Little info here, as I know several people who have rental horses and wagons or carriages. Nope, the carriage was NOT too heavy for the horse. It's not like you own a horse and have to go rent a carriage, or vice versa. This is your business, in which you attempt to earn income. What this actually was, is a huge example of total incompetence that caused a problem at someone's wedding. Horse not too old. Driver too dumn.

We are 45 days from my wedding. I was worried that watching this would cause panic or anxiety but I was laughing the whole time and the tips did help. Your videos have helped me significantly with planning my wedding years before we even got engaged haha.
Most likely, some things won't be perfect or will go wrong, but as long as nobody dies, you can laugh about it later :) Always keep in mind that the most important thing is that you get married and everyone gets home alive and well afterwards. Then you will have a great day!
I accidentally lost weight within a five day window before my wedding by cutting back on salt, and my dress that fit PERFECTLY was gaping on my breast area! Ten min before the wedding! And my sister forgot the emergency nude colored duct tape! I sent my son in law to the garage and said don’t come back without duct tape! He runs back with a giant roll of black duct tape, me and two bridesmaids dove into my bathroom, we became much closer friends as I dropped my top and hands above my head as they twirled me and taped me into that dress like our lives depended on it! I mean, it felt like it did lol. We meet our goals, one way or another. Taking that tape off that night almost ended my marriage before it was 12 hours old haha but it was a good time! And great stories. ❤❤❤
I think every wedding should have one good catastrophe, so you have something to look back on and laugh at. Wanna hear mine? In a huge thunderstorm the night before, we were nearly electrocuted by a powerline that fell as we drove past. My groom (this is Mrs. Rick) barely made it to the church on time, as he had to renew his drivers license that day. Or else. Left our suitcase in MIL's car, but did get it back. Nearly got hit by some nitwit while driving off the ferry. Hotel lobby flooded by above-mentioned storm. Had to re-pay for room due to employee incompetence. Employee who delivered FREE bottle of champagne wouldn't hand it over til he got paid. PAID???? My brand new husband who had answered the door with a towel around his waist, held up by one hand (this is important), had had enough. He let go of the towel with the first hand, grabbed the bottle with the second hand, and slammed the door in the kid's face with the first hand, which was now available, having dropped the towel. He still talks about the look on the poor kid's face when he got flashed. Still not done here. The next morning, as we swam in the pool, one of the underwater lights came floating free, still attached to its power cord, and still brightly lit. Yes, we exited that pool in a hurry. Been married 38 years plus, still in love. Still in awe that we survived the whole thing.

