Sometimes those warehouses just irritating... I really hope that in the next game player will have more options to control logistics. Ideally I would love to have some options to assign buildings and tasks for warehouses... I mean that I don't want to import resources or to see how those resources getting transferred from another part of the city to warehouse...
I wish they had a power industry option, one in which you can pick between Coal and Oil, Water and Solar (Green) and Nuclear power, it would also allow you to add sub stations and underground power lines.

I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong, but I find whenever I put down silos or barns, I suddenly have a massive influx of import trucks to fill up the storage buildings. This is despite having multiple extractors all working at the same time. And of course, this massive influx of imports causes a huge dent on my income, even if only for a short while. Any suggestions on how to prevent this? I find it happens with my oil industries, as well.
Most probably those extractors are already occupied/committed to other buildings when you put down those silos. It takes time before the dispatched trucks to return. I suggest you just wait it out or if you can, place the extractor and the storage at the same time. Note that the income/expense for import and export will not show on the industry but rather on the import/export hub.
Nice video and so good explained. Just started with CS remastered on ps5. But when I unlock all milestones Nobody enter my city. Buildings (houses) are build. But I have 0 residents and unhappy face

Thank you, Riese. The problem with CS logic is you cannot guarantee that the industry will use the nearest export hub. So it is better to have a central hub that all the industries can easily access.
Unfortunately we cannot turn on/off the import (and export) unless you lockdown your city. You can increase the number of your extractors. Processors and warehouses least priority is the import/export if the resources within the city is enough and are easily accessible (i.e. the city has good traffic flow).
Me too. Lol. I just had a better understanding when i was preparing this video. Before, I was just also plopping every building here and there and then leave the delivery trucks to do the works. Lol.
@@RickyKingPlays And for the next part, is to understand about the extractors (and process buildings if also have "levels"): the higher level of extractor cost more to upkeep (or less efficient in terms of production/upkeep) but more efficient with traffic as it will send it's trucks more frequently.
Great explanation. I'm new to this DLC so had no idea about any of this. I build the farm main building, but its not letting me place extractors, even right next to it. Its in a yellow farming zone. I can't figure out why, but I'm sure I'll figure it out and have a better understanding of what follows thanks to this video.

No, you cannot import glass, and other special goods. Special goods are the materials used by unique factories (with the exception of crops, which is a raw material). These materials must be processed by your industry.
I 1st started my industryDLC. And chose farming as starter. But my small silo kept importing goods from outside world though it's capacity is full. And all the trucking swarming from outside and make a headache jam in way in Industry district. What should i do? Fact 1 my small farm not yet producing to the max and fact 2 i already establishe d train cargo nearby hoping that silo starts exporting crops. But it didnt work as expexted. Pls guidance
Relocate that silo near the highway entrance. It usually takes time for the importers to respond tot he demand, especially if they are coming thru highways.
@@RickyKingPlays i did turned off t 3 silos to respond to the situations. But the trucks kept coming and unloading on the turned off silos. Not sure if it is a bug or just the way the game react

You have to paint the area. When you select the main building on paint tool menu, you will see that the main building is with covered by a small circular blob (just like when you create the main building of a park, or when paint a district) expand that. That will be the farming zone.

@@username20131 Extractors should be in fertile land. Commercial buildings receive goods from all over the city, proximity is not a guarantee it will receive only from those who are near.
I produce about 120 tons crops but its just 10 tons use by processers and rest of them is export . Processers says not enough raw materials and farm says not enough buyers what should i do ? Thank you
Give it some time. Maybe the extractors are already assigned to export when the demand by processors are placed. Check the traffic flow between the extractor and the highway exit. Usually, the export via road takes time. Providing storage facilities will also help.
I don't want to build oil and ore industries, as I'm learning in sandbox mode and want to create an utopian solarpunk city with little to zero pollution. But, I want to have those unique factories too. Will the rest of the requirements (except farm and forestry products) be imported from outside connection?
You can import raw materials but not the processed products. i. e. You can import oil but not petroleum and plastic. You still have to put up processing plants which generates pollution.

The base game industry (the one you paint yellow) are the one you will wait to be built, they are called "growables". But for this (from Industries DLC), you can select the building and place it anywhere (within the industry zone, for most of the buildings). these are called "ploppables" Welcome to the community. i'd would have liked this map to include what stages stuff from from extractors/processors/unique factories are viable to be sent to the classic Industry zones
Thanks. Even some buildings have no ground pollution, they can have noise pollution so i always keep them away from residentials. I keep factories in one area close to airport cargo or harbor cargo.
Check the store, I think some DLC's are still on sale or even free. You'll also need a good traffic flow to enjoy the game along with this DLC, I would recommend, take the Mass Transit also.
I found the video very informative, to be fair, however at, Edit correction*: 05:49 forward, for that statement, you cannot even read half of it. I was able to discern the meaning thru inference, and repeated use of the pause button, but barely. Rather frustrating.

@@dirkd7510 you'll find it's because your extractors need time to fill before they transport, so all warehouse storage will automatically import until you are producing enough
this never works right though, constantly have one building complaining they're out of materials and the building right next to it has that material but no one to sell to and such... very annoying..
Give it some time to adjust. It could be an access issue. For instance, when materials are ordered from outside it take some time to deliver and there's a possibility of despawning if it encounter a traffic jam.
Same for me. The extractors are full and the processors complain that they do not have the needed crops. The silos are full as well. But nearly all crops are exported. I watched this for two years game time and it does not change much. In total only about 10% of the crops are used by the processors, the rest ist exported...
At first I was disappointed in the lack of narration, but you laid it out so well visually that it didn't need it. This is a great guide!

I agree, right now, we don't have the option to turn on or off the import and export to/from warehouses. That would be an awesome feature to have.

I find with unique buildings it pays to have dedicated warehousing for each material that it uses so it can call up from there for resources

You need to see how many dedicated vehicles are in use for each storage unit if they are all in use it will import to fill

For farming, extractors should be placed along roadside and the soil should be suitable for farming.

Check which DLC is on sale right now. If you're playing on console, I believe there are older DLC's that are on sale, get them first.

No, all crops are the same. It's only the appearance that will change if you choose apples, or corn, or wheat, but the output is all crops.

Hi, Oscar. The map where the layout is on, is Shady Strands. But I used other maps seen on cinematic shots, like Fishers Enclave, and Eden Valley.

It's almost the same. Except that in classic zoned industries, there are no factories, and we cannot control which building will plop from the zone.

I just love when I have tons and tons of crops but my storage facility is filled by importing crops lol.
Weird, right. Lol. It could happen when your farms are busy supplying crops to processors or factories.
At least it comes in handy when you don't have a resource, say, like Oil. Start Oil business put down Oil storage, bam Oil is imported.

this never works right though, constantly have one building complaining they're out of materials and the building right next to it has that material but no one to sell to and such... very annoying..
Give it some time to adjust. It could be an access issue. For instance, when materials are ordered from outside it take some time to deliver and there's a possibility of despawning if it encounter a traffic jam.
Same for me. The extractors are full and the processors complain that they do not have the needed crops. The silos are full as well. But nearly all crops are exported. I watched this for two years game time and it does not change much. In total only about 10% of the crops are used by the processors, the rest ist exported...
