Thanks for doing this review. I am definitely buying a Primaluna integrated amplifier for my next amplifier purchase. I am impressed that you used Primaluna's least expensive model!

Greetings from New Jersey. 3yrs PrimaLuna DiaLogue Premium HP and LOVE it!!! 1st thing I did was to take out the stock tubes (they are nice) and put in 8 KT-150's, 4 Philips ECC82 Holland (Driver), 2 Telefunken ECC82 Smooth Plates(Pre-Amp) and driving with Focal Aria 936. I tube roll and PrimaLuna makes is easy. Enjoy the Music and Stay Safe!

I have never been so surprised watching a CZcams video ???
I own the evo 100. It looks from the first few seconds of your video as if you have tube warning light 1and 4 showing.
that said mine is the best sound I have ever heard so far.

      Thanks for pointing that out

@@adamlitchfield3371 I bought it because I new that if I bought a solid state amp someday another one would catch my eye. I will never regret it. When I feel like experimenting all I need to do is try different valves 👍

      @@adamlitchfield3371 A second answer:
I have no experience with any other valve amps.
I have heard (YT) people say they like Manuel bias adjustment as it allaws them to run the valves hotter as they say they prefer the sound.(Despite the fact that doing so must shorten valve life).
perhaps some day you might let me know ?

I don’t know if the headphone part is same in the evo lineup for sound as well as power output? I’m considering replacing my Audiovalve Solaris with PrimaLuma for my susvara, but I’m not sure primaluna has enough power for the power hungry Plannar

I remember our argument that the sub was not on.

I just auditioned the KEF R7 speakers, Focal ARIA 926 and the Klipsch Forte III with the Primaluna 300 (15min. warm-up) and the Marantz Model 30 integrated amp.
The KEF R7 do not put out bass like this, he is running a sub with these speakers.
The Primaluna took the highs, vocals and smoothed them out.
The bass was smoother, deeper but not as defined as the Marantz and the Primaluna and didn't get loud enough for me with the volume knob at 12'oclock.
Kef and Focals sounded good, with the Focals having a fuller soundstage. The bass was deeper and more pronounced with the Focals too.
Because I wanted a greater volume of sound I tried the Klipsch, it was louder but I thought they left a hole in the mid kHz range. I can see why some people love horns, they are very engaging but are not for me.
The Primaluna 300 didn't have the power to play certain songs loud enough.
I'm going back to try the Primaluna 400 and the Luxman L505uXII.
I played: Billy Joel, 70's Heart, Dave Matthews band, Avenged Sevenfold, John Secada, Stevie Ray Vaughn.

"The bass was smoother, deeper but not as defined as the Marantz and the Primaluna and didn't get loud enough for me with the volume knob at 12'oclock. "
I don't know why people get so hung up on the position of a volume knob. Its irrelevant. If you buy a new CD player that doesn't have as much output as your old one, you will need to turn the knob higher to get the same volume as before. Unless you're actually running out of adjustment, it doesn't matter what position the knob is at. Most of the time, the average system is running in negative gain anyway. Nothing is being amplified.

@@solarfall2728 I mentioned the position of the volume dial so whoever read my comment would know, was it at 3/4 volume and clipping or maybe it was only a 1/3 of the way to full volume. I was NOT hung up on it.
