out of curiosity would you still rank ninjago’s animation over monkie kid after finishing monkie kid? I honestly think season 3-4 do a great job at representing the show since 1 and 2 are a bit slow. I personally rank it better than ninjago
@@Turbozip_2 seasons 1 and 2 are on amazon prime but theres alot of drives floating around with all of the episodes since its a bit hard to watch in the US
Okay well I think Ninjago deserved to win here, but you’re comparing a mid ninjago set to an amazing monkie kid set. It isn’t a fair comparison to compare two massive themes based off of a singular set.
Both are great themes with great designs…Ninjago has been running for 15 seasons with more to be release in the future, it’s possible some fans are burnt out by the designs for now and that’s ok. Just like the other long running themes like SW and HP, there are good set waves and bad set waves. Both themes have their purposes and can co-exist imo.
Honestly I hate comparing themes, when it comes down to me, it’s specific sets from waves that work, there’s sets from this year of Mk that I dislike and there’s sets of Ninjago that just don’t work (mostly the vehicles). Ninjago will always be my favorite theme, cause it’s my childhood… but MK has manage to capture the early Ninjago energy, that modern Ninjago lacks these days, specially with the bigger sets like the heavenly realms, flower fruit mountain, and even overlooked stuff like the Van. P.S. Please Watch MK Season 3 it’s the heavily serialized and the conclusion is bonkers. It’s more similar to Ninjago in format, if that’s more of your thing. With the first 2 seasons the creative staff was kinda forced to be more episodic and easy to watch for newer viewers, rather than to retain returning viewers.
It’s honestly unfair to compare these two together, one of the huge reasons ppl are hating on the monkie kid series is because of nostalgia and ppl don’t like to give different shows a chance. How can you even compete with a show that has 15 seasons and has more sets?? Ninjago is my childhood but I’m questioning if it anyone in the comments have actually seen the show to judge. I really wish Monkie kid got more recognition. Especially with the unique artstyle and amazing animation.
Honestly, I have seen some episodes of Ninjago when I was younger, but it never really got my attention as much as Monkie Kid does today. I will say I do prefer it over Ninjago, and while my opinion could be perceived as a bit biased, I do have reason as to why I prefer Lego Monkie Kid over Lego Ninjago
I cant put into words how much i love monkie kid. Actually i can. It got me to read Journey to The West a 2000 page long, 500 year old book. Seasons 3+4 altered my brain chemistry.
I think it's unfair to compare just two random sets, one from each theme. I mean, price HAS to go to Ninjago. Ninjago city gardens set has the best price per piece ratio, apart from art sets, but those are 99.5% studs. And it's not even the only one. Ninjago city is really close, Ninjago city docks too, so are the 2 most recent bounties and so many other sets that come to mind. And price per piece isn't everything, it's also the amount of larger pieces in the set, which there are a ton of those in the temple set. It's kinda unfair to compare one of the worst sets from the Ninjago theme and one of the best sets from the Monkie kid theme. No hate, just some constructive critisism 👍. Other than that, I enjoyed the vid a lot.
yea, i bought ninjago city gardens for 240 euros, whitch is about 4cents per piece, whitch is just awesone, and monkey kid is just like fallen shard of ninjago
I agree with you on that statement! As well as the fact that Crystallized specifically has more gold pieces that cost more due to how much more difficult it is for lego to make than regular parts!
I think that "Crystal king temple" is really good set(Outside of some smaller issues) but gets overshadowed by other sets like "Crystal king", so I agree with you. He should put something like "Crystal king" against Monke kid dragon.
Ive always been a fan of Ninjago, and the set is very cool. It has great detail, and very unique pieces to the build. The Monkie Kid set also has detail, but I think that Ninjago focuses on the cooler details when it comes to the build. Also, the Ninjago set has more things to it, like the stairs breaking, you literally can knock off a character when they try to get the Nunchucks Of Lightning, a shard that can go up and down, a prison (I'm a really big fan of prisons, ever since I got a Bat Girl set when I was 7), and many more characters. You get the whole gang! Well except for Lloyde and Nya :,) But either way, definitely would get my vote on Ninjago.
My personal opinion: Price: Overall, I think Monkie Kid has the best Price per Piece ratio, and even price per "stuff" ratio (according to Jangbricks). The Ninjago sets get a bit overpriced for the volume of "stuff" you actually get. 1 point to MK. Builds and experiences: There are lots of sets with really great features and pieces. They are both fun themes to build sets for. 1 point for each. Minifigures: I am not very invested into the lore of either of the shows these themes go with, so out of detail and design they go to Monkie Kid. Ninjago can have some incredible figures but more often most of the figures are repetitive and generic, especially most versions of the main ninja. 1 point to MK. Shows: This one is difficult. The plot and episodic flow of Ninjago is great, but I really love the stylised animation of Monkie Kid as well as the humor. Another tie. 1 point to each. Monkie Kid wins 4/2, but that's just my opinion not fact
As much as I like some of the Monkey Kid sets like the dragon from this video, Flower Fruit Mountain, & the White Horse Dragon Jet, I grew up with Ninjago & have seen every episode as it aired on TV. I’d definitely have to give it to Ninjago here.
