Loved the video...I always like seeing your videos, your choice of books and curriculums for every year and how it has progressed. I can clearly see the immense amount of planning and thought that you put into the process. Please keep making more videos on individual topics or just some chatty ones.. they are incredibly helpful. Hoping you have a wonderful teaching year ahead.

I do something similar on the computer and print out a different sheet for each kid for each day. It includes chores, jobs (for my teens), sports, and all school work. I do them for my younger kids, too, and either check them off myself or let them know what to mark.

I have a toddler but planning on homeschooling when it’s time. This notebook organizing method seems great! My question is are you re-learning all these subjects as you teach them? 😅 I think I’m having trouble envisioning me teaching things like English and Latin since I wasn’t good at English and never had Latin in school.
How do you navigate tracing all subjects at all different levels? My mind is really blown how you and so many other homeschool moms (some with like 8 kids) can teach such a variety in one day as just one person! Not to mention household work! ❤

Well, the housework does not always get done! 😂. I do relearn many of the subjects as I am planning them and with the kids. It is one of the reasons I homeschool - I love learning! Curriculums really walk you through what you need to know. If you think about it, teachers in elementary school and even into middle school often teach many subjects. They are not experts in those subjects; they have training on how to teach and manage a classroom. It is a lot of work, but I love it!

This is super helpful! I thought this would be about note booking as in narrations and such but this was helpful too….when did you implement a daily checklist to begin with your children?

Glad it was helpful! I wasn't sure what to call them! I think I started with my oldest when she was in 3rd grade, and then started implementing it right away with my second as well (who was in 1st grade), because it worked so well!

Do you choose 10 spelling words for your daughter to work on, or do you follow any specific curriculum?

I choose 10, no specific curriculum. I look back over the work that she has done, to see what words have given her trouble, and I also give words that are relevant to what we are learning (such as names of countries) and works that are just tricky in general.
