    Surprised to see all the negative comments on this demo! I had a friend who got to see a demo in Austin early 2023 before the Kickstarter even launched and this is a ton of progress since. The heat up time could be done in conjunction to the puck prep, and all in all looks to be comparable to my workflow on a Gaggia Classic or even a Flair58! Proud to say I am Backer 1 and have no plans on pulling out of the KickStarter!

    Awesome machine. Did they have the milk steamer or at mentioned when is it coming out?

    Interesting, I thought there was a little ring type seal to ensure a faster heat up time, but the chamber was just left wide open. Wonder if they ditched that or it was just forgotten about. Also very keen to know how it tasted.

    That seemed to have taken forever. Even with the jump cut. Purge function should be a dedicated button not driving through menus because it’s something that needs to be done every time

      Yeah. They didn't use the chamber cover either. That boosts heating speed as well.

      @@ericanderson1753 the workflow. looks like it takes way too long for what I need in the morning. If I’m looking to use already boiling water I’d just use a flair 58. It’s also pretty delicate looking and not a “workhorse” so to speak, but that’s just an impression from the video, I obviously haven’t used it

    • @ericanderson1753
      @ericanderson1753 Před 2 měsíci

      @@adamp6862 two things. 1) I don’t think any discerning person has ever looked at the Meticulous and believed it would be a “workhorse.” 2) There will be (and already is on other demo units) a disc that descends about the cylinder to trap in heat and drastically reduce heat-up time. Not sure why it’s not here, but you can expect it on the production unit.

    • @RasenRambo23
      @RasenRambo23 Před 2 měsíci

      @@ericanderson1753 From my side, I can articulate it a bit better after seeing the Argos Odyssey - not having to use a kettle, not having to use a tiny built in screen, being able to switch between spring and direct lever shots, being able to use a direct pressure gauge or a BT one. There's more mechanical involvement and tactility with the Argos which is something I prefer. Then there's obviously milk steaming. To me, the Argos, Kafismo, and Decent are all superior products and I don't know what would unique selling point the Meticulous would have over them. But everyone's different. You can see, it's quite a complicated field to discuss. I'm happy about the movement in this space. Best of luck to Meticulous, I'll be watching them.

      The whole point is to outsource the heating element like a manual lever machine. Just get a $20 kettle and pre heat the water and you wouldn't have to wait as long or waste heating too much water. This machine does away with a boiler and all the problems that come with it, of course there will be some downsides.

      @@Drift-yf4rn I got Pro 600. What I mean was about the water pouring per shot and the water temp waiting time per shot. As if the regular machine with puck prep & distribution isn't tedious enough. Just my opinion and preference. Plus that demo looks sloppy as heck, could've done more effort at selling the product.

    • @Drift-yf4rn
      @Drift-yf4rn Před 2 měsíci +2

      @@themodularmodular ahhh I see, yeah demo wasn't great. I don't see the water as being much different though. With a pro 600 you still have a tank to fill, and heat up time on an e61 like that it's about 20 min, vs 3min for this, so personally I see it as a quicker workflow. Plus, with an e61 especially you have to worry about scale, while with the Met I can just fill from the tap