@@muffin8460 Why not? Plus I do have 23 out of the 46 different Zane figures & like 15 Jay figures as well. I will say it’s a pretty close competition. Much closer than any other theme that’s currently out would make it. Marvel really only has the Daily Bugle I like & Minecraft occasionally has a few sets that are good like the Nether Bastion or Deep Dark but none of them really quite consistently have sets I like every wave like Ninjago or Monkey Kid, even if I don’t end up getting all the sets myself.
@@muffin8460 Whatever. This is an opinion I stated over 5 months ago I really don’t feel like arguing about it all over again. This is my opinion & if you have your own opinion I can respect that.
Just saying it’s kinda unfair to judge the shows without finishing Monkie Kid. You really gotta watch season 3, it’s easily the best of the show, and it goes HARD. It actually has a consistent plot through out the whole season and it’s really interesting, and the finale is pretty good too.
Very epic, justba little suggestion on a future mic if its alr, the space rocket thing from rebooted bc we didnt get anything at all even close to that in the set wave, your mods/vids are epic
I love Ninjago it's my childhood and i have been collecting it since the beginning but in-terms of minifigures modern Ninjago figures has been more generic unlike before that each member of the serpentine has different minifigure designs but today they are using the same mold for snakes over and over just changing it's color Ninjago rarely introduces new molds for the characters nowadays where Monkie kid is much superior almost each minifigure has a special mold or piece for them and the details of the minifigure is 10/10
@@Kolynogy they are great! But how about the Maaray Guards, core snakes and pyro vipers having the same head molds just in different colors. The keepers who has the same torso, leg and head prints. Or even the council of the crystal king who has the same torso and leg prints except from pythor ninjago nowadays only put effort on the main villain of the wave but in terms of the army of the main villain they are all generic and have nothing special to them
As a nerd who watches ninjago religiously. The ninjago set has so much nostalgia as its for the final season. It mirrors the ninja getting their weapons for the first time and they even included the 4 original ninja so lego knew what they were doing. Personally I prefer location based builds more than vehicles or animals so I may be bias however aesthetically the ninjago set looks better and seems more thought out in relation to the show. Ninjago takes this for me easily.
The ninjago set you chose has just come off the back of the sudden price increases, while Monkie Kid has been consistently expensive since its Launch, as it is designed for a upper-middle class Chinese Market. Take the the first wave of Monkie Kid and compare it to that year's Ninjago sets and I will gurantee that Ninjago was cheaper. Unfortunately that is no longer the case, but I would not base your opinion off price-per piece, as the detail, complexity and density of plastic are all variable factors.
By my own admission, I don't have much experience with Monkie Kid. I've never gotten any of the sets and have only seen clips of the show (so take everything I have to saw with a grain of salt), but from the info I do have, I still strongly believe Ninjago to be the better theme simply because it is so fantastic that MK would have to be nearly perfect to supersede it. *Show:* Again, I haven't seen MK in full but the sheer quality and quantity of Ninjago is unmatched. Ninjago has 15 years worth of content with the worst seasons being meh but the best being so good that they are some of the best animated content I have ever seen. I'm talking about seasons like 4, 8, and 9, those are masterpieces that push the boundaries of stories you are allowed to tell in a kids show. Unless MK is putting out Avatar quality for all 3 of it's current seasons, there is just no way it can complete with Ninjago. People adore MK's animation and rightly so, but I don't think it's fair to say it's "better" than Ninjago's as many often do. For one thing, that's comparing 2D to 3D animation, it's two entirely different mediums. That's like comparing apples to oranges. Second, Ninjago has *really* good 3D animation. 3D animation for tv was really rare in the early 2010's and not only did Ninjago pull it off, they made it look good. And they got better and better with time, culminating with season 8-10. That animation looked so good that the only 3D shows that looked better were the likes of Clone Wars and Trollhunters. Even today, Ninjago's animation is in a league of it's own, the show looks significantly better than other 3D animated tv shows on air right now. *Price:* I think this one is generally pretty equal. Another comment pretty much covered it so I won't repeat their words or wisdom, but there is amazing value in many Ninjago sets just as there is amazing value in many MK sets. But one thing I should add is that Ninjago's entry price is much lower. Most MK sets are over 80 dollars and most kids don't that that sort of money to burn. Ninjago meanwhile has loads of sets in the 10-50 dollar range making it much more affordable. *Building Experience:* Can't really speak for this one since I don't have MK sets but both themes look like they have a lot of variety. This one is probably equal too. *Playability:* I think Ninjago wins in this case. MK sets often don't have as many play features or characters compared to Ninjago. MK sets look great on display, but even in this regard Ninjago competes because plenty of their larger sets also look excellent on display and have better play features to boot. *Minifigures:* That last point might be a bit of a toss up. MK minifigs have better amazing printing and absolutely crazy hair molds. But Ninjago produces way more unique minifigures and characters overall. Ninjago sets also come with more minifigs in general. Lastly, Ninjago does wild stuff with their figures that no other theme does. Like they will make armies of snake people, transparent ghosts, and crystal dragon warriors as well as amazing individual minifigs NRG Nya or Prince Kalmaar. MK just can't match that level of diversity. That's why I have to go with Ninjago, it just outclasses MK in nearly ever category. At best it equalizes Ninjago but even then being equal to Ninjago in some regards for 3 years can't compare to everything Ninjago has done in the last 11.