The cricket story reminds me of my folks. My parents married in the ‘60s. My mom had always been afraid of bees, and didn’t know until the day of the wedding that there was at least one huge beehive inside the church. Bees were flying all over and as my parents told it, she was not doing well. She clutched her father as he walked her down the aisle, and then my dad had to hold her hand tightly throughout the entire ceremony, for fear she would run scared. Luckily, it wasn’t until much later that anyone informed her that the entire time, a bee had been crawling up her wedding veil. She never knew, and admitted that had they told her, it most likely would have been her breaking point. The reception, held outside the church, wasn’t much better bee-wise, but the one on her veil was gone. Their cake tasted awful (apparently they didn’t have cake tastings back then. You simply ordered and hoped for the best), and keeping a piece in the freezer for a year (an old tradition to save one piece and eat on the first anniversary), only made it worse. But as bad as these were, my folks always looked back and laughed at it. Because, if nothing else, at least it was memorable.
My wedding was absolutely beautiful and very little went wrong (thanks to all the bingeing of Jaimi’s content and preparation!) however, one of my nephews (ring bearer one of three) got sick two times in the venue’s bushes and had to be taken home! Then my dad who bought his first tux for this event did not realize that tuxes do not have belt loops and he needed suspenders, so he nearly had his pants falling down on him coming down the aisle, then he had to change back into his jeans and t shirt for the reception! We did my father-daughter dance with him in jeans, but thankfully someone gave us the idea to have him out his tux jacket on over the t shirt!
That's great! I've always said that every wedding needs one good catastrophe so you can look back on it and laugh. People who hire wedding planners and have perfect weddings are definitely missing out. Cowards!
This was great comic relief. I too am having an Estes Park CO Wedding on 10/7/23 so 2 months! My parents and moms side all coming from Texas. We actually got double booked by accident so now we have one of the YMCA’s reunion cabins with 17 bedrooms for guests and a large beautiful space in it for our reception and a gorgeous outside mountain top ceremony space 🥰 Sometimes bad things turn into blessings. We now have an incredible space and are able to give rooms to lots of wedding party and family free of charge for 3 nights as well as decorate our reception space the night before!!
For my close friend's wedding, she brought me in in the last couple of weeks to help get everything organized, since there was no wedding planner and the family was largely handling the duties of the venue. She wanted someone who didn't know the family that well to hop in and help organize. Everyone was so wonderful about it! She also asked me to be the "body buffer" in case anything popped off at the wedding. Nothing did and everyone was wonderful. Still one of the best experiences I've had.
I highly suggest following r/weddingshaming if you are on Reddit. Let me exemplify with three stories that stood out to my wife and I: 1. The bride had a twin sister. They decided to pull a prank on the groom so they switched places on the wedding day, so the groom married the sister. When he found out, he anulled the wedding and split. 2. The bride and the groom came from two different social and financial backgrounds. One was really poor and the other was very rich. On the wedding day, guests were given one wristband of two different colors. In this way, they segregated the two guest lists, the rich from the poor. As far as I remember, people who got the "poor" color got to the table where they were given buffee food or sandwiches. The others got the good stuff. 3. One bride could not decide on her wedding dress so she bought five. As if that wasn't enough, on the wedding day she decided to do a patchwork of all five and "Frankenstein" them together. Yes, that was the same verb used in the post too.
All 3 are bad, but the first two are awful. I don't blame the groom for getting an annulment. Number 2 is the most elitist arrogant thing I've ever heard. Disgusting.
I had a cricket call in the layers of my dress during the ceremony. It was only one though and us picking it out in front of the crowd is one of my favorite pictures
I'm going to my stepbrothers wedding this weekend. A friend of the bride was organising a collective gift and asked us to contribute. We don't have a lot of money right now, so we offered less than the other people contributing. She then proceeded to pressure me to contribute the same amount as everyone else, because otherwise she said she would have to write everyone's amount in the card. It was so weird. In the end we decided to not contribute to this gift and give our own gift. First time I've ever encountered wedding drama.😅
It POURED at my bffs wedding. Mid September in the Midwest 😬 it was 54°. We didn't have an indoor plan 😬 It was beautiful but we all were sopping wet and freezing lol
If there is one thing that wedding disaster videos and Reddit posts has taught me, it’s that if you’re having an outdoor wedding, make a contingency plan for bad weather.
Some friends got married on the beach in the evening. The bride had on pretty beaded flip flops, and she was standing in a beach puddle. The wind kicked up and wrapped her long veil around her husband's head. She later told me that little beach crabs were running across her bare toes. Her husband was somewhat of an idiot, and she told me she was afraid he was going to smear grey castle-cake icing all over her face, so I backed him into a corner and read his the riot act if he did that. This is Mrs. Rick. I am 5'6" and he was 6' 5", and somebody videotaped that. It looks like I'm lecturing the underside of his nostrils. But it worked - he meekly fed her one bite from his fork. It was a cool cake too, turrets and a draw bridge and everything.
I also got married in a field and I had the same problem as the first story except with spiders lol luckily I was running on adrenaline and didn’t care at all
I agree with the cake scenario of placement time because at my uncles wedding they had a cake that somebody decided to put pudding in which I didn’t even know that that was a thing, but the wedding was in July and they brought the cake out and as soon as the coordinator cut the cake, the cake slid all the way down and onto the floor And we were in South Carolina where it’s really hot
The story with the grouchy old man with the hyper dog is probably what's going to happen at my wedding in a month, only it's my sister and her dog. The world revolves around them and I'm 99.999% positive that she wants to walk down the aisle with the dog (she's a bridesmaid) and the dog will be acting up and she'll be yelling at her and eventually she'll end up crying because her dog doesn't listen to her. She'll most likely also end up flat on her face because of misbehaving dog and the fact that she has not had her dress hemmed yet despite having had the dress since January......smh. Should have just eloped.
All that plus this: hope the dog doesn't pee on someone's leg. Just tell her that if she wants to walk down the aisle, the dog stays home. Or else she stays home too.
We allowed our siblings to bring our nieces and nephews to the wedding. (Otherwise child free) We told them our concerns with kids, and why we wanted a child free wedding other than their children. My brother in law was in the wedding party and his wife let their toddler run around up by the groomsmen during the ceremony 🫠 there was so much more…. Like they were mad, we did not have a place for them to put their daughter to bed at 7 PM. They were upset with us that she wouldn’t go to sleep when they tried to put her to sleep in the next room over from where the DJ was set up, literally right next to the dance floor, practically connected. 🤦🏻♀️
My dad fell down the stairs 5 days before my wedding and broke 4 ribs, tore a tendon in his shoulder, and had a mild concussion. I'm happy he wasnt hurt worse and he even rallied and was still able to walk me down the isle and have a father/daughter dance. Everything else about my wedding was perfect and the stuff that wasnt I didnt find out about until after 💁🏼♀️
I worked at a barn for 8 years as a teen and through college. I have seen some VERY slow walkers so that horse/carriage story is so triggering yet believeable to me. There are just some hay puppies that have their own pace and you literally can’t do anything about it 😂 also hoping the cart wasn’t too heavy or it wasn’t hot 😢
If you have a rental company, you find a horse that can actually move out. That whole thing was ridiculous. I would have deducted half of what I owed that joker. You don't make people wait like that at any event, especially a wedding. And I know a couple people who have that kind of business. If the customer has a schedule, you better be able to stick to it.

