    Thanks for the how-to video! I guess I may be on the OCD side, but I usually change out each plug one at a time, that way I don't have open exposed spark plug holes that dust and crud can fall into the cylinder by accident.

      Thanks for the comment. That's a great idea. I used to do that, but it was quicker to use the same tool to take them all out at the same time, and it's not very dusty where I work.

    God job, except you never drop the plugs into the slot. They could tap the entry point and change the gap.

    I attempted to change my plugs today and found my extension which is over all about 2 and 3/4's inches is too short. Came in a 107 piece Hyper Tough SAE and Metric set. The ratchet touches engine and dip stick. I Thought it was a standard 3 inch extension but I guess it's not.. or Is this size what they call a 3 inch extension? I think a 6 inch would be too long. In any event.. I'm off in the morning to find a proper 3 inch extension and Hope it works. Thanks!

    Any idea why my car could be so bad mpg
    2010 1.0 petrol

    • @ColinLeung
      @ColinLeung  Před rokem +1

      There are a lot of factors that contribute to poor mpg. Tire pressure, heavy throttle, old spark plugs, clogged air filter, old engine oil, valve adjustments off, etc. I'd check the basic and cheap stuff first on the list.

    I managed to do it on my 2009 but on my 2011 there’s a hose blocking the right spark plug.

    And there's me thinking all petrol (gas) smarts had 6 spark plugs (2 per cyl) and if you don't change the hard to get at set they burnout exhaust valves.

      I read that 450 and 452 have six sparkplugs. 451 and 453 have 3

      @ColinLeung Hey Colin, thanks for getting back to me. I live in the central valley 20 miles north of Fresno and I can't find anyone that will make a key for me. I have a 2012 smart Brabus model and I only have one key, I ordered a blank key from ebay and can't find anyone that will cut it. I've gone to Mercedes and a bunch of shops that make keys but nothing, just wondering if you had any advice? Thanks again.

    • @ColinLeung
      @ColinLeung  Před dnem +1

      @@dougbrazil5384 Sorry to hear that. I would assume Mercedes would be able to cut your key. Is there a Smart car dealership around you? Searching online it looks like hardware stores may be able to cut your keys, but it still needs to be programmed with your car.

    • @dougbrazil5384
      @dougbrazil5384 Před dnem +1

      @ColinLeung There are no more smartcar dealerships (where I live anyway) since they quit selling them in the US. There's gotta be someone who can do it, I'll keep looking, thanks for taking the time to get back to me.
