The chicken will last at least two days rather you can use that trick and it will last you like a week until the fish eat all of it but at that point you have plenty of fish to last you longer than that chicken so it’s worth it

How is that wasting chicken? If you're gonna cook and eat fish that came out of that lake, why wouldn't you cook the chicken that sat in that lake too? Wouldn't cooking it kill any bacteria or whatever you guys are thinking ruined the chicken?

I am SO confused & conflicted with this short video. These are "outdoor hacks"??? So, out in the woods stranded, having to hunt & trap & fish & shelter in & keep dry & warm. You're telling me that he has an entire, whole chicken JUST to feed to really small fish??? (Oh, and I guess chickens just run around in the wild across the country?) And the "fire wood bacpack", he's trying to survive, he has EVERYTHING he needs including nylon rope & a brand new unused hatchet? Even the way he's building things seems so impractical & useless. I Really HATE this video
I think this is applying more to bushcrafting. I know that the use of a chicken was silly in this video but the tecknuiqe was still alright provided you have a fishing hook.

Незнай, незнай. На такую курицу можно тонну дрыщей поймать. А эта штука с палками, скорее всего приспособа для переноса большого груза, внизу как будто дрова, это опора для переносимого груза

My first thoughts were the same, like many others. BUT! I think, that only few pieces of chicken is "wasted". Chicken is safe in a could water and you may grill it later)) So, he just doubled his chicken with fish for second meal, very clever ;) Just don't know the reason to remove the skin... I think, that it's tastiest part of grilled chiken.
Somehow based on these “hacks” and the way they are dressed (look at his boots 😂😂); I don’t think they camp very much at all

I have a great camping trick
- I take (2) 1" thick ribeyes put them in the soil
- worms come to them
- catch the worm
- use them to fish with
- but its Catch&Releade Rules where I live
- so I cook and eat the chicken I brought!!!

If the chicken bait yielded a blue fin tuna, if would been a pretty good trade off. But lookin just how it only got catfishes, I think I would have just roasted the chicken and enjoyed it myself. 😁

For this hack to be done properly you should be deboning the chicken keeping the majority of the meat and using the leftover meat and bones as a bait not wasting all that good meat 🤣 crazy The backpack thing maybe useful if you didn't bring something with you when you went on to the woods.

What’s happening is he’s using the big chicken for the fish to come find and the chicken bits for the fish to bite and once a bunch of fish bites the chicken bits, you have more food than when you started

It's done on purpose to get people interacting with the video so the algorithm bumps the video.
Why did you put an entire chicken into the jug, and then into the water? You already had chicken on the hooks. The fish should had still hit on that. You also could have used the gizzards on the hooks to add scent for the fish.
Cook the chicken and use the guts for bait.
2 things, either the video could be meant to test common sense which is a camping hack in of itself with the whole chicken trade off for lesser amount of fish & using wood that would already serve the fire source purpose made a backpack to get more wood or its a great example how individual this process can be & really about taking ideas and tailoring them to each person's individual goals for a camping experience...

You can also lay the sticks across the string and form a slip knot and drag the string. Its what I usually do when gathering a bunch of sticks for fire
