Gramp's videos got me into BF2042 and really helped me get better at the game.
Now I can comfortably hit guys at the same range while laughing manically, right before they get infuriated and send all their air support and vehicles to take me out.

The recon class cannot revive you unless he's in your squad, but there are also a lot of support class players that don't bother to revive.
yeah, I usually just skip instantly cause the chance of being revived is so low 🥲

when i mean the beta was better i mean it ran better, 200fps average in chaos with an ongoing weather event on max graphics with a GTX 1660 type of ran better (that is so specific because it is true) and when it released you would struggle 90fps in a lobby by yourself with no weather event in any map on low settings with any 20 series card or equivalent, played better, felt better, and looked better

Just FYI the guy that didn’t revive you was a sniper class and not in your squad so he couldn’t revive you. There was another medic around but not the guy you were looking at
i went from getting 13-18 kills to 25+ per game. The fact that each dial is double the range on bf 2042 from your explanation really helped out because I was wondering why my shots were way off

**Something fun you might want to try, Grandpa (if you can convince a squad of friends to join in):**
I used to do this with my sniper teams back in BC2, BF3, and BF4. When I played in a clan, we had different strategies for various maps. Although I’m not sure if suppression still works mechanically in-game, as the franchise has changed so much (I don’t play online anymore), the psychology of players hasn’t changed much. Most players crave a Hollywood-style experience and will often rush headlong into chaos for the thrill of a heavy shootout. They’ll also tend to return to the same spot for a revenge arc. Here’s how I used to set the bait by making myself a "perceived easy kill":
Get a dedicated automatic rifleman and a medic in a hard-to-reach perch, preferably on the edge of the map to avoid flanks. The key here is bullet drop, so the AR man can stay relatively covered (don’t bipod on the ledge), while the medic watches his back and keeps him healthy. The AR man should focus on general target-rich areas, such as spawn points. The medic should bring smoke grenades and cover their perch with fog to draw as much enemy aggression as they can handle. Remember, the AR man doesn’t need to see; he can keep firing at red dots or general building callouts through the smoke. It’s not about damage or accuracy; it’s about the sound of the bullet cracking near an enemy. The goal is CONSTANT fire-belt after belt of suppressive fire, making as much noise as possible to create a Hollywood experience for the enemy.
Predictably, when bullets land nearby, most enemy players will stop in their tracks. Believing they aren’t the target of so much fire, they’ll start looking for the kill, no matter the distance. Eventually, other players will also want that same kill (because it’s very annoying), and they’ll start gathering in one location around the chaos of the bullet splash, shooting back at the AR man like he’s a trophy to bag.
At this point, predictably, every enemy player goes sniper by mid-game, which is hilarious because it means everyone wants to kill this one guy unloading belts on their spawn. Meanwhile, nobody on the enemy team cares about the objectives anymore. So, your teammates will inevitably capture and control most of the objectives, doing most of the heavy lifting with blueberry and AT/AR work, leaving the enemy with only one place to spawn.
Your role is to set up somewhere on the flank where the AR man can spray your location as well, as a Hail Mary. You can then pick off anyone trying to get close to the AR nest. I’m not going to tell a professional sniper how to snipe-you’ve got that part figured out. But when the AR team sets this up for you, it’s like shooting fish in a barrel. It’s like lifting a rock and watching the cockroaches gather. The inaccurate AR fire gives the enemy a false sense of confidence, and they’ll start standing out in the open, very still, trying to get a clean angle on your man. That’s when you clean up, and the blueberries will generally provide fodder between you and the redberry blob.
We used to do this all the time in BF3 and BF4. As a dedicated AR man, I never needed to see a target to know it was there. I’d just shoot a metric ton of bullets at any given corner or window and spam the spot button. Since the fire was so inaccurate yet constant, players would assume they weren’t the target and start poking their heads out. That’s when you clean up.
So I havnt played battlefield since like 2018 and I recently found your channel and saw your snipes and they are so satisfying to watch and 2 days ago I downloaded battlefield 2042 and now I’m addicted to long range sniping in the game it’s so good 😂 I’ve only been on for 2 days and I’ve already hit a 663m headshot all the way across that map with the rocket that launches I forget the name is it orbital maybe ? I also hit a guy on a zip line from 528m whilst he was moving too it was so nice. But yeah it’s so satisfying I can’t stop playing now so thanks for posting these videos 🤝

For an SWS with Gramp’s loadout, regular rounds shoot 300m at the first dash, 500m at the 2, and high power rounds go 500m at the small dash, 800m at the 2.
What's the ranges for the DXR-1?

