  • Video of a Western New York dairy farm chopping their 2017 third cutting of hay. A Claas Jaguar 960 forage harvester chops the crop and blows it into truck. Back at the farm is a Versatile 500 and Case IH 385 tractor with front blades pushing and packing the pile of silage

CLAAS is the leader in the world marked for self-propelled forage harvesters. FENDT offers in Europe self-propelled forage harvesters since 2011, when they came up with their newly developed KATANA 65 (650 horsepower). Since 2015 they offer a second model the KATANA 85 (850 horsepower).

Neat. It looks like the dump driver and harvester drive definitely have to be on the same page.

I was in mapletown, NY, which is near Canajoharie, NY, checking out the grange hall there. A farm nearby must've been chopping corn cause trucks loaded with chopped corn were blowing by us at what had to be 50mph every 5 minutes. Key point here: Don't get in their freakin' way

I have never seen any one make a silage pile quite like that. All i have ever seen drive from one side all the way to the other side so all of it is packed down. I would think that that back side would not have all the air out of it and cause some spoilage since they are not packing it down.

Terry Presnal not really. Winter is coming and these larger farms use the silage pretty fast.

Why do they buy versatile vs case? Versatile cost almost the same and r rude and crude.

Why is everyone in Ag in N America reluctant to ask a farm's size, number of head, etc.
That is basic info that everyone wants, and often needs, to know.
Any European Ag always includes the basic farm info. Without that everything else is meaningless.
