    Place a spot on the map, who knows we might actually drop by:

    We leave Lithuania because we couldn't extend our room and once in Latvia it also impossible to book or find a room. Once we cross the Lithuanian Latvian border neither in Liepaja and Ventspils, almost the whole country except for extremely overpriced rooms. It's because of the Latvian holiday Jani or Jonines in Lithuania. Everyone flocks to the coast for the long weekend. As we keep trying to find a place a stroke of luck as we get forwarded to a place in the bush that is not on the online booking system. Jani festival is serious business on the Baltic sea.

    Love it how your lovely lady evolved since the beginning of your trip. At first she was very shy, not wanting to appear in front of your camera. Now she's as entertaining as you are ! You two look great on that Honda. Even more doing off road riding ! Keep on riding and pleasing us with your stories ans videos.

    The effect with the seeping clay edge is pretty easy to explain: Clay is impenetrable for water. As water sinks through the top soil layer it collects on the clay and percolates through to that edge where it comes out. A natural sealing layer. No rot, other tan with plastic or bitumen seals like those that are put under basements.

    • @iPedroMota
      @iPedroMota  Před rokem +3

      Cool, functions like a sort of massive water collector. What you say about clay reminds me of when they find still semi intact Viking ships.

      @@iPedroMota oddly enough, these are usually found in permanently wet surroundings, where there is no oxygen available for microbes which could break down the fibres of the wood, so there's be a good chance for them surviving over such a layer of clay.

      Man the busy days I was confident in my offline room finding abilities were brutal, not able to find a place for the night. This happened again. Things have changed compared to 10 years ago, almost all places are online now and will be found. Less chance of finding that obscure vacant little place.

      @@iPedroMota Yeah, pretty much. Also the "cottage" you landed probably wasn't on booking or air because that was theyr private "sauna house" - they use it for going to sauna, having parties etc... Might be on some local sites for rent, but maily for their own use. So probably the owners of the previous place you tried did you a huge favor. :)

    It's crazy how nobody else is in the beach, where are all the people? Atlas looks good, my Aprilia RSV just got stolen, 2 guys lifted it onto a van, less than one minute and it was gone. Police say they can not get it for me unless it's in "plain sight", I have a tracker, it's inside a house. Very dangerous, the police are wearing bulletproof vests. Thanks for the vids, regards to Marishka.

      Generally it's impressive how thinly populated the Baltics are, even city centres on a Saturday. Though what I understood was that during Jani a lot of people go into the countryside. Sorry to hear that, rough stuff, that's in the UK right? I hear they even go pick them up in parking garages there, just stress when you have a nice bike. Good luck mate.