I completely agree. I have gone back to BF because of your videos and I am loving it so thanks for that. Unfortunately, as a BF vet, I have seen that the same old thing is still happening - My team mate goes down, I go to revive and they redeploy before I can. I have also noticed that the mildots don't line up so good call on letting everyone know

I just bought the game Friday 8/9 and came back to get pointers on sniping bc the reticle was not helping in game. Also, feel you on the lack of revives in squads.
Clear explanation my issue is the sws and xce bar with a scummy loadout just becomes a spam and pray i love my dxr and having 160+ masteries in it i wouldn't change it i got all my marks when it comes to 200, 400 m.. and so on my current record is a cean 1249m headshot i wish they added maps where we could do 3 K or almost 4 K shots i'll play everyday
I really dig the video's and streams. I'd slightly disagree with shooting equipment first though. If you kill specifically a sniper, you have them ranged in. Let'em spawn and kill'em again. I only go for the equipment first just to get the range down and they don't start jumping around.

add 15 seconds to respawn and people would play a lot differently. everyone would complain, but you can't argue with the meta in how the community would shift in squad playstyle.
God i miss the days of bad company 2 so much. Squad play and destructibility used to mean something. The thrill of playing so well that you lock the enemy team into a panic freefall and then steamroll them in a game of RUSH. Add a good helo pilot and door gunner on the back flank forcing everyone to look behind them. nowhere to hide! I miss it so much.
Arma3 was a pain to respawn before Zeus mod became the new norm. If you died you had to spawn at the base, kit up and wait for a real pilot to come get you, then they'd drop you at the closest LZ, then you have to hoof it 400 meters to the front line. it could be anywhere between 20-40 minutes just to get back to the flashpoint, so you made sure to keep your head down and stay in the fight. The game made you get real anal about keeping a battle buddy and medic nearby, as well as lots of smoke and a metric ton of AR supression fire to confuse the ai while the marksmen would pick off targets. Sadly... everyone thinks they are a sniper. That's why i got about 6k hours in Arma3 using all tracer-200-round-belts of iron sighted AR. Make it rain FTW. Painting the targets like its Christmas since 2013. I miss primetime arma as well.
The players have changed the gaming zeitgeist. and maybe it's not all their fault either. Publishers make something you buy and get bored with in 3 months to buy and play something else.
He didn't refuse to revive you, he didn't have the ability to revive you. Only the Support class and your Squadmates (regardless of their class) can revive you.

I’m always using Boris and setup the sentry gun in places where even if I go down I’ll wait out a no revive just to let it keep shooting until the timer runs out. Sometimes I get a good Blueberry medic but not always. Lmao.
Everything gramps is saying is true. I do long distance shots with the 50 cal and it's the same concept. Only difference is there is more compensation being done with the 50. Lol
If you weren't giving a tutorial you wouldn't have been shoot you wouldn't need revival. Food for thought. Just keep releasing more tutorials

I would like to mention that the sniper on the crane with you wasn't on your squad and wasn't a medic. Thus he couldn't revive you.
That's not the case in this game, you can be a sniper or assault class and still revive others
It just won't be to full health like a medic

Hey grndpagaming, that guy you were watching wasn’t designated as the nearby medic so he wasn’t able to revive. If you look at the bottom right corner when you’re down, you’ll see who and how far away the medic is. Your green squad mates are all able to revive, but yeah that still doesn’t change the fact that a lot of people on BF just don’t pay attention or outright ignore you.
Anyone can revive anyone else class or not squad or not I have done it as a recon on another class not in my squad

Well, you’re wrong I can revive anyone outside my squad even if I’m not a medic anyone can revive anyone back to life, but will not have full health if they are not a medic

I've been wondering how the scops work on BF2042... It's been confusing me, I figured it was 100m at center, then the first one was 200, then 300 etc. But now that I know it's 0, 200, 400 it should help a lot lol. Thank you.

He can't revive you unless he's in your squad. But you're not wrong. We shoot the same (❤DXR1/thermal) and I've had plenty of medics and squad mates that just left me there. Or worse, teammates that don't like the idea of you "camping" and get right up in your sights, throw smoke or even spawn a vehicle on your head. Jerks.
Guilty as charged. If i see you along with the rest of the squad all prone in some corner of the map while i'm doing my best to PTFO then you're getting a free hovercraft delivered straight to your head.
Take it as a lesson in situational awareness, how can you dodge a guy sneaking up behind you if you can't dodge a vehicle slowly parachuting in on your face?

Battlefield isn't that realistic yet, hopefully they will intergrade a more realistic combat system on the next Battlefield
although true, i kind of like the arcady, fake feel of games like call of duty and battlefield, if i wanted to play a realistic game id probably try a milsim instead

Battlefield 5 lets you at least somewhat dail in your scope. sadly they fucked up in this game and didnt do it right.
and the marks depend on wich gun and which amo and barrel you use. you cant just say dot x = x meter. does not work like that. it depends on your setup. This is only acurate for your setup.