My wedding was perfect! Why? Because I married my soulmate and was surrounded by people I love. Did things go wrong? Yes!!! My daddy tripped on my train giving me away lol our exit song didn’t play lol which has now turned into a family inside joke and despite having a dry wedding many guest left the venue and went to the bar next store -.- even with our show time being 7am…. I was at a family friends wedding, the couple had a 4 month old that me and my sister where in charge of looking after for the day (we were about 22/23 at the time and very close to the couple) during the ceremony in a church as the priest said 'does anyone have any reason for these two not to be married' the baby started scream crying and we had to run out the back of the church with him. The couple heard him and started laughing and explaining he was their baby. Also baby was an angel the whole rest of the day, it's a great story to tell him now, he's 8 years old.
Why do people even try to do things like copy the bridesmaids dresses? That's just so embarrassing; it's obvious you're *not* a bridesmaid, as you were sitting in the audience and not standing by the bride. If anyone seeing you at the reception asks the bride or other wedding party members, they will explain no, you just wore the same dress. Like... WHY!?! Does she think she's going to get attention? As a fellow guest, the only attention I would be paying her would be thinking "omg how tacky".
The baby thing really ticks me off. Why on Earth would you invite people with a baby to travel for your wedding and not expect them to bring the baby? I’m sure not everyone has heard that etiquette rule of under 12 months it’s allowed but I know I certainly have. Obviously those specific parents sounded like very oblivious people but imo people need to chill about literal babies being at weddings. Babies need their mommy!
"Wearing white is not a whoops." Ummmm, what if you just don't know because you've never been to a wedding? I only had one outfit that was good enough for a fancy event and it was a white blouse. I found out 5 years later that you're not supposed to wear white to a wedding. Maybe that's why I got weird looks at the reception table I sat down at with friends of the groom's family (no seating chart). I had thought it was because I had said my parents were friends with the bride's parents and the bride's parents had separate tables.... I hate weddings.

