I always like seeing people react to Ferris Bueller because it's one of my favorite 80's movies! Plus they can get the sheer number of call backs in popular media, particularly in the Deadpool end credits, which heavily references the end credit scene on this movie (There was a scene after the bus scene, it wasn't included in the reaction so I hope you didn't miss it!) ♥
@@theguywiththemicrophone6505 During his youth, Ferris, War Games and Ladyhawke were his biggest. Ladyhawke is “different” though. Romance action/adventure medieval/fantasy.
American students finish high school at 17 or 18 and then go to university. College and university are interchangeable in the US vernacular. There really isn't an equivalent of UK college. Pretty much everyone in this movie is "most famous" from this movie, with the exceptions of Charlie Sheen and the sister. Speaking of Jennifer Grey, next stop on the 80s movies to watch when you're sick should be Dirty Dancing.
Good movie. Can’t really relate, my days off consisted of ordering delivery pizza and watching The Price Is Right. Comedy Central had a game show called Win Ben Stein’s Money. It was like jeopardy but you competed against Ben Stein (the bueller….Bueller…. Bueller guy). It was the more enjoyable of 90s game shows
Not TOO much like Jeopardy though. Responding in the form of a question meant that you had to wear the dunce cap. 😁 Also, Ben's original co-host was Jimmy Kimmel, who has since gone on to host a successful late night talk show.
Did you watch it all the way to the end of the credits? There was a little easter egg at the end...in an era when end-of-credits codas weren't really being done yet.
@@theguywiththemicrophone6505 That's fair - there's not much to it. But it was novel at the time. Post-credit scenes were.....well, if not unheard of, at least extremely rare. And he broke the fourth wall into the deal so we certainly got a kick out of it. lol.
The actors who played Ferris' parents began a relationship as a result of working on this movie and eventually got married in real life. Ben Stein (the teacher who was in The Mask) and Ferris' dad were also in Planes, Trains, & Automobiles. Mia Sara, the actress who played Sloane, was the first live action actor to play Harley Quinn (technically Dr. Quinnzell) in the short lived CW series Birds Of Prey. Alan Ruck who played Cameron also played Captain Harriman in Star Trek: Generations. Harriman had the impossible to fill shoes of being the first Captain of a Starship Enterprise after James T. Kirk. There's a popular fan theory that either Cameron was a figment of Ferris' imagination or Ferris a figment of Cameron's. I think the latter way works out best. Cameron imagines the entire day off with his imaginary friend Ferris who is the most popular kid in school where he is a nobody, is dating the girl Cameron secretly has a crush on, he gets to torture the principal that he hates, Jean is actually Cameron's sister and her parents' favorite (especially their father's) but gets to see how the other side feels in Cameron's imagination, and Ferris has perfect parents where Cameron's relationship with his aren't great. So all the silly stuff happened in Cameron's head and and only the relationship with his father was real. He daydreamed his perfect day that ended with his father's beloved car destroyed. Depressing but interesting theory. Best Regards!
I think with younger people these days everything is so serious on tv and movies, and when its not isnt isnt as silly unless you are talking idiotic prank stuff on youtube or jackass, there isnt comedies made like this anymore and when it is done its really rare, back then we had comedies coming out every week in the theater.
This movie is a classic I love it... You mentioned Ben Stiller you should watch The secret Life of Walter Mitty not the old one but the new one with Ben Stiller..
I always thought The Cable Guy was an underrated/under appreciated film. I think it was just a little darker that people were expecting from Jim Carrey at that time.
He has a baby face meaning Matt so it probably fit in in that way and they always have 20 to 30 year olds play 16 17 year olds I know you know that isn’t a surprise haha so ..
@@theguywiththemicrophone6505 YASSSSS!!! I think you’ll be surprised by it. Original and weird. It’s got that dark humor brand. Ok I won’t say any more. No spoilers!
1. Alan Ruck/Cameron was 29 when filming. 2. Charlie Sheen didn't sleep for 48 hours prior to his scene. 3. It's unfair the clueless people like his parents make so much money. Especially his dad. 4. Grace the secretary pretending to be Ed Rooney during the phone call from Cameron was improvised. 5. Not pealing out in front of Rooney would have stopped him from going after Ferris. 6. Odds are if someone has a doggie door they have a dog. 7. This was John Hughes' ode to his hometown of Chicago. (RIP) John Hughes. 8. The school is the same one used in "The Breakfast Club" and "Uncle Buck". 9. I would NOT be Ferris' "friend" because he wouldn't walk all over me like he does Cam 10. Check him out with my future ex-wife Ally Sheedy in "War Games". For an 80's good time movie to first time/share pleas do "Fast Times at Ridgemont High".

The song that plays is Oh Yeah by Yello.
Such a good song ahaha
Ladyhawke featuring Broderick at the same time as this is a great one.
I'll look into it, haven't seen that many Broderick movies.

@@Bothorth Definitely. And the director/producers and soundtrack.
Cool ! Now I got somethin to watch tonight. Haha. Hope you enjoy. Def a classic!
Thank you! Much appreciated :)
War Games and Biloxi Blues are 2 more Broderick films to see. But he was much more prolific as an actor on Broadway.

Thanks for the trivia and a very interesting theory!! Thats brilliant that those two actors began a relationship afterwards.

Exactly, I like the blend of comedy and the dark creepy tone by having Carrey be a weird stalker. Its a fun watch!
Great reaction. Great movie, I hope you can do a reaction to a Mel Brooks movie like Blazing Saddles that would be so much fun.

have u watched I still know what you did last summer?
I've never watched the sequel, is it one of those rare instances that surpasses the original?
@@theguywiththemicrophone6505 I would say yes but that's my opinion but to each of their own opinions 🥴😚😟
I was never a huge fan of this one. Always had a stronger connection to Breakfast Club and Natinal Lampoon. Home Alone was only written by John Hughes
I keep thinking that Hughes directed Home Alone aha