As a 10-year Ninjago fan and long-time supporter of that show, I have to admit that Monkie Kid is LEAGUES better, at least in the show. *Animation* You mention that Ninjago has some great 3D animation, and it does. WilFilm had some of the best stuff I'd ever seen in a cartoon, but the more cartoony style of WildBrain is trying to have the best of both 3D and 2D, and it fails at both. But Ninjago has had over a decade and it still doesn't always look great. Monkie Kid's animation is so clearly better, it's not even a competition, especially if you take a look at something like the finale of Season 3, or basically all of Season 4. Even though it is animated in 2D, the camera angles and action direction is clearly better than 90% of Ninjago. Monkie Kid takes this. *Characterization* Now, Ninjago has had some of my favourite characters ever, but it was designed to last three years. They've been able to stretch it for quite a while before the cracks started to show, but it's clear by now that there is no way anyone has a plan for how the Ninja are supposed to develop or even do the bare minimum of _not regress._ Meanwhile Monkie Kid has some of the most long-term plans for its characters I've ever seen. There's easily another six seasons of character development that can happen for MK, Mei, Tang, Pigsy, Sandy, Sun Wukong, Macaque, and many more without any regression or relearning mistakes. Monkie Kid takes this once again. *Voice Acting* Ninjago has the both blessing and curse of being animated in Canada, which basically only gives them access to the Vancouver VAs. While I don't think there are many _miscasts_ in Ninjago (early Kai, Cole, Jay, Zane, and current Lloyd are all phenomenal), I think the female cast is much less distinct than it could be. Monkie Kid, on the other hand, has one of the most stacked casts imaginable with so many anime-dub actors voicing characters it would be pointless to name them all. However, even though there are no weak casting choices in this show so far, I am going to let this be a tie. Both Ninjago and Monkie Kid are great. *Music* Despite some awesome tracks from Monkie Kid, Ninjago obviously takes this. *Plot/Foreshadowing* Ninjago is rough because it seems to be in a constant state of "this is our last season," which causes a lot of confusion. Individually, most of the seasons are great, but the overarching plot leaves a lot to be desired. Some notable retcons would be Elemental Powers, Oni and Dragon, and the Serpentine War being only 40 years ago. Monkie Kid, however, is adapting from a book, and thus has the reboot advantage of already having a cast of characters that can be referenced and used without having to think too far ahead. Lady Bone Demon is an incredible multi-season antagonist, and the new arc that Season 4 started looks to be just as great. Monkie Kid takes this. It kinda hurt to say this, but Monkie Kid is already better than Ninjago _ever_ was. I have zero qualms with recommending this to someone, even a non-LEGO fan, something I can't say the same for Ninjago. Have a great day, Master Kenobi!
Honestly most people in the comments are holding quite a bit of nostalgia bias rather than seeing these from a stranger's perspective. I honestly think both products are equally as good and have their own positives and negatives.
Even though Monkie Kid's animation is vibrant and flashy, as you said, it's too much and Ninjago's current simpler sketch style rides better with me The sets you picked are unfair given despite the price, they're both completely different builds tackling different ideas but from an overall view (Even if we're looking at s1-3 Ninjago sets to be fair for the MK ones) i prefer Ninjago, same going for the figs Now for the building experience, it depends on the set, but overall both have their ups and downs so it's a tie here In the end, despite liking Monkie Kid's style, i'm gonna stay with Ninjago
I would say ninjago is for everyone and monke kid is well for kids but I like how monke kid has reference to the original monkey king(wu kung) story it is very good.