I need some advice. My boyfriend and I have been together for almost 8 years. We are both 26. The topic of marriage has come up more than once in that time frame. Last week we discussed getting married in the next two or three years. That led to the ring discussion. Which is what I need help with. So, I asked him if I could show him pictures of rings that I like. He said no because he is going to have an engagement ring specially designed for me that reflects his personality. I said that the ring should reflect my personality since I will be wearing it all the time. Then made the comparison to me buying him a shirt as a gift. I wouldnt buy him a shirt that I would wear but one he would wear. From further conversation, I gathered he knows nothing about rings. Like how there are different types of gold or cuts of gemstones and diamonds. I know he won't purposely make an ugly ring but I'm concerned I won't like it. How do I get him to style a ring based on what I like and not what he likes?

I got married on purpose in a pink dress 30 years ago and I still love it to this day! I'm sure your Mom was a beautiful bride and just because it was different doesn't mean it wasn't gorgeous!
People pick bridesmaid dresses and groomsmen outfits. I just don't understand why people don't come up with "mother's outfits." There are so many stories on the internet about how the bride's mother, stepmother, mother in law or groom's stepmother wore white to the wedding (usually with forewarning) that I'm starting to think narcissism is becoming an epidemic. But I digress... Having special outfits for women with this Very Special Status (even if you don't hold them in high regard) puts them in a special club and gives them the recognition they think they deserve. The photographer doesn't have to get any pictures of the women together.
My mom and my husband's mom wore coordinating silver dresses to my wedding, lol my mom and I spent more time choosing her dress than mine Edit: just to clarify in reference to the last part of your comment, I DO hold both my mom and mil in high regard

The story with the grouchy old man with the hyper dog is probably what's going to happen at my wedding in a month, only it's my sister and her dog. The world revolves around them and I'm 99.999% positive that she wants to walk down the aisle with the dog (she's a bridesmaid) and the dog will be acting up and she'll be yelling at her and eventually she'll end up crying because her dog doesn't listen to her. She'll most likely also end up flat on her face because of misbehaving dog and the fact that she has not had her dress hemmed yet despite having had the dress since January......smh. Should have just eloped.
Put your foot down and uninvite the dog. If the dog shows up, sister takes it home

All that plus this: hope the dog doesn't pee on someone's leg. Just tell her that if she wants to walk down the aisle, the dog stays home. Or else she stays home too.
We allowed our siblings to bring our nieces and nephews to the wedding. (Otherwise child free) We told them our concerns with kids, and why we wanted a child free wedding other than their children. My brother in law was in the wedding party and his wife let their toddler run around up by the groomsmen during the ceremony 🫠 there was so much more…. Like they were mad, we did not have a place for them to put their daughter to bed at 7 PM. They were upset with us that she wouldn’t go to sleep when they tried to put her to sleep in the next room over from where the DJ was set up, literally right next to the dance floor, practically connected. 🤦🏻♀️
Yeah, kids and weddings. Never make an exception, you WILL live to regret it.
My dad fell down the stairs 5 days before my wedding and broke 4 ribs, tore a tendon in his shoulder, and had a mild concussion. I'm happy he wasnt hurt worse and he even rallied and was still able to walk me down the isle and have a father/daughter dance. Everything else about my wedding was perfect and the stuff that wasnt I didnt find out about until after 💁🏼♀️
I worked at a barn for 8 years as a teen and through college. I have seen some VERY slow walkers so that horse/carriage story is so triggering yet believeable to me. There are just some hay puppies that have their own pace and you literally can’t do anything about it 😂 also hoping the cart wasn’t too heavy or it wasn’t hot 😢
If you have a rental company, you find a horse that can actually move out. That whole thing was ridiculous. I would have deducted half of what I owed that joker. You don't make people wait like that at any event, especially a wedding. And I know a couple people who have that kind of business. If the customer has a schedule, you better be able to stick to it.

