Yes, that is HOW you adjust the burr, but by moving from 1 to 8 which number is more coarse and which is more fine? I got a message from KitchenAid. Setting it to one gives a more coarse grind. Setting to eight a more fine grind. So whatever you have set on the outside, the inner burr adjustment is fine tuning.
I have a KitchenAid grinder KCG8433 and had it on 8 and then put it on 1. From my experience 1 is like sand and 8 is more like tiny pebbles. So 1 is fine and 8: is course and the outside was at 51. I put it on 5-6 and will try 48 to see what happens ‼️
Yes, which setting is the finest on the internal burr adjustment. The product manual and the videos say nothing about the micro adjustment. Yes, it would seem logical that 1 is coarser than 10, but why not just add one more sentence to make that clear. Sorry, I'm an engineer. Instruction manuals need to be specific. I am talking with Kitchenaid help today. I am suggesting that they update the manual. When you are making micro adjustments, it is not obvious as to how much the grind has changed. Please Kitchenaid, make this change for the sanity of espresso drinkers every where.

Which number for finer setting?
Which is the finest setting? 8 or 1?
Love that kitchenaid can't address or respond to the fact that they are missing important information like WHAT THE F-CKING NUMBERS MEAN?!
