    I had the pretty much the exact same experience with my little girl when she was 8 weeks old. She too got it from her older brother who goes to preschool. I was in hospital the same amount of time. It took about 6 weeks for the mucus to fully clear so just be prepared to continue supporting her with that for a while. Youre doing all the right things though!My daughter is now 8months old and thriving. It's crazy how many people I know who's second babies have had the same thing and I agree I think the older siblings are bringing it home which is just one of those things we will have to cope with as they come along...like you said it's almost impossible to fully restrict sibling interaction. Thanks for sharing and making us not feel so alone in quite a traumatic experience.

    You’re an amazing mum Imogen. I’ve hated every time I’ve had to take my sons to hospital and genuinely find it so traumatic but I’m aware people have it much worse than me. It’s draining but the most important thing is that our little ones are looked after ❤

    I've had many night time trips to a&e with my 5 kids always been fantastic. In my mind even if it's a wait knowing I was in the hospital if there was a emergency I was in safest place for my child. The tubes in the nose is horrendous my boy at 6 weeks had to have it but cos he was so small the struggled a senior doctor ran in and grabbed the tube and i will never forget what he said we have no choice it needs to be done now or we will lose him! He went to be stable and rushed in to surgery hes now 13 and im so glad he doesnt remember it but its something i will never forget. Im so glad she's on the mend xx

    My daughter was admitted at 4 weeks with a UTI after vomitting and rejecting feeds for a full 24 hours. They had to get a cannula in her tiny hand and she screamed blue murder whilst i had to hold her down it was so traumatic.
    After 3 or 4 nights we were discharged but she had to keep her cannula in and take her for antibiotic drips for a few days afterwards and the cannula fell out a few times so had to re-insert was truly terrible.
    I was aware at the time that things could have been so much worse but still allowed myself to feel the pain and worry me and my baby were experiencing. It was still valid.
    My little girl is 4 next month we got through the hard times and shes now thriving.
    You're an amazing mum imogen keep going ❤️

    My son had a nasogastric tube at 1 week and it stayed down until 3, he now is 16 and has a gastrostomy button, ( he has complex medical needs) 16 and in May had 2nd open heart surgery.
    I’m sorry you went through this, the NHS are the best. Hope she is feeing better. Scary times but as a parent seeing your child go through anything is heartbreaking.
    Sending you a big mummy squish 💕

    I'm so sorry to hear all this. I work in vaccine development (currently for an RSV immunisation), and its so so important to raise awareness for RSV. Only about 20% of the uk know what it is and/or have been affected. Awareness really helps us develop the need for the vaccine and the targeted cohorts.
    I'm so sorry poor girls have suffered and it will have been so difficult for you and spencer too. ❤

    We were also in hospital for 2 nights this week with my little boy having the same thing, it's heartbreaking, we're just so happy he's feeling better now.
    A heads up though, he literally had a cough for less than 24 hours before he started really struggling with his breathing, it all happened so fast!

    My twin sons were born at 29+3 weeks and were in NICU for nearly 2 months. They were tube fed and there is nothing wrong with it. They had a tube through their mouth and their nose. I have seen so many things with my babies in hospital. (This has triggered me a little bit and I know you didn’t mean it intentionally) You are a strong mama and I hope you little girl is better

    Not everything always has to be positive. I've noticed you use the word as almost a coping mechanism for yourself. You're allowed to say a situation is negative, Renealia screaming for you for 45 minutes (why Spencer felt the need to tell you that whilst you were in the hospital is beyond me) but you said it's a positive because she got to spend time with her dad....its not a positive, she was screaming for 45 minutes, say it as it is, you don't need to dress things up in a certain way to appeal to people.

    • @Imogenhorton.
      @Imogenhorton.  Před 7 měsíci +14

      Thank you angel. I think it’s because I don’t want to make others feel negative and I appreciate there’s always worse out there but you’re right I shouldn’t filter it ❤️ Spencer just wanted to vent because he was stressed which is understandable, team work makes the dream work! Xxxx

    • @SummerFox
      @SummerFox Před 7 měsíci +4

      It’s actually extremely healthy to find a positive in everything and affirm it to yourself. Trains your brain to always see the positive, therefore your experience of life is better and you’ll be in a better mood

    • @abigailkeagle6249
      @abigailkeagle6249 Před 7 měsíci

      I fully understand why Imogen puts a positive spin on bad situations. It's actually a strong skill I believe.
      I personally am the opposite (perhaps more like spencer) so I'm a complete worrier and will only focus on the negatives. It's likely imogens way of comforting her husband. While also feeling pain herself she wants to protect those around her.
      Saying all this imogen you're absolutely entitled to not feel strong sometimes and just admit life is shit sometimes. Most of the time hardship with kids is temporary. Allow yourself time to wallow in it at times.

    There is absolutely nothing worse than seeing your baby ill mine was born with a blockage in the bowel and had to have surgery at 3 days old 5lb 14 ounces i was so scared and I absolutely despised the feeding tube I hated it so I can completely understand how you were feeling they actually told me there was a chance I'd lose him and I swear I lost my mind they had to medicate me but he was a brave little man and now he's a big bouncy hyper 4 year old boy xx
