The Last of Us on HBO is certainly taking the world by storm. This post-apocalyptic drama series may have been adapted from a popular video game series, but the show is appealing to gamers and non-gamers alike. The series’ cast is so amazing in their roles that it can be difficult to remember that you’re not seeing real people and real events transpire while you’re watching the series. As a result, it can be just as strange to picture how exactly these actors are able to embody these characters in this unusual world so well. Some characters, like Joel and Ellie certainly had reputations that preceded them for folks who were familiar with the games. Consequently, Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey had their work cut out for them in a unique way. For characters like Bill and Frank, Nick Offerman and Murray Bartlett had the opportunity to create an entirely different backstory for already beloved characters. Other characters, like Perry and Kathleen, were entirely new to the series. It’s clear that no matter what the changes made between the video games and the series were for each individual character, it came with an unusual set of challenges for each actor. FINALLY!!! A video game adaptation worthy of seeing! It just goes to show what can happen when you follow the source material, bring on the same people responsible for the success of the game, pour your heart into it, and have the original creator take the helm.
Every cast member has poured their heart and soul into their performances, making for a believable world that immerses you into their stories. Fans of the games will be hard pressed to find anything wrong with this show.

I’m gonna be honest, til episode 4 I wasn’t really feeling the Ellie from Bella aside from some scenes- but then episode 5? My oh my Idk what happened because all of a sudden it felt like the Ellie from the game itself popped out onto the real world and manifested into Bella or something, she was freaking brilliant👌🏾
