Hey if you want better food and culinary experience in Kathmandu, go to right places and better restaurants and there are so many of them. Nepali culinary is not bad, we have top notch restaurants here in Nepal. Whatever cuisine you are looking for, it is available here in KTM. For the note, If you are travelling here like I am better than them mentality and in the contrary, No one gives a rat A## in Kathmandu about your originality and where you from. Almost every households in Kathmandu, their loved ones live abroad. millions of people come to visit Nepal from all around the globe every year. Do not feel you are especial and should be treated like different human being just because you are from India.

At thamel, You can go to BK’s cafe for french fries, Hankook sarang and Picnic kitchen restaurant (especially try their pork bbq) for korean food. Fire and Ice restaurant for italian food especially for their pizza. And for Thakali khana, you can visit Tukeche restaurant at Gairidhara 5,10 mins away from thamel by vehicle and also Zimbu Thakali restaurant at Tangal, both of these restaurants are near by.
