Throttles or wire cutters. ZK only knows full send. But credit where credit is due, it was his idea to switch the signals to figure out if one coil was bad.

my small diameter vacuum lines on my z31 kept cracking on the ends too, I ended up finding windshield washer hose that was the same diameter to replace it all with. Its all metric hose and the smallest diameter ones on z31 is 3mm

Great video! It's feels good to make positive progress. And thank you for painting that charge pipe a reasonable color.

We get the rare ZK sighting. I thought he would have been too tired from putting on a roof.

I tip my hat at you for keeping on keeping on with this car. Respect. I remember when these were the new hotness...well luke warmness tbf, and love that you're trying to make what it's got work as it's supposed to do. It's nice hearing it drive somewhat acceptable. There's hope :)

The red spark plug wires look better, but the blue is not that bad.

The blue isn't so bad now that the weird red charge pipe is gone

They really just nested that sucker in there. It's like they thought in the '80s that warming the inlet charge was beneficial lol.

I dont remember seeing the HF spark checker being used. It could be that the distributor isnt sending power to the intake side, I get spark on I3 and I4 but no spark on I1 and intermittent on I2. Just like you, all 4 exhast plugs work so it drives fine under low load. Ill be cheking the distributor and coils this weekend and Ill be using some of your diagnosis procedures so thanks!

We didn't get it in video, but when Zk was around. We ended up using the intake side of the distributor fired from the exhaust coil and it seemed to work normally. There's definitely still some diagnosis to be done there. Waiting on the new coil and will continue on from there.
