  • Removed the stock brushed motor which put out only 15 watts. Installed a 29 gram 1808 brushless motor, 5" prop, 12 amp ESC and now uses a 2S 950 mah lipo for 55 watts @ 7 amps. All up weight is 215 grams. Can fly low and slow in calm or light winds.

I am so glad I bought a bunch of these when they were still available. Still one of the best planes to learn RC on to this day. At 35 bucks a pop you could buy a whole fleet of airframes / repair kits. Thank you for sharing yours.

The micro slow stick flies okay but the first GWS Slow Stick (about two times bigger) gives even more of a floaty feeling, glides better, and more forgiving on tight turns (less tendency to stall and dip a wing during a slow tight turn).

How much did you cut the wings down by? Where'd you get the motor and ESC? Great to see GWS Sticks still flyin!

The wings are stock. Motor and ESC are from hobbyking. Thanks for the comment.