I really enjoyed this video man! Personally, I can't pick a fave between Ninjago or Monkie Kid, because they only really have a few similarities, and besides those few, they're very different. I have a whole video going in depth about this topic, but basically my thoughts are that as i said, they're pretty different, so they're hard to compare, but personally, while I adore Ninjago with all my soul, Monkie Kid is the best Origional theme to come after Ninjago. I think the build quality is insanely good, and I adore the bright colors and unique builds. I also much prefer the animation style of Monkie Kid to Ninjago, and as My Brick Opinions has said, season 3 is on another level. I highly recommend it! I definitely encourage you to get some of the bigger sets (like the Team Secret HQ, Team Van, Flower fruit mountain, City of lanters, Nezha's fire ring, etc) because those sets are on another level.
NINJAGO, I’m 11 years old and I’ve been watching since i can remember, i cant remember a time that I didn’t watch Ninjago. Plus the ninjago set feels more captivating because of all its Eclusive mini figs and it comes with the original 4 ninja.
I've loved ninjago the second I watched it. I don't care if people don't like it cause they changed the designs of the ninja. It still makes me sad that cole's voice actor died 😥 RIP Kirby Morrow
Monkie kid is better lmao. I love Ninjago, it’s my childhood but the animation in the Monkie kid show is actually insane, the figs are dope, the builds are dope and it’s just as good value as Ninjago. The big Ninjago sets like markets and gardens are obviously better than Monkie kid sets tho
i used to watch ninjao all the time as a kid but I found monkie kid early last year and I absolutely adore it and I could never compare the 2. They may appear similar but they are totally different. Go watch it if you haven't!
With the prices, Crystallized specifically has more gold pieces this season that cost more due to how much more difficult it is for lego to make gold parts than regular parts! That’s why there’s less parts in the $80 set but if it was compared to like a Core Ninjago set for example, I feel it wouldn’t be that much of a difference between the Monkie Kid Set & the Ninjago Set Prices!
While I may not know much about lego sets and such, I do know a lot of about both shows. I have watched both shows in entirety multiple times and I grew up with Ninjago. Personally, I think the writing, animation, and characterization in Monkie Kid are all much better than in Ninjago. I will never get over that one of the sub-plots in Ninjago invalidates two whole seasons -- and how one episode that is brought up multiple times in lore MAKES NO SENSE ??? Like, don't get me wrong, I love Ninjago, but C'MON ... Everytime I rewatch it I find more and more inconsistancies and it's hard not to notice... I tend to disect storylines and remember dialogue well, so when the plot doesn't stick to something It's going to effect my view of the show. [ an example of an inconsistancy in the lore would be : there's an episode in the second season where the ninja travel back in time and destroy the golden weapons from existence. Then, when they come back, Lloyd is still older and has no memory of the mega weapon. How is he still older without the mega weapon?? He never would've needed to sacrifice his childhood -- and to make matters worse, season 3s lore mentions this episode again later - so it's hard to ignore. And if you think about it, this can invalidate the ENTIRE series cause Lloyd shouldn't be his age... ] Also, I hate the new seasons. Not because of redesigns, but because the characterization changed a lot for some characters, and the stories just don't hit as well for me. It came off more childish with its humor to me and didn't take itself as seriously. While Zane, Cole, and Nya aren't terrible, Kai and Jay just... Why? They made Jay some silly "soft boy" out of nowhere? Am I the only one who feels like this??? I don't hate the character, it just doesn't feel like Jay to me. And Kai... WHAT HAPPENED TO HIM!?!? He had dumb moments but never felt like an idiot, but since season 8 that has changed... Monkie Kid, on the other hand, has fantastic writing and the characters are very well done! The animation is amazing, the humor is quite good, and the details?!??!? BRO... Season 1, in my opinion, is very important. It lets you become familar with the world and characters before jumping in to more complicated storylines (unlike Ninjago imo). World building is important, and while the first few episodes are less interesting and more silly, they're still fun episodes. Season 2 picks up the pace a bit, but is similar to season 1. While I could see wishing season 2 was more interesting, it's mostly a build up for season 3. Season 3, of course, is where the show really shines! The series isn't afraid of getting a little dark sometimes, and the fight scenes are INCREDIBLE. There is so much characterization and story hidden that you won't notice on your first watch, which makes the re-watch potential THROUGH THE ROOF! Though this kind of hurts the show since it comes off overwhelming and too fast pase for a lot of people. While I love both shows dearly, I have to give the point to Monkie Kid for having the most consistant stories and characters.
Thank you. Nearly everyone else in the comments doesn’t give their reasoning, and when they do, it’s something like “Ninjago is better Monkie Kid is a copy of it” or “Ninjago is better because I’ve been watching it since I was a kid” or even “Ninjago is better because I’ve never watched Monkie Kid”.
