    Perhaps excruciating pain is G-d's calling card, bc it seems we're moved to prayer through misery more than contentment. Yet no matter why we wish to talk to G-d even move important is this universal desire to have G-d answer back. Without getting too deep into this sensitive subject: There's an old movie, Cool Hand Luke, about a war hero who ends up in a prison work farm. It begins with him using some enormous tool to rip the heads off of parking meters. He looks up into the driving rain and says : "Love me, hate me, anything at all. Just show me that you're up there."

    Mr Adam if you please . I just read right now about English poet Gerard Manley Hopkins. He was too Jesuit priest . His poems major themes about nature and religion. Unfortunately his works not published during his lifetime in collected form , until year 1918 , but he influenced many leading 20 th century poets .

As always iam gathering information about topics you mentioned briefly here it’s devotional poetry definition is poetry expressing religious worship or prayer . Writers of devotional should be have pure heart . James ( 3: 8 - 11) with humanity, graciousness, spiritual sensitivity, you can create something that can alter reader thinking and behavior. Famous devotional poets are Barrett browning, tennyson, crossotti . Value of devotional poetry is expresses writer love and worship of something particularly special to them . This often religious, these poems are usually directed toward god . But sometimes devotional poetry is written with secular love in mind . Purpose of spiritual poetry allows people to see reflection of love between god and soul . Characteristics of religious poetry it’s often employs vivid symbolism to convey abstract concepts and evoke sense of author reverence. I hope you like my synopsis.
