      We really enjoy our G. Unfortunately Winnebago stopped making them in 2019. Thanks for watching.

    Great ideas thanks for sharing. I replaced the drawer slides with home Depot cushion close. I've never had an issue with them opening ever since.

    Such a great lesson for us, we just bought a 2018 View 24G that looks just like yours so we will be borrowing several of these ideas. Hope you are still enjoying your travels, and thanks so much for sharing!

    Really nice mods and customization. I especially like the glasses holder and the cup storage holder between the seat.

    Greetings, so happy I came across your channel! I too have the water leak from over the bunk! Can u plz share the syringe (size) and sealant you used? I am going to try to do the same? Also is there a way to get inside the bunk area to make sure all the water is out?

    • @MilesAcrossUSA
      @MilesAcrossUSA  Před 4 měsíci

      We are so glad you found us and hope you enjoy our videos. Although I have heard about the water leaks over the bunk, we have not experienced that problem. Perhaps you viewed the fix on another channel. Another great source is the View/Navion Motorhome Facebook group. If there is a problem with your View or Navion, it has been discussed there and you will most likely find a solution there as well. We hope you find a solution and safe travels.

    Excellent set of modifications! Might give the face cloth holder a try and even though our RV has some USB ports, as they say more is better so I’ll probably add some additional ones. And also a power strip near the dining room table. Thanks for the inspiration 😉

      I am not positive where we got the mirror. I searched my Amazon orders and it wasn't from Amazon. If I had to guess, I would say we got it from Lowes, Home Depot or Walmart. It is 24 inches high by 16 inches wide. I do see that Amazon does carry various sizes of acrylic mirrors. Thanks for watching and subscribing.

    I'm curious what the cargo carrying capacity is and if you are able to carry all your stuff and not be over weight. I looked at a 24D the other day and the CCC was only 980 pounds. A full tank of fresh water weighs 250 pounds, and then you add the passengers, cloths, food and dishes etc, and it seems to me you would be over weight pretty fast.

    • @MilesAcrossUSA
      @MilesAcrossUSA  Před rokem +1

      It is a struggle. Our OCCC is just under 1100 lbs for our View model G. We travel with minimal supplies and cloths. A couple pairs of shorts and t-shirts is what we usually need for cloths. All of our storage compartments are nowhere near capacity volume wise. If we were to fill every space we would certainly be grossly overweight. We always travel with empty black and grey tanks and only put about 5 to 10 gallons of fresh water in our fresh water tank to get us to our next destination on travel days. We usually only travel under 3 - 4 hours between campgrounds. We also go to the grocery store after we get to our destination or just before arriving so that we are not carrying all that weight for long distances.

    Excellent video & thank you for sharing. Do you remember what type of glue or epoxy you used for the dinning table mod and has it held up?

    • @MilesAcrossUSA
      @MilesAcrossUSA  Před rokem +2

      We used JB Weld two part epoxy. It has held up perfectly.

    Hey George, what are your dimensions on the hassock?

    • @MilesAcrossUSA
      @MilesAcrossUSA  Před rokem +1

      15”x21”x11” That’s width x length x height.

  • @volofly2011

    Hey George and Louise, found your channel when researching the Winnebago View / Navion and like what you've done with yours. We are recently retired and are thinking of getting our first RV to allow us to take your own space along when we travel to see family and friends and to camp in. We are considering a new 24V and you G seems similar for space. Plan to use some of your ideas 😉.
    Just wondering if you've considered adding a countertop extension? The V has limited countertop space like your G. Also, we might want more freezer space as my wife, Lisa, has some special dietary needs that might require more, so are considering putting a small 12volt DC portable unit somewhere. Have you found any issues with freezer space in the fridge?

    • @MilesAcrossUSA
      @MilesAcrossUSA  Před 2 lety +3

      Hi! As you may know, we are traveling full time in our view. We do not have a home. We moved from a 3500 square foot home into our View. We have found a storage place for everything we need. (With some modifications). We have found the freezer/fridge and under the dinette seats to be plenty big enough to store 7-10 days worth of meals for the two of us. We are planners and keep an important list of stored meals. We have figured out what works for our eating protocol. We have not added countertop extensions. We cook a great deal outside on our Blackstone. When we do, I prep inside while George cooks outside. When I cook in our instant pot inside, I use the sink covers for more surface space and put the instant pot on the dinette table. When we use the stove top or convection oven, I use the dinette surface for the prep. I hope this helps.

      @@MilesAcrossUSA It does help, thanks. Do you find the convection microwave oven works well for baking or not so much? We like to bake veggies pretty often. Spray with olive oil then season. Also, we use the oven at home for heating frozen dinners, that's why we'd like extra freezer space. And take and bake pizza is a favorite besides the occasional cassrole dish. Can those kinds of dishes be cooked in the convection microwave oven?

    • @MilesAcrossUSA
      @MilesAcrossUSA  Před 2 lety +2

      We use it for baking occasionally. Contrary to what most claim to be faster cooking due to the convection fan, we find it takes longer than most recipes call for. It does work. Just don’t set your expectations to that of the level of a home model. We have cooked many cauliflower pizzas in it. We also cook them on the Blackstone griddle with some success. We like roasting potatoes in it for hash browns for breakfast but we have had equal success with the griddle as well. Make sure you raise the cooking dish up off the rotating disk for best results.