@@ozby11 Literally 😭 That’s why I felt so inclined to make a more thorough explanation of my personal reasonings And also because I felt like a lot of people were really just letting nostalgia completely decide their vote…
That one monkie kid character with the pink beard is the nutz... Like ninjago crystal colours like pricess frozen style but that removable bubble pink canopy lid and dragon details win it, ninjagos dragon golden zane set is unbeliievavle at £25
Maybe you should have compared more than two sets. The current Ninjago sets are more expensive than the previous ones. But I would definitely go for Ninjago. I grew up with Ninjago though. 😇
Awesome cool Ninjago video awesome video the minifigure is the crystal king in the set and I think the crystal warrior was vengestone warrior and WDYM the episodes and show were so small?
i feel like the monkie kid attracts watchers that have a short attention span or neurodivergents such as myself. everything happening all in 11 minutes really makes sure i dont get bored fast and keeps my eyes on at all times. i like spotting out little details i find while rewatching it for the 15th time. i also love the dramatic expressions and the fighting scenes theyre are absolutely amazing. as for nijago, it has a slower pace with a lot of talking at once and i get bored pretty quickly. but i personally wouldn't compare the two since ninjago is a og and deserves to be on top. thats jus me tho🤷🏽♀️
I feel like this isn’t a fair comparison due solely on the fact that one is a dragon with articulation and the other is a mostly static structure. If I were to compare the dragon of the east to any Ninjago set it would have to be Lloyd’s Legendary Dragon.
I am a really big ninjago fan but monkie kid is good as well. i think they are different as monkie kid is based in chines legends while ninjago is more original Also you should watch season 3 (ep 11-14.-czcams.com/play/PLhAAce2Aw0CI-3dy6xLK49zBd4Is3PT0l.html
Ninjago definitely wins. Especially in price. You chose an amazing monkey kid set but a Ninjago set that is just, eh. If I had the money I would've done a Ninjago city gardens vs that dragon set
Ok but can I just say the argument for the animation is honestly hilarious to me *"oh no this 2D animation is 2D animated and not like these character models from 11 years ago that look like they were animated in Gmod whatever will I do!"* Don't get me wrong I love Ninjago more than life itself but you can't compare animations that are intentionally designed to be different on a fundamental level
Both of them can exist I have absolutely no problem with that, but the issue is that monkey kid is taking all the budget to get beautiful and great sets, while Ninjago is getting mid sets because of the budget all going into monkey kid, just look at the EVO sets and the new molded dragon heads: 71774, 71760, 71782, you can't tell me it's normal while there's this 80039. Plus monkey kid is getting absolute masterpieces for the PPP or the functions, play features, design, minifigures (MK always has duo molded legs, arm printings), while Ninjago get absolutely garbage: 71771 the PPP deals for monkey kid is more than great, while Ninjago get the worse PPP deals, if you want a good deal on a ninjago set you have to get the super expensive sets ( and even then it's not great: 71774: 200$ CAD for 949 pieces ( not even a thousand) the only incredible deal for ninjago is the gardens and it's super expensive. Ninjago have been there for 12 years while monkey kid only 3 years. LEGO saw that Ninjago was a great theme, beloved by fans, so they decided to make profit and use the fans to make money, that is an absolute logic, but even if the Ninjago sets are bad lego deals fans still buy them because Ninjago fans are pushed by nostalgia, the coolness of the show the minifigures that r absolutely stunning, and the fact of getting the sets that they saw in the show (unfortunately some minifigures are not that detailed compared to monkey kid) In the end I think that lego should split the budget in half for the two like shonen themes because Ninjago deserves more for being there for 12 years. But I think that ninjago is far more better
If you would have watched season 3 you would have known who The Dragon of the East is :D but anyways I have watched Ninjago since i was young so ill give it to Ninjago.
There are sooo many different metrics to take into account as big ninjago fans its hard not to have a sentimental attachment to the series and the characters, i have built a huge ninjago city moc with gardens and original city incorporated into them, ive also incorporated the monkie kid city of lanterns in the moc and flower fruit mountain and they look incredible all mixed together, i think monkie kid is just as good as ninjago, we just dont have the same sentimental attachment to it as we do with ninjago, wish i could show you guys my ninjago/monkie kid city its built on 6 base plates and growing
I’ve been to LEGO stores and they don’t have any of the Monkie kid sets. Also there is nowhere to watch Monkie kid except for Amazon prime which only has season 1. Is there a reason LEGO doesn’t like Monkie kid that much?
Ya I’ll admit LEGO LMK needs better marketing! But I’ve seen all three seasons in English and they were well worth it!:D If I had to take a guess it’s just not Marketed In places that aren’t related to China. It is meant for that audience, have a wonderful day
I think Monkie Kid is new and Ninjago has done it all already, so we gonna need something really new for Ninjago to really get some awesome sets like Monkie Kid.
