It's crazy to think how polite, well mannered and quiet JPJ is. He's not even in the spotlight here and he's legendary.

John Paul Jones is so cute! He seems so humble and fits right in with those guys.

Damn JPJ looks so good for his age. What an incredible group. I was so lucky to see them live in Atlanta back in 2010.
Me too Jim, that was a fantastic night, I think the CD was around 65 minutes long and they played for 2 hours that night at the Tabernacle off of that one album and they only played one extra song, I had taken the next day off ahead of time which was kind of cool because it started snowing the next day and I was still on cloud nine from the night before.
You can really tell Jonesy is enjoying himslef with the younger musicians. I'm sure it's really adding 10 years to his life if they're no drugs involved

Step 1 - Dave Grohl, one of the greatest drummers and songwriters ever
Step 2 - Josh Homme - The modern Elvis
Step 3 - John Paul Jones - A great bassist from the greatest classic rock band of all time, Led Zeppelin.
Dave is NOT one of the greatest songwriters. Josh Jomme is actually a much better songwriter. Even John Paul Jones has written better songs. Dave is only a great drummer.
@@smkxodnwbwkdns8369 thats harsh. Dave is a fantasic songwriter. The "greatest" is a bit of hyperbole but to say he isnt good is ignorant imo. All 3 are extremely multi-talented musicians.
@@samod7550 all of his songs were tailor made for pop radio consumption. They are all melancholic pop rock ballads without any depth. He’s a competent songwriter I’d say but I would never intentionally listen to the foo fighters .

JPJ doesnt look that old in comparisson to Jimmy or Robert. Hes aged well, although out of the whole group in Zeppelin he was probably the most sober.
Idk about that,JPJ did more drugs and alcohol after zeppelin, it’s genes more than anything
the best supergroup of 2009 and were of course amazing in concert

Officer Tacos They entered the studio once the tour was over apparently. However seems JPJ is the reason they are no longer considering it. Homme sold the TCV tour cases months ago.

@reawakegh i'd say there's not a hint of foo fighters in tcv but quotsa yes. with a slice of zeppelin. but this was their first record! i truly liket this one, and am hoping that the next record would be more of what tcv really is and that it would have something new. :)

The last 10 years have flown by. Anyway I recently started listening to the work Jones did with Led Zeppelin and trying to assimilate some of it into my own bass playing. I gotta say he's a very creative and damn funky bassist. A lot of James Jamerson in his playing. I suspect he listens to some Stax and Motown records

Dave's best work is as a drummer. In my opinion FF is meh.
That Josh actually thinks TCV is "Avant Garde" rock music is telling at just how mainstream rock music has become these days - there's nothing remotely Avant Garde about QOTSA or TCV ... try early Birthday Party or PIL for that and work your way backwards. What they do is middle of the road rock n roll by any standards of the past - they're, dare I say it, pop rock ... and not much else.
