Clever hook-laden indie-pop is just about the best thing ever, and this is a masterpiece of the genre.
This song is like hearing the other side of the story - not the usual heartbroken lover lyrics we are often exposed too... and. Kodallines “All I want” and this song could have been the same story at some point - 2 people who collided paths, the other who didn’t care... and of course only hearing the narrative of one perspective will limit our understanding of the truth... And the difference of responses to their “breakup” range from “if you love me, why’d you leave me?” (him) to “Tomorrow I won’t give a fuck.” (Her)... crazy! And isn’t it tragically funny that both could feel the way the other feels but towards different people... we never understand the other person... because we just never align most of the time.

I love the part of the video where she's getting her nails done. I just saw this video yesterday and the amount of times I've watched it has got to be at least in the teens by now!
Saw her open for Lake street dive and really liked her music. Her voice reminds me of the best parts or the girl from sylvan esso and the singer from Manchester orchestra put together! Also really talented to open a show all alone, that takes guts!

I like her music, but honestly I love this one song on a higher level. Her writing, her guitar, and her band all come together for an Alanis Morrissette-style groove. She should expand on this type of song. It's also in the direction of Kelly's "Since You Been Gone."

Hmm... I really don't hear any Elliott Smith in her music. To each their own...
the way she sings "cry" in the verse reminds me of how elliott sings a lot of his lines. but the entirety of the verse is really similar to elliott verses. the way she extends "i" in the line "about you and i ..". the lyrical content and production as well are along the same lines though of course this track is a tad heavier and modern sounding than elliott's work, naturally.