With the price to peice ratio you also need to count the size of the pieces since the ninjago set had so many large pieces while the monkie kid set had so many little ones
Bro, why did you compare one of the worst Ninjago sets of the wave to a goddamn dragon? That’s just unfair. You could’ve compared it to the water dragon and The Temple of the Endless Sea, which are both $80! (While supplies last.)
Bro brick legends, Monkie kid season 3 is (controversial opinion) better than any season of ninjago, it’s just awesome, and pro tip: learning about the original journey to the west book will make Monkie kid a lot more enjoyable
You can't compare these two series in general. Ninjago has been running for 11 years, Monkie Kid only since 2020, so people are naturally tuned in to Ninjago. Monkie Kid is based on a 500-year-old Chinese story that every Chinese child knows. Accordingly, you can find the characters like the Dragon of the East (who, by the way, appears in the third season) in the stories. Ninjago was invented freely, so Lego doesn't have to stick to any references. And BTW: I would be happy, if I get a minifigure from Lego (in other words ... an original) with a half painted crown, because it makes it a rarity. And if you send pictures of the figure to Lego you'll get a free replacement part. In that case you shoul add a extra point to MK.
if you are an og there is no way you dont choose ninjago i have spent more than 2000 hours of my life playing watching or buliding ninjago and they were some of the best hours
I used to be a Ninjago fan (10 years of Ninjago being my favorite show!), but that third season of Monkie Kid really went hard and it made the whole show capture my heart. So, for short, I chose Monkie Kid
Personally it’s almost a tie! Ninjago has gone on for 11 years and mostly it’s all good! Monkey kid had gone on for 3 years and each one is great! Both have sets that are amazing!!!:D As for story Ninjago wins easily for me! For characters I have to go with monkey kid! And for Animation also have to go with monke kid! Ninjago s8-9-10 had amazing and beautiful animation but if I’m excluding that then Monkie kid wins. I’ve seen every season for both Ninjago and monkey kid and I love them both! But honestly I think I have to give the win toooooo Ninjago but just Barley! But of course this is my opinion and y’all free to have your own!:) love the videos man! Have a great day
I think the Monkie Kid show is awesome! I ended up buying a lot of the sets because of it. The Ninjago show doesn't interest me at all (MK looks way better in my opinion) and the only Ninjago set I have is City Gardens. I am more familiar with Chinese culture than Japanese tho, so that probably influences my preference a lot.
Ninjago is better because the temple a very nice display build and the monkey kid set just looks like a ripoff jungle dragon. I do like the side builds for the monkey kid set but since there are less figures it wouldn't look as good on display as the ninjago one would
Monkie kid Season 3 and 4 are just really good. It steps up in my opinion and just is really good. It handles MK’s identity a little (not like lgbtq, but who/what he is). You would know the Dragon of the East if you watch season 3. It really gets better. I have watched both shows and both are good.
Not a huge fan of either shows unlike many here but i think ninjago is better made me watch more seasons (while putting together sets). But sets I prefer monkie kid they are just so crazy and creative. I do prefer locations not so into mechs and dragons so again not typical fan of these lines. Ninjago city line is amazing esp w all the water but somehow city of lanterns is my fave the monorail edges it up; Flower fruit mountain is also a standout. Another similar comp is keepers village vs monkie kid jungle hideout - mk is larger and more immersive somehow tho keepers village also has nice details and prob better figures in these particular sets. Also compare the underwater palaces, monkie kid wins.
I think they should coexist, they're both awesome themes! And let's face it here, if Ninjago ever did fall off the line, I think, at least for now, Monkie Kid would be the best theme to take up the mantle. Both are really good!
Ninjago only has better sets and mini figs cuz it’s been around for wayyyy longer than Monkie kid, but tbh, Monkie kid is way better. Better sets, amazing prices, playability is off the charts, a very good show (mainly season 3, so that section was kinda rigged cuz season 3 is amazing lol), and just a very cool world, I prefer Monkie kid even though ninjago was part of my childhood. It’s just better imo
I just watched Monkie Kid Season 3-4 and WOW, pure cinema 🎦
Yes I know
out of curiosity would you still rank ninjago’s animation over monkie kid after finishing monkie kid? I honestly think season 3-4 do a great job at representing the show since 1 and 2 are a bit slow. I personally rank it better than ninjago
Where can I watch monkie kid
@@Turbozip_2 seasons 1 and 2 are on amazon prime but theres alot of drives floating around with all of the episodes since its a bit hard to watch in the US

Okay well I think Ninjago deserved to win here, but you’re comparing a mid ninjago set to an amazing monkie kid set. It isn’t a fair comparison to compare two massive themes based off of a singular set.
