoldenberg6005

    My grandfather owned a candy factory he made candy canes too but he had huge machines that did the pulling and mixing. I remember the machine would malfunction and soft candy cane material would spiral out of the machine making giant spiral cones that he would give to me. there is nothing like biting into hot candy cane material and letting it harden in your mouth. As a kid it was pure joy. I miss my pop pop and his factory.

    • @ForgetfulDoryFish
      @ForgetfulDoryFish  Před 10 lety +28

      It tastes pepperminty, just like a regular candy cane, but the candy is more airy than the ones you buy in the stores. It has lots of little air bubbles in it, which makes it dissolve in your mouth faster. It's quite nice. :) And when you get a sample that's still a bit warm its amaaazzzing.
