The variations of the decor in your house, remind me a lot of a resort I stayed in many years ago. I loved that place! And if I had been able to, I would have relocated to that place and started "a brand new storyline for MYSELF."
But now instead of wishing for something else, I will concentrate on what I already have. And I will treasure it.

Homestead Tessie is a great friend to have, glad to hear she promotes you. Sorry to hear Connie Hultquist has passed, it seems she was too young to be gone. I share your ability to sort out things I don't agree with and enjoy the parts of a book or YT channel that I can learn from. I guess I could say my MS taught me to accept what is and I have learned to love having a simple life. You're really speaking from your heart today.♥♥
I have to share with you two things I have made recently. French bread, sautéed veggies( onion, bell pepper, zuchinni ) and Guac and cheese sandwiches. Just buy a loaf of French bread and cut into individual sandwiches. Also I have made two frittatas ( mushroom, spinach, onion, bell pepper), cheese or not, eggs and bacon or sausage or not. Bake at 350 for 25-30 minutes. So good! And freezes well too.

I just love your videos. When I've got my cleaning and chores done for the day, I light a candle, brew some coffee and watch one of your videos. My sisters, mom, nieces and I just took a trip to Kona Hawaii. We had a lot of fun - also toured a coffee farm and I brought some beans back - that was my treat I had planned for mysel:) So now I can drink Hawaiian coffee and enjoy your videos! I feel like I'm sitting right there with you. I wish I could give you a cup of the Kona coffee, it's so good. And you helped inspire us to take that trip and make memories. So thank you!! ❤💛

Kate. your crocheting is lovely. love your colors as they are so good together. i have a hard time matching colors. i had so many tiny balls of scraps. i wish i could paint my walls like u do...all the beautiful colors. i painted my kitchen cabinets in honor of yours. i wanted red but i found free paint never opened on the sidewalk. So i went with that. hugs and cant wait for the up and coming wonderful videos of our Kate cooking! i love all your books even if i dont have but one. i would love to order all.
LOL - I am just the opposite on doing laundry. I put of washing it as long as possible - then why dry, I hang and fold and put away immediately. It is like my 'store' is back open and has inventory again! I love all the fresh clean clothes to choose from.
It is a great feeling. I will one day catch up to my system...or get a system.
Yay! More book suggestions. I bought "We Had Everything But Money". I'm trying like heck to be a SAHM. It's not happening yet. Yet. I keep saying yet. You are an inspiration to me. Between your channel and your books, I think "I want a life like Kate's."

I wanted to tell you that if you want chestnuts, you will need 2 of them. Years ago my father who loved chestnuts, got 2 of them in his tiny yard. They grew monstrous in a short time and gave a ton of chestnuts, but they were small. Less than half size you would find in the grocery store. My concern if you get another, they will shade nearly your whole yard and then be difficult For you to grow your garden.
We do have two and I'm a little concerned with one of them, it may have died so we put in another (three now). They are placed in spots that it's fine if they get big, except one place, but that is the one that may have died. We will see. They won't effect the garden but maybe the neighbors side so lots of pruning.

Most people do have to go to work, that's why I'm fascinated with how she managed to not have to. I would have loved her to get into more detail.

I think most people couldn't afford to buy their home , that they currently live in, with today's prices. I know when I sold our home in California, I couldn't have afforded the market price I was asking ( and got) . Being a home maker (for me for the last 31 yrs) is the best job. However, if you can't afford to have children and stay home without hand outs from the government, aka taxpayers, then it's not something that should be done. 🥰🍋🍒🍑💐💗✝
To add another thing to consider, we found that when our kids were small the cost to have two of us working was so high that we only had a net gain of 135 a month. That didn’t make the difference between needing help ( we used WIC) and not. We were still really strapped when I stopped working for compensation, but our home life was much better.

I read Alter ego and I agree that the writing isn't great- it reads like sports journalism which I can't stand! I gave up after a couple of chapters.
