People are bored with basic studio coverage, and now TNT is running simulcasts on Tru or TBS with ongoing commentary like the Manning Brothers started with Monday Night Football. Those can get a bit heated, especially with basketball. It's not that much of a stretch to think in ten years a channel that's well established like this and draws reliable views could either guest star on those channels or get their own stream that gets picked up because it's so popular. Not saying it's absolute, but definitely a potential future...

This video just proves Jokic's defensive prowess and incredible feeling for the game, In most of these possesions he's defending in the paint, and he's such a good interceptor and rim defender that his presence is enough for NBA level players to second guess seemingly obvious passes. Hes also aware and ready to reposition quickly to defend on these possessions, and always makes the right reads, (for example, leaving hachimura space to take the jumper in the midrange as he's prepared to switch onto AD if the pass is made).
It's very difficult to teach IQ to players, but that's why you train. I agree a good amount of those plays are things Jokic and a few other players do, and that he uses his offensive instincts and presence to confuse other players in defence, but we gotta recognize that there's a lot of coaching in this. For instance, at any Nuggets game, you can see people will cut from corner without hesitation, and if you double on Jokic he'll find that pass like 75% of the time. So you can't double him. But you can't do man either, because he'll push you, spin on you, or hook on you. So you need to use zone so he has to read it and relocate, and then you change the D. Spolstra tried this and it worked relatively well, but Miami didn't have enough offence output to get in those games. I think the Lakers have a bad coach at the end of the day, and maybe that'll be their downfall. We'll see.

nuggets are just better for the most part cuz they take high% shots(mostly 2 and not 3) while lakers were up 20 it was mostly off d lows 5 of 5 shots from 3 and ad being 90% from the field first half, AD ALWAYAS stop going to the rim and trail off in the second half, and dlow was never gonna make that up
so the combo of dlow rui and reives just missing low% 3s and AD not driving int he second half( zero points in 4th, some of this was cuz of foul trouble) its not hard, lakes need to take better hots in paint..and ironicly do what the guy in the video said to do....

exactly. the plays he kept pointing out are what the Nuggets does. esp that Aaron Gordon dunk from the dunker's spot after a Muuray/Jokic PnR. the Lakers have watched and seen these endlessly yet they still can't seem to learn from it. even if they can't stop it on defense, they should be able to imitate it on offense.

So the guy everyone calls the goat and claims to have this insanely high basketball IQ needs a coach to tell him to make the right pass to a wide open player? Didn't Lebron recently say on his podcast that "I always make the right read"?
What's even more confusing to me is that during their run in the middle of the game they were running the pick and roll correctly, built up a nice lead doing it while AD dominated - then they came out and just.... stopped? They went back to the same stuff we saw in the first quarter and early second after having tremendous success... Rui was playing awful as well, missing wide open layups, dunk opportunities, and shots that he has proven he can hit. I don't blame them for not trusting him after his early performance this game. So much going wrong though, tons of selfish plays by selfish players, bad coaching not stopping momentum and coaching them in certain instances, no challenge used by ham with two timeouts left to end the game, bad lineup management two games in a row riding players who are in slumps.
Lakers need to win two at home now to make this series interesting and it will be complicated because Ham is most likely going to try and work back in CWood and Vando, neither of whom have recent playing experience. A must win game at home isnt exactly the best time to work someone back into your lineup
there is not a single basketball game in existence where you cant find 10-30 mistakes in the whole game and to where you can pause the play while watching it back and say well this shouldve happened instead.