My wedding was perfect! Why? Because I married my soulmate and was surrounded by people I love. Did things go wrong? Yes!!! My daddy tripped on my train giving me away lol our exit song didn’t play lol which has now turned into a family inside joke and despite having a dry wedding many guest left the venue and went to the bar next store -.- even with our show time being 7am…. Life happens we just have to cherish the Kodak moments in between.
I was at a family friends wedding, the couple had a 4 month old that me and my sister where in charge of looking after for the day (we were about 22/23 at the time and very close to the couple) during the ceremony in a church as the priest said 'does anyone have any reason for these two not to be married' the baby started scream crying and we had to run out the back of the church with him. The couple heard him and started laughing and explaining he was their baby. Also baby was an angel the whole rest of the day, it's a great story to tell him now, he's 8 years old.
Why do people even try to do things like copy the bridesmaids dresses? That's just so embarrassing; it's obvious you're *not* a bridesmaid, as you were sitting in the audience and not standing by the bride. If anyone seeing you at the reception asks the bride or other wedding party members, they will explain no, you just wore the same dress. Like... WHY!?! Does she think she's going to get attention? As a fellow guest, the only attention I would be paying her would be thinking "omg how tacky".
Not as bad as the one I heard where the MOB wore her own WHITE wedding dress to the wedding.

The baby thing really ticks me off. Why on Earth would you invite people with a baby to travel for your wedding and not expect them to bring the baby? I’m sure not everyone has heard that etiquette rule of under 12 months it’s allowed but I know I certainly have. Obviously those specific parents sounded like very oblivious people but imo people need to chill about literal babies being at weddings. Babies need their mommy!

Ummmm, what if you just don't know because you've never been to a wedding? I only had one outfit that was good enough for a fancy event and it was a white blouse. I found out 5 years later that you're not supposed to wear white to a wedding.
Maybe that's why I got weird looks at the reception table I sat down at with friends of the groom's family (no seating chart). I had thought it was because I had said my parents were friends with the bride's parents and the bride's parents had separate tables.... I hate weddings.
Personally, I thought that only applied to white dresses, not just any white thing at all, lol now I'm trying to remember if I've ever worn a white shirt to a wedding before

I need some advice. My boyfriend and I have been together for almost 8 years. We are both 26. The topic of marriage has come up more than once in that time frame. Last week we discussed getting married in the next two or three years. That led to the ring discussion. Which is what I need help with.
So, I asked him if I could show him pictures of rings that I like. He said no because he is going to have an engagement ring specially designed for me that reflects his personality. I said that the ring should reflect my personality since I will be wearing it all the time. Then made the comparison to me buying him a shirt as a gift. I wouldnt buy him a shirt that I would wear but one he would wear. From further conversation, I gathered he knows nothing about rings. Like how there are different types of gold or cuts of gemstones and diamonds. I know he won't purposely make an ugly ring but I'm concerned I won't like it. How do I get him to style a ring based on what I like and not what he likes?
Maybe he can take your mom or bff ring shopping with him?

I got married on purpose in a pink dress 30 years ago and I still love it to this day! I'm sure your Mom was a beautiful bride and just because it was different doesn't mean it wasn't gorgeous!
People pick bridesmaid dresses and groomsmen outfits. I just don't understand why people don't come up with "mother's outfits." There are so many stories on the internet about how the bride's mother, stepmother, mother in law or groom's stepmother wore white to the wedding (usually with forewarning) that I'm starting to think narcissism is becoming an epidemic. But I digress... Having special outfits for women with this Very Special Status (even if you don't hold them in high regard) puts them in a special club and gives them the recognition they think they deserve. The photographer doesn't have to get any pictures of the women together.
My mom and my husband's mom wore coordinating silver dresses to my wedding, lol my mom and I spent more time choosing her dress than mine