Oh yeah, bu the way monkie kid copies a lot of ninjago sets
Both are great themes with great designs…Ninjago has been running for 15 seasons with more to be release in the future, it’s possible some fans are burnt out by the designs for now and that’s ok. Just like the other long running themes like SW and HP, there are good set waves and bad set waves. Both themes have their purposes and can co-exist imo.
maybe he likes the set
IKR, he could’ve compared it to the water dragon or Lloyd’s legendary dragon.
I think Ninjago did win
Plz tell me if you bought any sets
the van is great. its the third team HQ set and theyre all really cool sets.
I completely agree Ace. It's also not really fair to compare the entirety of both theme's since ninjago has been around for wayyyy longer

As someone who's barely a quarter through JTTW i can confirm that being a monkie kid fan makes you a peak literary/cultural analyst /j
how dare you !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! you like 1+1 thats all they say
Other than that, I enjoyed the vid a lot.
ikr
yea, i bought ninjago city gardens for 240 euros, whitch is about 4cents per piece, whitch is just awesone, and monkey kid is just like fallen shard of ninjago
Cool i Iik it
I agree with you on that statement!
You are crazily good at building with such a creative mind. Keep up the good work!!!!!
My personal opinion:
Price: Overall, I think Monkie Kid has the best Price per Piece ratio, and even price per "stuff" ratio (according to Jangbricks).

@@muffin8460 Why not? Plus I do have 23 out of the 46 different Zane figures & like 15 Jay figures as well. I will say it’s a pretty close competition. Monkey kid because monkey has great printing and great buildings
Same ninjago
Ninjago
Ninjago
I watch both but in my opinion both are great shows and I like them both for the cast and storys
Bur you know what theme stomps above them two... Star Wars
@@KenobiandDookuSoloTheSequels what does starwars have to do with monkie kid vs ninjago
As a 10-year Ninjago fan and long-time supporter of that show, I have to admit that Monkie Kid is LEAGUES better, at least in the show.
*Animation*
You mention that Ninjago has some great 3D animation, and it does.
*Characterization*
Now, Ninjago has had some of my favourite characters ever, but it was designed to last three years. They've been able to stretch it for quite a while before the cracks started to show, but it's clear by now that there is no way anyone has a plan for how the Ninja are supposed to develop or even do the bare minimum of _not regress._
Meanwhile Monkie Kid has some of the most long-term plans for its characters I've ever seen. There's easily another six seasons of character development that can happen for MK, Mei, Tang, Pigsy, Sandy, Sun Wukong, Macaque, and many more without any regression or relearning mistakes.
Monkie Kid takes this once again.
*Voice Acting*
Ninjago has the both blessing and curse of being animated in Canada, which basically only gives them access to the Vancouver VAs.
*Music*
Despite some awesome tracks from Monkie Kid, Ninjago obviously takes this.
*Plot/Foreshadowing*
Ninjago is rough because it seems to be in a constant state of "this is our last season," which causes a lot of confusion.
Even though Monkie Kid's animation is vibrant and flashy, as you said, it's too much and Ninjago's current simpler sketch style rides better with me
The sets you picked are unfair given despite the price, they're both completely different builds tackling different ideas but from an overall view (Even if we're looking at s1-3 Ninjago sets to be fair for the MK ones) i prefer Ninjago, same going for the figs
Now for the building experience, it depends on the set, but overall both have their ups and downs so it's a tie here
In the end, despite liking Monkie Kid's style, i'm gonna stay with Ninjago
I would say ninjago is for everyone and monke kid is well for kids but I like how monke kid has reference to the original monkey king(wu kung) story it is very good.
Nah I’d say they are both for everyone (monkie kid has some pretty dark topics)
I love your videos

Tbh true
i used to watch ninjao all the time as a kid but I found monkie kid early last year and I absolutely adore it and I could never compare the 2.
Monkie Kidn also has the benefit of the background source of Journey to the West.
Also, I hate the new seasons.
Agree with this comment a lot!! Hope it gets more attention ^^

*"oh no this 2D animation is 2D animated and not like these character models from 11 years ago that look like they were animated in Gmod whatever will I do!"*
Don't get me wrong I love Ninjago more than life itself but you can't compare animations that are intentionally designed to be different on a fundamental level
Monkey king is actually a real legend
I think all of us can agree they are all expensive
Honestly it’s sort of unfair to compare 3 seasons to an 11 season show so yeah.
Welp, it's now 4 seasons and three specials to 15 seasons, three specials, multiple canon comic books, and a canon voice-acted stage play.
