The law in Vietnam is up side down. Only the parents can have the custody of a child and never the in-laws. Between the parents, only the rich parent who should always be present and not absent giving the care to the in-laws can take the child. But visitation cannot be denied as many times to the other parent. When the child aged to 18 years old, she/he can choose which parent she/he will go to.