LEGO saw that Ninjago was a great theme, beloved by fans, so they decided to make profit and use the fans to make money, that is an absolute logic, but even if the Ninjago sets are bad lego deals fans still buy them because Ninjago fans are pushed by nostalgia, the coolness of the show the minifigures that r absolutely stunning, and the fact of getting the sets that they saw in the show (unfortunately some minifigures are not that detailed compared to monkey kid)
In the end I think that lego should split the budget in half for the two like shonen themes because Ninjago deserves more for being there for 12 years. But I think that ninjago is far more better
I give the ultimate point for Ninjago because i love the series and movies the Ninjago
Ninjago is better!

Bro, why did you compare one of the worst Ninjago sets of the wave to a goddamn dragon? That’s just unfair. You could’ve compared it to the water dragon and The Temple of the Endless Sea, which are both $80! (While supplies last.)
Did you buy any of his instructions?
@@militaryscotlandgreece398 No, I don’t have the pieces for the MOCs he makes.
Bro brick legends, Monkie kid season 3 is (controversial opinion) better than any season of ninjago, it’s just awesome, and pro tip: learning about the original journey to the west book will make Monkie kid a lot more enjoyable
I think that there's lots to love about Monkie Kid but come on, Ninjago is the OG it wins almost every time
It doesn’t matter who’s the best there both great 👍
no ninjago is cool and good
@@betsygutierrez1249 ok than but who are you
Ninjago on top
Yea
Can you make the quake mech?
I’d say Ninjago is better compared to Monkey Kid.
A lot got a dragon of the East with a half painted crown
no
Both theme have a special place in my heart tho
When I saw that ninjago set I got it on amazon!🤣
When do your Cloud kingdom moc Video come ?
I’m editing it as I speak😂😂😂
@@bricklegends 😂😂😂
if you are an og there is no way you dont choose ninjago i have spent more than 2000 hours of my life playing watching or buliding ninjago and they were some of the best hours
I am an og, and I chose Monkie Kid
@@ozby11 your opinion i didn't say you can't choose monkey kid this was just my opinion
@@svain9013 “there is no way you don’t choose ninjago”
I used to be a Ninjago fan (10 years of Ninjago being my favorite show!), but that third season of Monkie Kid really went hard and it made the whole show capture my heart. So, for short, I chose Monkie Kid
Og here, monkie kid gets my vote
Personally it’s almost a tie! Ninjago has gone on for 11 years and mostly it’s all good! Monkey kid had gone on for 3 years and each one is great! Both have sets that are amazing!!!:D
As for story Ninjago wins easily for me!
But honestly I think I have to give the win toooooo
Ninjago but just Barley! But of course this is my opinion and y’all free to have your own!:) love the videos man! Have a great day
hey could you make a wojira MOC
Can you plis build zane mech from season 5 moc secend not frst mech
Ninjago rocks
Yes yes😊
I think the Monkie Kid show is awesome! I ended up buying a lot of the sets because of it. The Ninjago show doesn't interest me at all (MK looks way better in my opinion) and the only Ninjago set I have is City Gardens. I am more familiar with Chinese culture than Japanese tho, so that probably influences my preference a lot.
Hey brick legends can you build a pyro pyramid moc I’m a huge fan
can you do a ucs monastery of spinjitzu please
It would be fairer to compare sets in the same style by example two vehicle or two structure from both sides costing about the same price
Ninjago is better because the temple a very nice display build and the monkey kid set just looks like a ripoff jungle dragon. I do like the side builds for the monkey kid set but since there are less figures it wouldn't look as good on display as the ninjago one would
The moniker kid dragon doesn’t look like the jungle dragon
@@tri3244 the colors are basically the same
That doesn’t make it look like the jungle dragon that much
@@tri3244 they’re dragons with the same color and the eyes kinda look the same
Monkie kid Season 3 and 4 are just really good.
Ninjago is way better. No comparison at all
And why no comparison?
@@ozby11 Because nostalgia
I will take Ninjago any day over monkey Kid🤑
Nijago is better mainly but the sets that you got I would choose monkey kid.
I find it kind of interesting that really ninjago winning really just came down to the show.
NINJAGOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO 1000000000000000000000%
I think they should coexist, they're both awesome themes! And let's face it here, if Ninjago ever did fall off the line, I think, at least for now, Monkie Kid would be the best theme to take up the mantle. Both are really good!
Jump back kick back whip around and spin Ninjago come on come on again
i grew up with Ninjago i can't betray My childhood! 💖
Day two of asking brick legends to make jamanakai village pls
Ninjago only has better sets and mini figs cuz it’s been around for wayyyy longer than Monkie kid, but tbh, Monkie kid is way better. Better sets, amazing prices, playability is off the charts, a very good show (mainly season 3, so that section was kinda rigged cuz season 3 is amazing lol), and just a very cool world, I prefer Monkie kid even though ninjago was part of my childhood. It’s just better imo
Ninjago has more hard to make pieces, transparent pieces, such as the crystals are expensive to make
